What's going on with the very long block times on Slush's Pool lately? Has mining power been lost so taking longer to find a block or what's going on?

That is the up and down of Bitcoin Mining some days your hot others your not.  Stick in there dont jump around too much and you will be fine.

Found 2 blocks in less than 4 days last week .

Very lucky considering I'm only at 3.4 Th/s

You found 2 blocks for Slush's Pool or 2 blocks as a solo miner last week?

With 3.4 TH it would take around 500 or so days to find a block solo mining depending on luck but 2 in 4 weeks HIGHLY doubt it.  Even mining in a pool that goes down some but not much.  I have 8.6 TH and have only found 3 blocks since ive been here. That being said if you found 2 solo mining go buy a lottery ticked and have sex with an aids infested hooker because thats beyond lucky.

Lol.  I've been watching Slushs Pool speed for a a week 1/2 watching it closely  and so far.  The results

9.6 for  1-2 days.  7.2  for a day or 2.   8.6 for 3+ days.      

Basicallly The result is.  for 1-2 week we havent been staying at a consistent Hash rate.    It's been almost at 10PH/s than drops back to 7PH/s  than up to 9 than back to 8  and repeat usually.


This i think would be a major cause for long blocks are crappier payouts.




With slushs pool i've found u loose a hell of alot more money from hopping than to just stick it out and stay.  


It's Slushs Pool.  Hes never let us down yet and I dont think he plans to at all.


I've been turning on and off alot of my miners lately.  (only like 500-1TH/s or so GH/s)  due to maintenance and im starting to set up a nice little network for them.  and the wind we had one day almost knocked over my miners that are outside :O.

Anyone else notice when that large miner stops by here every few days lately that the blocks take forever to find? That miner jumps around, and he was at ckpool right before he hopped back here....

Nah in our case we know all the big miners at ckpool for now so we know what they're up to. The strange share submissions were from a new miner with only a tiny hashrate who was trying to send shares from another username.

Yeah, felt stupid suggesting it out of my ignorance!  Turned out being Safari in the new Yosemite Upgrade from Apple.

One can screw up a pool with corrupted shares from what I've read before.  But hey, no need in starting that theory.  If they wish to waste their hashing power on screwing others AND THEMSELVES, go for it!  They can only do it for so long before it is no longer financially beneficial for them to do it.  A LOT of money is being spent on electricity as well to try something like that.

So, like I said, let them "go for it!" Be my guest!  I'll wait it out!  It takes a LOT of money to power 1 or 2 PH/s of rigs.

Not sure how much hashing power it would take to corrupt a pool with 8 PH/s total?  I'm sure it would take at least 500 TH/s; if not more.

As long as BTC stays close to the price it is right now by the end of day on Friday, I'm getting four more S4's instead of three.  It was nice finding at least one block on the 25th of November.  LOL

It would be nicer to find at least 4 blocks on the 26th of November.  We'll see...

Now that BTC has gone up from $350'ish to $370'ish, I should have no problem getting four S4's now.

Come on Slush!  7 more blocks between now and mid day Friday!

IF NOT, I gotta purchase some more BTC on Coinbase with the "instant buy" option.  Oh well...  So be it if that' the case.

As it stands right now:  If we did not find another block at all between now and mid day Friday, BTC would have to go below $359.34 to keep me from getting S4's without an instant buy option on Coinbase.  With an instant buy on Coinbase, BTC would have to go below $349.62 to keep me from getting four more S4's.  So, I feel fairly comfortable about getting all four.

I mainly wanted to give my 2 cents about one pool possibly messing up another pool with corrupted shares in an effort to get miners to point their rigs at their pool.

It's actually a shame it has come to this IF that's what some pools are starting to do.  I have my thoughts but I'm not about to share them publicly or privately.

I have lots to say about it.  But the most i can say in least words is that.    Not giving up proves a point....    They are proving their point one way or another... and people are listening because its all over the news now.      GOOD.  I was listening to Obama shit head ass hole.   Talking about  justice and all this shit happening be fixed.   HE NEEDS TO SHUT THE HELL UP.  Because first off.  Obama is funding war and murder,  cops are getting away with murder and injust.   ETC ETC ETC.

I don't like the sound of this AT ALL!  It actually pisses me off!

I was on Eligius for about 10 days that began about 20 days ago.

I left and went to CKPool for a while to show my support.  We went into a block winter over there for a while.  Which made me come over here to try to earn enough BTC to get four S4's.  I've been here since the 6th block that was found on the 18th.  Makes me wonder if someone was doing that then while I was at CK's Pool?

I'm wondering if another pool with 1 to 2 Ph/s [Like GHash] is sending us bad shares to mess with us in an effort to get others to leave and hopefully some of us leave and go to their pool?

It makes sense to do it in waves.  I might want to have a look at their hashing power history...

I'll do that right now.

EDIT:  Did not appear to be anything to instigate them.  Still could be though. They have enough hashing power on hand to bounce around from pool to pool to do some crap like that.

It's not like someone has to keep that kind of hashing power here very long.  If they are devious and want to bounce around to several of them in an effort to get people to switch to them, they have the hashing power to do it.  Not saying it couldn't be someone else either.  I could just be paranoid.  Hell, some could call me a conspiracy theorist.  LOL

Just doesn't make sense to me to see that big of changes in the hash rate in such short time frames on this pool.  I think some are jealous of the new beta and could be up to something malicious.  It's possible...
