Doc H I have 20 of the  new fury usb sticks on a preorder have you made them play n play with the java client? The preorder has reopened and I can get some more I would like to buy 4 more but they cost a lot. Let me know if you have had and luck with them.  thanks phil

I don't have access to a device yet, so I can't implement support yet.

Hello, could you explain to me why we gain more bitcoin with Bitminter past 24 hours. what the problem is the pool is too small to solve the blocks?

Anything can create blocks, even an old laptop solomining, or a much smaller pool than ours. But the time it takes on average will vary a lot.

We had a 99.9% CDF block. 1 out of 1000 blocks will be that unlucky, for any pool. What we need to push through unlucky blocks faster is more hashpower. So tell your friends to join Smiley

thanks for the info on the sticks.  I do not have one to send you as I am waiting for them.

Tell anyone who wants to know or learn about BTC to join bitminter!  It helps both them and us. I knew nothing when I started, but learned from advice and the knowledge of the bitminter community. And for that I will always be faithful.  For any newbie who reads this, I can't recommend this pool enough. The more the better as iv learned, either way in going nowhere.  Wink

I've a jally(upgraded) and LS to come which will be pointing at this pool.  I've also got 8 BE's which are mining PPC (sorry Bitminter)
I've also bought a jally from a US guy, which is stuck in my US shipping address until I can pay for shipping!
So I've sold my 8 BE's with USB hub +fan.  Things I do for Bitminter  Grin

So when my auction is done(Monday) I'll be able to pay for shipment + duty/tax!  So no hold ups at customs hehe  Cheesy

Then I'll have a great massive 5GH/s for this great pool! YES  Roll Eyes

Waiting for 99.99% CDF and orphan or stale block  Grin)

 Angry
truly nasty block.

God damn, that was supposed to be a joke approx. 5% chance to hit on the spot. Well, now I hope next 30 blocks to fall under 30% CDF Grin)

Truthfully this is a long game and eventually Bitminter's payout & fee system combined with superb system uptime & features makes me wonder why there aren't more miners mining right now. Small fee plus additional contributions to support Dr Haribo for countless work hours are peanuts to high fees on some of the biggest PPS pools.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure there's only one PPS pool (50BTC).  All the others are different payment methods, with an optional PPS method at a higher fee.

If you have more than 2 confirmations (the block itself + one more), the only way it's going stale is if there is a hardfork or 51% attack.

The pool size has been growing rapidly. as more power is added to the pool, your share per block decreases.
But this should mean blocks are mined faster, which theoretically balances it out (smaller payments, more often)

+1. I started here because cgminer and bfgminer refused to play with my GPU after many hours effort. Bitminter just worked 1st time. The more I have learned about mining I now know that "luck" is actually variance and over a long enough period it makes no difference to income. What does make a difference is pool fees. Dr H should make the 1% fee far more prominent on the home page to attract more custom.

When you get to the signup page there is a little lightbulb with a text telling you what the problem is. Wink

On the website there is now a warning on the login page about myopenid.com shutting down, and noone is allowed to sign up using myopenid.com anymore. If you are still using them to log in, please go to "my account" -> "logins" on the website (after logging in) and add another way to log in.

On the topic of login.

If I am not using myopenid.com, then this issue does not effect me?

Not on the login page, the signup page. If you use an OpenID we have never seen before you will be sent to the signup page instead of being logged in. Since a lot of people do this by mistake there is a lightbulb with a message explaining what went wrong.

If you sign up with Yahoo account A, you can't use Google account B or Yahoo account C to log in, because we've never seen those accounts before and have no idea who you are. You have to use the same one so we can recognize you. You can add more ways to log into your BitMinter account if you wish, under "my account" -> "logins" in the website menu. If you have added more than one then any of them will get you logged in.

On the website there is now a warning on the login page about myopenid.com shutting down, and noone is allowed to sign up using myopenid.com anymore. If you are still using them to log in, please go to "my account" -> "logins" on the website (after logging in) and add another way to log in.

That's right. If you use Google, Yahoo or whatever else, then it is not a problem. The problem is only if you use myopenid.com as they will shut down february 1, 2014. After that you won't be able to use a myopenid.com account to log in anywhere.

I advise any myopenid.com users to fix this immediately. Don't wait until january 31, 2014. You'll only forget. Smiley
