Does that include the website?

When it first happened slush said that he had the database up and running and was going to figure out everyone's share. He said that he was going to give a bonus to those who stuck with him through this. (I think he said that) a long time ago and I dont have the time to back track the thread.

Learn how to use the fourm: simply click on Slush's nick and look at his most recent posts - takes moments to find..:

Pool just found new block. Because database isn't running and shares are not stored, I'll spread blocks mined during database outage to miners who'll continue mining on the pool since the database will be up again.

He never said anything about bonus - what he said was he would distribute the blocks to those who continue mining on the pool when the db comes back up.

Spewing stupid mis-information, especially when you know that you don't know... is not going to make you any friends!

yup, when ever I switch back to bitcoins I use this pool. I'm very low on the hashes, but still with slush's responsiveness and the way he handled the whole thing. When I upgrade I'll be staying here.

Spewing stupid mis-information, especially when you know that you don't know... is not going to make you any friends!

People are restless, and while I can understand them we have so far had discussions on how to sort out the payouts during the outage, conspiracy theories and what-not. Personally, I just don't get why we can't accept that there was a major incident, with potentially major consequences, chill and wait for the man in charge to get things back on track. Currently it looks as if many of us are putting the cart before the horse... Give the man 24 hours and there will be no need to play Chinese whispers, making the thread longer and even harder to follow.

@Slush: Thanks for all the time and effort you put into hacking on/maintaining the pool and Bitcoin in general. My little mining operation has been running smoothly all through this mess thanks to you.

I just started mining yesterday (ha ha, sucks to be beaten down within 24 hours of starting), but this Slush dude seems A-ok in my books. I'll stick with this pool.

There was a DDoS just a week (?) ago. Now the site has been hacked. Might be you confuse the two?

3. mining is still working and we will be paid by slush per block instad of PPS

I hope we don't get paid out without PPS because it would [truly] suck to earn what a GPU card owner earns for the last two days of delivered work. I put out about 1000 times more work than the average person using a medium range [single] GPU card.

Just on the day of the outage I discovered 2 blocks. (Got a screen cap of it too)

I am the last person in a circle to be "the greedy type" but lets hope some metrics or thoughts are put into play when dispersing funds. Like one Mod mentioned in the Custom Hardware Mining board, I pay out more in fees than the average GPU owner earns in a day (possibly even in a month if I am not mistaken). Or at least that is what the Mod hinted at when they ran the numbers against various fee sizes.

Edit: Anyway, it really takes the wind out of my sails just hearing about that.

1000 times? what rate are you running? how do you know when YOU found the block.

AFAIK, the "fight club mining link" (lol) is the only one that was pointing to the old server from my point of view.. and IIRC it was also valid..

So, for those who missed the complete story, mining is still fine on slush's pool, stratum or anything else..

I'll stick there, because I fully trust the operator !

slush explained it a few pages ago. He had "private" IPs prepared, to which "trusted" miners could connect during DDoS attacks. However since OVH routed them all back to the same IP the plan became moot.
