The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Indeed time to begin, but probably not only short term for me. Cheesy

So, "good news" guys, how do you explain all of this despite the "good news"? Learn to realize it, markets are made up of people and people make up their decisions according to their emotions which in turn is the lense for EVERYTHING external!

The bubble is deflating, news can only trigger moves, but when the influx of new fiat into the exchanges stalls
and there are fewer greater fools willing to buy high, what happens is a normal market movement.

Sometimes, if it looks too bullish, it's actually bearish

Reminiscences of a Stock Operator definitely helped me. You could also read the shorter "How to trade in Stocks" where Livermore puts forward his actual method explained at the end. Right now I'm reading Fooled by Randomness.

Goomboo has a nice reading list.

If it doesn't have to be a book, I like http://www.babypips.com/school for learning technical analysis.

Great book. The best thing I've learned from it is to not give a fuck if I think I'm right.

Currently reading Kirkpatrick/Dahlquist's 'Technical Analysis'. Don't have much to compare it against, but I like the solid, methodological style, similar to the textbooks I'm used to.

As for Bitcoin technical analysis: Does anyone have an argument (charting, please) as for why 650 (gox)/619 (stamp) could not have probably been the next higher low after 455 forming a triangle (or a C triangle wave for EWers)?

This?

Maybe. But I don't like these deviations starting to expand along with price going down on rising volume.

And also bounced macd + crossed down zero line

I tend to agree.. if volume remains low while going up, and high while going down - logic would dictate that there are more people wanting to sell than buy. And down we go.

Looking at google trends, there can't be that much new money coming in.. and that's a problem. If I'm not mistaken, the big rallies have often, if not always, corresponded with a rise in the google searches. We've been declining for some time now.

Google trends is, as has been repeated ad nauseam, a lagging indicator. And nobody (I hope Cheesy) is assuming we're in a rally right now. Google trends will pick up once the consolidation/bear market is over. And that question can't be settled by looking at Google trends IMO.

True, if you call "smart" money people who trust their holdings to others and pay hefty fees for this.

When I try explaining Bitcoin to my friends, the first impression is always its a scam/pyramid scheme. I keep telling them not to come back crying in 10 years.

Regarding this thread, whats the common thinking? Going up or down?
