Do you feel shameful for being a gambler?

In many cultures and countries is gambling consider as a bad thing which only the poorest and silliest ones do. Many gamblers try to hide that they gamble from their friends and families and feel really shameful for that. Do you consider gambling as a bad thing? Do you feel shameful or proud for being a gambler? If it is shame what you feel what do you about it? How do you hide you're a gambler and who do you hide it from?

No, I don't feel ashamed of being involved in gambling. I do not need to hide it to my friends, to my family or to anyone who knows me because I know for myself that I do not gamble to commit a crime. As long as I do not use gambling as a way to gain an upper hand to other people I would never hide or feel ashamed about it. I consider card games as gambling but we know, me and the people whom I play with, that this game was just a refreshment for all of us and there is nothing wrong or bad about it.

i think we just have to have a definition of what's shameful for us. For me, what's shameful is if what i'm doing is affecting my loved ones are people around me in a negative way. For example, if i borrow money to spend on non important things, i would consider that to be embarassing. If what you're doing is affecting other's make sure that it's in a positive way. Like for gambling, if i win i would treat my friends a drink or two. If my gambling has a negative effect on others, like if i always end up borrowing money, or i lie about my gambling, then that is what i can consider as something shameful

If you are into dating, why not stop first your gambling habit? You can't do at the same time, you love a girl, then hate gambling, or if you can't then find a girl who loves gambling, there girls who are like that I think. But I am assuring you, if you find a girl who loves a guy who gamble, they love money too, so better have a lot of money if you want a girl who loves a guy who gamble.

I don't think it is like that, if he is a professional gambler then that means he earns money out of gambling but the problem is many persons don’t understand a job which is not common, most people expect that when they ask, what do you do for a living, to receive a stock answer, but if you perform a different job they will inquire about and sometimes they will not be very understanding if your job is uncommon.

Only for the instance they decide to gamble they are coming in and never think about the consequences nor think about the legal issues of gambling. That is the reason they find gambling is disturbing their peace of mind after finishing up gambling with losses.

I am not ashamed of being a gambler because it brings me a lot of fun and as long as I don't bother someone elses time due to my passion, i will be more confident to say that because of gambling I am completely satisfied of life. That's a great way to earn income. Maybe you have a lot of knowledge in sports, that's why you are successful there. I'm still learning on different things concerning sports betting and how teams are going to play. You don't have to be ashamed if you are just playing for fun and you're not addicted.

See as long as gambling is not banned in one's country he shouldn't care about the society because it's his life if he wants to gamble he will and no one can stop him. But I don't think many people do care if it's banned according to law because I have still seen many people gambling by using vpn. I don't think that is a crime because porn is also banned but many people watch it using vpn and I don't anyone has been arrested till now.

You should feel more "unsafe" rather than being shameful. It's illegal. You don't know if somebody's secretly watching you and already took a photo of you gambling online. He can blackmail you for that. He can make you do things, and if you refuse, he's going to turn you to the police. In the moral sense, one shouldn't be ashamed of gambling because there are worst people like rapists, thieves, serial killers, etc. When you're gambling, you're not hurting other people at all. In the long run, you might get some emotional or psychological issues but you still didn't hurt other people.

Me too. I don't feel shameful for being a gambler. Some laws depending our country want to make us believe we must feel shame or something like this because we gamble, but these laws don't have the right to do this.
I know many gamblers being discovered by government forces by gambling using credit cards, these gamblers need to pay traffic tickets, because of it the bitcoin gambling is a smart idea for who wants to do it without be discovered by corrupt government forces.

As you can seen gamblers in las vegas are almost are rich.. no poor one.. so gambling is only good for rich people and i think those rich people are just halving fun in gambling.. unlike poor people that actually targeting to make a profit,. that turn into lose large amount of money. .

In that places yes the gamblers are rich people because they are already rich people having their businesses and they gamble for fun and do not rely on gambling for their profit so they do not feel shameful because they are already living a successful lives.
