It keeps crashing for my 2 x Vega cards. How can I single mine ETH only with these cards? (what flags? options etc.)
-mode 1 add this

In config or or the start.bat? and before  or after the address/wallet info?
Ethdcrminer64 -epool your pool -ewal your wallet  -epsw x -eworker your worker -mode 1 this is an example

Sweet thx, I'll give it a try.

Still crashing but I'll fiddle around.

FOR RENT.

Is anyone able to set -mclock over 2250? I have a couple of Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 Special Edition, that have 2100 MHz Effective Memory Clock. I tried to OC them at 2300 but I get this error "failed to set new effective memory" for both cards. There's only 4 results on Google and I haven't seen discussed anywhere. Is 2250 the max -mclock Claymore allows?

Cheers.

speed report

9.8/latest AMD driver (dag fix)

480/8G = 29MH/900MH dcr
470/4G = 28.8MH/635MH dcr = issue with stable hash, keeps dropping to 14MH
570/4g = 30MH/660MH dcr = issue with stable hash, keeps dropping to 14MH
Vega FE 16G = 37.5MH/1.3GH dcr = issue with heat, any thing over 60c throttles down to 32.5MH/900MH dcr

Cards used: REF 480 + Red Devil 8G 480 + Nitro+OC 470 and 570 4GB + Vega FE 16GB Air.

Boysie

I had the same observation.  With genoil, 1602MHz core and 1100MHz hbm2, before 60C it would report 41MH/s.  Over 60C it would report 31-36MH/s.

Have you had any luck setting a lower core clock?  I've tried changing mine and it drops the GPU down to 852MHz core and reported 31MH in genoil and 36MH in claymore.  In my house at the current temperature if I run claymore's miner at 1602/1100 it gets up to 70C and reports about the same hash rate as I get at 852.  I really want to play with down clocking but so far no luck.  So for now I'm running 852MHz core clock to keep my temps at 60C.  my ambient is 40C.

3) With current drivers, WattTool is the best choice to undervolt/underclock your rigs. Get it here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1609782/watttool-a-simple-tool-that-combines-overclocking-with-vrm-monitoring-tweaking-for-rx-400-series

WattTool is not working with Radeon 17.7.2 on my Windows 10 Enterprise edition on RX480 8G, RX 570 4G, RX 470 4G. All GPU/MEM MHz/mV entries show 0. WattTool did work with Radeon 17.4.4 drivers with RX 480 8G and partly worked with RX 570 4G (it didn't work for MEM mV but did work for voltage offset).

Very clever to release this type of mining. Recently I have been working with nicehash and minergate where they can start the smart mining which is nothing but dual mining for alternative coins. However I have experienced too much power consumption when this happens.

I want to ask whether it is the case with this software too or not. I'm sure it's all about the hardware though.

"too much" is how much exactly? Wink
Please provide some examples fo consumption, earnings, hashrate to work wit to justify whether or not your system performs.

I dont know if its bug with the drivers or the 9.8 version of claymore but on about half my machines

the hash rate goes from 28ms or so to 8 and stays there till i have to reboot the rigs

How does your power consumption, Core/Mem frequencies, controllers behave during these drops?
Please provide Claymore, GPU-Z screenshots and logs to work with

Hi, Boysie. Have you tried to modify Vega BIOS? What are the results? I guess PBE cannot be used.

Hi guys, hi everyone.

I've been using Claymore in windows for a while, but now I've moved into linux (Ubuntu 16.04). I have all my bios (9 cards, RX 580 Sapphire (hynix)) modded by bios only, in windows, I'm not using AB nor any other tool, I have all the stuff within the bios. The thing is that the very same card does not behaves equally in linux than windows, Hash rate is quite less in Linux than win, using different drivers(from 16.30 to 17.30), the patters is the same, a card that runs at 29.9 in win, will do it at 29.5 in Linux, and all the other cards shows the same % of difference.
I did try with amdgpu pro drivers in --compute mode because the X won't start with normal installation, I did also tested with the hdmi wire connected to the onboard card, GPU output, all the same, no change.
Is there any known issue when moving same card to Linux? do I am missing something? There is also a difference when run claymore:

GPU #0: Ellesmere, 8165 MB available, 36 compute units

in windows the same card will show

GPU #0: Ellesmere, 8192 MB available, 36 compute units

memory size could be a calculation difference and not an issue, but just want it to mention it or something related to the openCL, but not sure. Could this also be the reason why I'm having less hash rate?

anyway, thanks to you all as all the information here is quite useful.

Brb.

Hi Claymore,

Are you working on getting your miner to work for downvolting with the dag driver fix that was posted yesterday? In other words, is there something you can do about it? I'm just asking because cvddc does not get applied with it, kind of a pain to go undervolt with Trixx and I don't want to mod the bios for this. Not that I don't know how, but it's just easier to undervolt with your miner.

That explains a lot although I didn't think any of the tools worked, I will check a few more

This might also explain the unstable hash on the 470/570 I have as I would be relying on the miner to set the power.

Hey Boysie,

I owe you one for your roms back when I started mining ^^

I think I'm going to wait for the official release from AMD which should be around the corner. What I have noticed with the DAG fix on 6x 470s 4G:

-Hashrate back to 29.3MH/s
-Watttool 0.92, since it has never been updated anyway, shows no voltages/core clocks like for the 570 cards with more recent drivers. It does show the offset and memory clock/voltage. From what I can tell, only the memory clock is applied from Watttool (otherwise my cards would not be at 29). Offset does not work
-Using Sapphire Trixx v. 6.3.0 I can undervolt the core clocks

So far the rig has been stable. But I can't imagine doing Trixx undervolts on 15+ rigs...

Hi guys, Claymore has stopped working for me. I've been dual mining ETH and SIA for the last few months with my R9 Fury.

Now, when I try to start up Claymore my reported hasrates just say 0 MH/s. I've tried a few different versions of Claymore, 9.5, 9.7, and 9.8  - did't have this problem this morning. I've tried single mining but still no luck.

I'm on Crimson 17.7.2. I've had to fall back on Genoil's Ethminer in the interim.

Any ideas?

Reported as by the pool? Or locally on claymore itself?

On the pool, it sometimes happens (bug on the pool side). If it's locally, a card that shows 0.000MH/s means the card crashed so start by restarting your rig. If you're still having issues, then you might have overclocked too much or set a voltage that is too low. Reinstalling the driver with a DDU prior to that can help.

Thanks for the quick reply! The 0 MH/s was showing up on the miner, though, all is good now. Don't know what the issue was cause I had already reinstalled the drivers using DDU in safe mode and had already reset the clocks (I undervolt the Fury - way too hot here...!)

No probs. Do you have windows updates running? When it decides to update drivers or itself it can be a real pain to realize this is what's causing you issues Smiley

Hello Miners!

I hope one of you have been had similar problem, and the solutions for it.

Currently having 17.7.1
and the latest afterburner
modded 570 4gb gaming x
the latest windows 10 x64

16:24:46:860   2a64   ETH - Total Speed: 25.352 Mh/s, Total Shares: 1, Rejected: 0, Time: 00:02
16:24:46:866   2a64   ETH: GPU0 4.198 Mh/s, GPU1 4.230 Mh/s, GPU2 4.231 Mh/s, GPU3 4.231 Mh/s, GPU4 4.230 Mh/s, GPU5 4.232 Mh/s

Ive been tweaking a lot to fix this, but no help.

Start.bat file settings:  -esm 0 -mode 1 -tstop 75 -ethi 4 -cvddc 900 -mvddc 900 -dcri 4 -minspeed 145 -mport 3333

To get even close what needed: -gser 2 helps a bit, but then still one card runs with the 4 Mh/s after the reboot. So I have to restart the miner to get the right speed.

Check "DISABLE ULPS" in Afterburner setting and reboot may solve the problem.
