Funny one of the presenters on Russia Today funded by the kremlin has launched a crypto coin.    China ban was for companies not personal use, Russia verdict sounds worse

The no fee block was 18 seconds in the making which I guess explains the lack of traffic in the that time

I bet the conspiracy theorists and complainers that ran to another pool are kicking themselves now, especially since the hashrate fell by about 10% and our payouts went up.

That's the advantage of the bad luck - it leaves less people in the pool to share to good luck Smiley

ah ..i knew being lazy and clueless about all this would pay off (not really)....lazy i mean in changing pools ....clueless on the voodoo and chicken entrails needed to figure out how pool luck works...and all this other mystical bitcoin stuff...

anyway not having any real idea of what is going on and not changing anything worked for me again!

yea apathy!

Alas, they'll be back, refreshed and ready to carry on with their daft accusations next time we have a big dip in the luck.  Sad

Well looks like I'm kicking myself. I found the proxy program and started setting it up but got busy with other things and didn't have a chance to get back to it till now and I see I hosed myself. Smiley

Question. I have 3 gpu's is it worth pointing at this pool or should I stay with the alts?

With GPU's you are definitely not for BTC (or any other SHA256) mining at this point, no matter which pool.
Even if your power is free GPU won't get you enough for withdrawal any time soon and if you want to donate your work to some pool, then pick your own favourite.

thx for the quick reply. Smiley

BTW is the mining proxy only for this pool or is it configurable?

I believe that you have to recompile to change where the proxy points. But i might be wrong. There is a thread fro the Slush proxy.

You can use it with any pool. Just run the exe with /? (if I'm not mistaken), to print the help. Then give it the necessary arguments to connect to another pool.

I guess you running blades or cubes. I use two different methods, right now I'm using bfgminer as a mining proxy.
like this: bfgminer -o stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u your.username -p minerpassword --http-port 8332 --api-listen
It's the --http-port flag that makes bfgminer to a proxy.

To mine at ghash with the mining_proxy made by slush: mining_proxy.exe -o uk1.ghash.io -p 3333

haha - kind of funny.  we dropped about 80Th computing a few days ago from bad luck in the pool. .   have a good string of look, get back about 70TH, and then pool luck lays a big egg with another 12+ hour round. ..

theoretically more pool computing power should mean smaller payouts but faster computing - but it looks like we add computing power and get longer blocks. ..

best to just sit still, but the internal machinations of the round times are certainly fun and intriguing.

Depends on whether other pools/miners are adding power even faster, which appears to be the case.

Well, yes, if you think the accusations and conspiracy theories are fun and intriguing.  No doubt they will reappear if this carries on much longer.

I don't bother with the conspiracy theorists and other crap. .   When you deal with an off-grid type of item like bitcoin/alt currencies, you're going to have a particular group which believes that everyone is always out to "get them", so the proportion of said minded people in something like this is significantly higher than discussing the larger general populace.
