Watch this:

http://www.ltc-charts.com/period-charts.php?period=3-months&resolution=day&pair=ltc-btc&market=btc-e
(be patient it takes about 5 seconds for the chart to display)

mining LTC is now 5.35 times more profitable than mining BTC. Temporary, I'm sure of that... but..

slush - maybe it wouldn't be too much hassle for you to duplicate a whole single server on another IP and run litecoin on the backend. So that we could mine LTCs on your server instead of mining on some random pools?

I'll think about it. I still don't see the advantage of LTC, except mining speculation.

There's no fee.

Great!

I was also wondering if people that are solving the block are receiving extra award or they are treated as any other miner during the round?

no extra reward, just the warm fuzzy feeling you helped everyone get btc, including yourself Cheesy

Dreams of cyprto solving everything is slowly slipping away...Replaced by scams/hacks Sad

I agree. No need.  There are lots of ltc pools people can choose from if they feel so inclined. I like LTC, but LTC brings nothing new to the table worth all this fuss.  NMC support I think is justified, it may be dying, but it at least does something different/new, and the merged mining costs us nothing but time to set it up.

I disabled block processing, I'm doing site maintenance. Pool will process blocks in few minutes.

5 workers per "my account" page?
Very bad to watch workers status. If this load highly site, make some "spoil" or smth, but page system is very unhandy.

Hi Slush,

I got 2 workers running on the pool and it seems like for some rounds one of the workers shares are not reflected in a block shares. Could there be some glitch or bug in block processing?

Ofc, Profile page is most important page and if there are some "page" system, then we (all users, who have 20+ profile) needs to do double(+) check.
But 20 is better than 5 ...

Can someone explain how average hashrate is calculated?  And why does guiminer report that I'm receiving 20-30 Mhash's more than what this says?

Hardly anyone speaks English on this forum.

It looks like at the moment you are running at about 840Mhash/s.  So average hashrate is the last ten rounds combined.  So if you have been using that same hashrate since you started mining it would been that about 6 of those 10 rounds you have been mining 840 Mhash/s.  Note this is only a guestimate.  It's like saying I am currently running at 100Mhash/s and have always done that.  But I only did it for five of the last 10 rounds so my average hashrate would be 50 Mhash/s.  If you stay steady at the 840 for ten rounds then it should show an average hashrate of 840.

Slush have you considered implementing LTC mining pool? There are lot's of graphic cards out there soon to be obsolete...

I considered that, but I'm not a fan of alternative currencies (except the namecoin, which is dead), so I have no plans for litecoin support.

When there'll be a currency which will bring some innovations comparing to bitcoin, I'll consider the support. I don't think litecoin fullfil this condition.

what do you think about devcoin? (maybe you can earn some devcoins with the Trezor project Wink )

I'm having trouble connecting with poclbm. It works sometimes so I know it's not me. In fact, I have a miner running connected right now. When I try and start them up, it's hit or miss. At one point, I had all three miners up but seem to be hitting a run of bad luck on getting two of them up. Symptom is, it reports "no response to getwork, using as stratum" (as it should) then "Failed to subscribe".

pings to stratum.bitcoin.cz complete 100%.

Is there something I'm missing?

Hmm. Just got #2 up then had a power glitch and restarted and now seem to be able to connect every time. Maybe it was me. Strange though.

Hi, Slush

Is there anything can be done with pool-hopping on different luck periods?
It's kinda annoying patiently waiting through two days of bad luck (down to 65%) to see the pool's share grow almost twice when luck goes up to 120%.

Or is this a normal situation that I don't catch up with?

Beta-testers needed!
