Same here with a Ripple transfer..

https://xrpcharts.ripple.com/#/transactions/C6528969FAB78F7F6A25DC86475D838869A559F0CD9604BFC3321F502513CAC1

The recipient never got it, although it shows that it took place.  Now I can't withdrawal XMR *or* XRP because it says "An error has occurred."  I didn't lose 30,000 USD but I have about 6,000 USD tied up in HitBTC and no response from support, of course.  Do not deposit anything into HitBTC until they can get their shit together.

Same here did deposit ETH first small amount did take only 5 minutes .... than larger amount and it did not show up over 280 confirmations. Also not possible to move assets from trading wallet to main account so no option to move the tokens out. I would stay away for now something strange is going on.

Why store your coins in an exchange? You should never store them in a wallet if you and you alone do not own, know and control the private keys to that wallet.

So now the person(s) behind this exchange is swimming in all your coins and there is absolutely nothing any of you can do. You don't have the private keys so the doors are closed. Locked and shut tightly.

They have the nerve and audacity to claim to be the most advanced cryptocurrency exchange. It's more like the most advanced and elaborate cryptocurrency fraudsters. This is what thieves do. They create and design a sophisticated and impressive looking website, complete with a fancy trading platform. All this to entice their victims to send coins to their hot wallets. Then when that wallet is bursting full and it's time to live the high life in Tahiti or Maldives or Dubai, then you all get the silent treatment.

So this is it. A time to reflect on mistakes. Putting coins in a wallet they control. That's one. Trusting them excessively. That's another.

How do you trade if you don't store your coins on exchanges? We are not talking here about long-term storage.
I would only put bitcoins or altcoins on exchanges for trading and even then I would only put a small portion of my coins there. But those few thousand, which I actively use for trading are still quite a big amount for me.

Hi, I am trying to have my account verified. I have sent all the necessary information to compliance@hitbtc.com on 12th December and I am still waiting some feedback. The ticket number is 70304. If anyone at HitBTC could look at my request, it would be great. Many thanks.

And how do you trade your coins if they reside in your local wallet?

And how do you trade your coins if they reside in your local wallet?

I don't trade but I would advise using vetted exchanges only. And even then, I wouldn't store my coins on such exchanges. Neither would I entrust them with my entire stock of coins if losing them would mean putting yourself (and others such as your family) in a position of severe hardship.

There is a critical difference between using exchanges as a trading platform and as a storage wallet. It's using them for storage of coins which I discourage, knowing they own and keep the private keys and never share them with their customers.

But if you want to sell ath or buy a dip you have to set up orders which are not executed instantly and so your coins are bound and stored on the exchange.
If you don't have them in any orders I'm totally fine with what you're saying. But if you want to set orders there's no other way.
I lost 0.6BTC through HitBTC by them not processing my withdrawal and delaying it for more than 14 days. I can cope with it, but it's really annoying. And I really thought an exchange listed TOP3 for BTC volume (which was the case with HitBTC that time)

In case you missed it, when you visit your account, you will find a message saying that Ethereum network is experiencing extremely high load so withdrawals could take much more time to proceed.

Has anyone had any neutral or positive experiecne with HitBTC lately?
I'm wondering if they have a referral/affiliate program. If they do, can someone PM me one, I would like to test them out for myself. Thanks.

What do you mean by the 'authentication code'? Do you have 2FA enabled? If so, check whether the time is synced on your mobile device.
