Hi guys, I have a noob question here. How do I set the following environment variables in Ubuntu?

GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

I know "setx" is used in windows, but how do I do it in linux?. I've tried Google search but could not find answers. TIA.

USE THE COMMAND "EXPORT"--

At the top of your BASH script, place the following:

export GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR=0
export GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE=100
export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1
export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
export GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT=100

Please note that the syntax is slightly different.  An "equal" sign is required.         --scryptr

Thank you very much, scryptr!!!

^ lower the OC

Has anyone heard a timeline for undervolting on linux?  Seems like we are waiting on AMD to provide proper driver support, is that still the case?

THanks

Thanks for the suggestion.  This GPU ran stably for three days straight before I shut down the rig to add a few more GPUs to it.  Now this particular GPU is hanging every time, so I don't think it's the OC.

Any other ideas?

The whole rig becomes non-responsive as well.  Not sure what's going on.

Any news on when support for Vega will materialize?  My vega cards are sitting at the post office waiting for me to pick them up!

FYI

With 6pcs of GTX 1070, I'm still running the rig 7/24 for a month now with no any problems, consuming 770W. Still using the latest GeForce drivers, v9.7 miner, but I changed to dual mine a week ago: ETH+DCR. Results 182/1820 MH/s with dcri 30. Avg. GPU temp: 59°C

Maybe you messed up a riser dongle?  I'd say double check that for lose connections.  I just had one of my black wires on the riser power come out of the molex housing.

Thanks, I'll check that next.  For now I'm running that one card solo to see how it goes.  Maybe it's a power draw issue?  Using a 1kW supply and these 580s draw 180/each, and I think the power draw for each one spikes sometimes while mining.

I guess there some bug in displaying invalid shares in Claymore's miner by jsonrpc api. I have some invalid shares on different cards:
https://image.ibb.co/eUBnpk/2017_07_18_23_27_25.png
But api says that all of them on first card:

Whenever I run the batch file I get the following message using Claymore Dual Miner:

ETH: Stratum - Cannot connect to us1.ethpool.org:3333
ETH: Stratum - Failed to connect, retry in 20 sec...

I have tried numerous pools.  I would really appreciate any help into understanding why this happens.

Can you access websites from the miner?

Is port 3333 outgoing blocked on your router?

I am able to connect on my laptop(AMD), but not this PC which I recently purchased that came with a GTX1070 .  I'm guessing the issue must be specific to this computer based on that.  I forwarded the ports and it wasn't working.  I shut off the the firewall completely(for 2 minutes) and it still would not connect.  I'm guessing the issue isn't with the network as my other computer can connect.  Any help would be appreciated.  This is the batch file(irrelevant entries were changed for comedic value):

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

Is it normal to have only 16% gpu usage on HwInfo ?  Huh

i'm getting about 230 Mh/s @ 1000watt ( 4 rx480 + 4 rx 580 )

That's awesome. How is this possible?
My 2x R290 needs 550W for 50Mh/s

-cvddc 850
-mvddc 850

they're magic with rx480/580.. not sure with R290 but if they crashes try increasing to 880/900
also the temperature decreases about 30%  Wink

Hey guys, when I try to run Ethereum and Decred on the newest version of this miner, 9.7 I keep getting this error.  I'm on 2 RX 480s, windows, 64 bit.

Here is my batch file

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
ethdcrminer64.exe -epool eth.suprnova.cc:5005 -ewal novausername.worker -epsw password -esm 3 -dpool dcr.suprnova.cc:3252 -dwal novausername.worker -dpsw password -allpools 1

I keep getting this error:

Received unknown response: {"jsonrpc":"2.0","result":["0x415e793d74526f66ea33352645350eb5780eab36ecc187b0f4e833e6fa3056df","0x68fc811a18084465eab2e58f91e5dff9010c0bf8dbbf1dc799e61e23ab9cc904","0x00000000ffb34c02420e9948eacd78cf33b059a88ade1ff0614f7f3c303cf3a7"]}
GPU0 t=41C fan=56%

Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Looks like this was just an excessive power draw issue.  I did powlim -20 on the two 180 tdp cards and now getting a nice stable hashrate.

What do you guys think it will happen in autumn after the RX 4xx/5xx will become almost obsolete with the DAG 180 ? From benchmarks the hashrate for these will drop to 12Mh/s or so ..
I see a possible scenario in which many miners will sell their rigs or others will mine ZEC and change it 1:1 for ETH .

You don't understand the epoch problem. I think you need to watch this video to understand what is going on with the RX 4XX/5XX epcoh hash drop.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQE9WdhupAg

Bottom line is the ETH epoch will be in the 160's by the end of the year, maybe less if the block times keep increasing. By then if nothing is done to resolve the issue, the Claymore benchmarks show about a 25% hash drop by epoch 160, which in my own tests, I found the Claymore benchmarks to be overstating the actual hash drop from epoch changes.

The bigger and more relevant issue is at the latest ETH dev meeting last Friday, it was stated they have no plans to address the the increase in block times and difficulty due to the ongoing programmed ICE AGE before the Metropolis POW/POS hybrid release due by November this year. This means at the current price, ETH will no longer be profitable to mine for most people by the end of August once the difficulty retargets as programmed.

"Supports latest AMD 4xx cards only in Windows." :-(

I've done already -100mV via MSI Afterburner...
Ok, now iam sure, I try more undervolting with editing my bios!

The new ATI cards are much more power efficient!
