NOTE: please upgrade to v15.0 as soon as possible, old versions support up to #299 epoch only, they will fail then!
v15.0 supports up to #384 epoch (4GB DAG size).

Hello Mr. Sir Claymore.

Im using v15 and still having the problem of the DAG file with 1050Ti in w10. Dont know if that is what you are refering

There are 2 distinct problems:

What Claymore warned is that in versions prior to 15.0 the maximum epoch DAG that the software supports is # 299 and ethereum is currently at # 297 so anyone with the outdated miner will stop working soon.

Your case is that your video card has 4GB, DAG is currently allocating 3.32 GB ... but the problem is that Windows 10 also allocates vram and there is no space left to allocate DAG.

One solution is to install older versions of the driver that allocate less vram as commented version 375.57 .. or use linux that doesn't allocate as much memory and there will still be some time left for your 4GB card by mining ethereum.

or a better solution to sell them and recoup if you do not need it anymore
that is the reason we invested in gpus
right?
because if the time comes when the profitability is zero
we can always sell the cards

It's funny that you say to hang a GPU at a wall because I actually have done this.

However I only did it because I couldn't sell the GPU because it had stripped heads while doing a thermal paste swap job and it was one of the first GPUs I've ever bought for mining and used it for years and had a good history with it.

The GPU was a Radeon 6990. It was a beast of a GPU which could pull around 500Watts from a single card. Yes most people got rigs which use 500Watts that GPU could pull 500Watts alone. It even burned 100Watts on idle which is what most GPUs use these days while mining.

Why did I frame the GPU? Because it was one of the firsts and learnt a lot about cryptos and mining and Bitcoin in general. I actually mined Litecoin with it, then Darkcoin (now Dash), then Ethereum, then ZCash and last algo was XMR. So it had a good run and couldn't bear to get rid of it.

my all rigs shown this with red color
cannot allocate big buffer for DAG.
i do update to v15 but no fix my problem
what i must to do ?
thank you

A temporary solution would be to follow the steps given by @Bibicici in the post below:

For everyone getting the cuda dag error for 4gb nvidia cards, download and install and older nvidia driver from 2017 range. Use ddu to wipe current nvidia driver. Current nvidia driver is like 550mb, older nvidia driver from 2017 is like 350mb. You save 200mb in vram. Works for 1050 ti, may not work for 1660 bc newer driver.

On Linux 4GB cards will work longer until reaching the DAG limitation.

You can also use environment variables in "epools.txt" and "config.txt" files. For example, define "WORKER" environment variable and use it as "%WORKER%" in config.txt or in epools.txt.
On Ubuntu (switching because of 1050ti problem) I have environment variable $HOSTNAME:
> echo $HOSTNAME
Farm9

As said in readme, I specify it in config.txt %HOSTNAME% as my worker but it do not work.

Hello fellas! I need help. Suddenly my Miner Manager stops to showing info from some rigs(about half of them). I have checked their local IP, -mport function added, tried to add miner and port to firewall, updated miner. But nothing. Looks like some glitch, or it becouse of annoying windows 10 updates, which was sucessfully disabled, but  reenabled somehow again...

Fyi ethos users. If you're getting opencl error -38 not enough space to allocate dag on 8GB RX 470-580, run sudo update-miner claymore to fetch v15.

I have no idea why the "current/default" version v11.9 seem to choke on epoch #298 on some of my rigs, at different times, but that is what is happening and that is the "solution."

are you going to support progpow?

If ETH actually switches algos to ProgPOW then I am pretty sure he will. People asked him years ago if he would make a ZEC miner, he said he would if there was enough interest. His miner came out a little late than most of the early ZEC miner but his was way better in terms of speed and stability.

However how certain are you it will switch algos? From what I read there was lots of contraversary among the devs. The audit took forever and they refunded the funds which weren't used in the software and hardware audit and it's the last I heard. The audit came back actually in favor of a algo switch but who knows if they will actually move forward. The next fork doesn't include the algo ProgPOW change.

I think on Dec 4 is the next HF Istanbul. It has nothing to do with the mining. ProgPow was initially scheduled for the next HF in the 1st quarter on 2020. The share of asic miners is way too small and progpow won't have any effect. However, because of the crash of ethereum price devs decided to switch to POS quicker. From some articles in coindesk, I've read that the next HF Casper is planned for 20 Jan 2020. It will start the new POS algo, a.k.a. Ethereum 2.0. There will be no mining after that date, only stacking. The minimum amount is planned so far to be 32 ETH, but it is not finally decided. Currently, Casper is implemented on testnet with some POW/POS mix. I think every 100th block is validated by POS. It is possible that devs will introduce some transition period of half blocks verified by POW, and the other half by validators, i.e. users that stacked eth and lend their computers for block validatioins. There are many coins with such mixed algos - like ETP (metaverse) which uses both ethash and POS. But there is no word from devs about that, so the transition may be radical and the mining to stop in Jan 2020.

the 32 ETH required for staking is a good number, it's less than 6k$ (at the moment of writing) for an investment that can generate, according to this calculator (google sheets), very good profits
with a good marketing strategy, Ethereum can easily gain new investors, cause the amount is not unreachable, so this could be a trigger for a bull on ETH/USD and ETH/BTC trading pair

If you don't believe it or don't get it, I don't have the time to try to convince you, sorry.

Do you have a source for this? I know about the next Istanbul HF but what is planned for Q1 2020 is unclear. I used to frequent the Ethereum reddit,
https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/

However lately there doesn't seem to be much concrete info. Someone actually asked is ETH 2.0 scheduled for Q1 2020 and it got mixed answers.

Seems that the only way to be in the loop is to listen to the entire hour long dev calls on youtube and most don't have time for that. Usually there is a summary posted somewhere but I couldn't find it.

Either way, the switch to POS in Jan 2020 seems rushed since November is pretty much over. Don't think it will be that early.

Ethereum is not profitable for electricity prices above 10c, so the end of the mining is near anyway. I doubt that they will switch to pos without delay, but this is the plan according to some articles:

During last crisis in 2015 nothing was profitable for like 5c Wink
They keep pushing the pos further and further, doubt it will happen in 2020. Maybe shared with pow but definitely not solo.

I have 2 rigs and I have been using Clymore 11.02 and my rigs were working perfectly, but Claymore 11.02 is not working anymore, Claymore 11.02 stopped working on my rigs, so I just downloaded Claymore 15.0 but my rigs started getting stocked with this error:
WATCHDOG: GPU 3 hangs in OpenCL call, exit. --- This error in my rig Number 1
WATCHDOG: GPU 0 hangs in OpenCL call, exit. --- This error in my rig Number 2

I think this is a Claymore Bug because Im just getting this errors after downloading Claymore 15.0 with older vertions of Claymore I didnt get any error like this ones.... anyone knows a solution to solve this issue or this Claymore bug?

I have 2 rigs with 6 GPU AMD RX470 4GB each one

Thank you in advance.

I have 2 rigs with 6 GPU AMD RX470 4GB each one

Thank you in advance.
