That's a good thing for the PBA as heard before that once they have a good signal to start practicing it will be close to resumption of the PBA season. Hopefully we will see PBA resume this month so we can bet in 2 leagues, the PBA and the NBA. Excited for this, thanks for sharing the news.

Some good news for the PBA fans here as training for basketball got a go signal from the IATF. Hoping that NCR will shifted to MGCQ status soon so official games can return and also hoping that the PBA will lay out their plans for the resumption of games.
I read this news yesterday, not just in basketball but for other large sports as well. The question now is when NCR will be shifted to MGCQ before PBA can be considered to resume. Looking at the recent stats of COVID-19 here in PH, the newest confirmed cases is 1,531. As much as I want to think that everything will be fine and PBA will soon resume, I think the possibility is now slim or near zero.

Actually, that allowing to resume the practice doesn't increase the chance of PBA to resume. And besides, in their practice, only limited people are allowed. Maybe literally, only players + coach + 2 to 4 staffs (the numbers are just an example). Totally different environment to the actual official game wherein more people are involved. The chance of PBA to resume will depend on the status of Covid-19 cases in the country specifically here in the capital. If the number of confirmed cases will decline in the following weeks until, to the point that we can fairly say, the numbers are controlled, large sports like basketball might be considered resuming. With more mass testing being held nationwide, it's really expected to see more numbers of confirmed cases. The other day, I thought the increase is somehow slow down as DOH reports only 200+ additional confirmed cases. And yesterday, as stated above, it hops to 1,500+.

Training sessions under the PBA guidelines will be limited to just 6 persons per batch: 4 players, 1 trainer, and 1 safety officer.
I have also watched a news yesterday with the same topic. I must say that that's a good news for us fans. Guess we'll be seeing our favorite teams play again for another conference. However, you're right that there's still no guarantee that PBA will resume it's game immediately despite allowing the practice. But PBA Commissioner, Willie Marcial, is hoping that by September or October, they can stage a conference. I just hope that by that time, there will be an improvement. I mean, more recoveries, little to no positive cases, and as much as possible, a vaccine.

Yup, I didn't see PBA coming back soon with the cases, I think the league can continue as soon as they got the go signal but they can't really assure the safety of the players and staff involved. I just can't see that our country is getting better for them to continue on september. Its good that they allowed the training already, but they still prohobits 1 on 1, 5 on 5, so individual training only.

The rise of number of cases should not hinder the resumption of the PBA, this is business, if they can't continue, lots of jobs will be loss and that would create bigger problem sooner or later. What I'm trying to expound is, if the NBA is scheduled to resume this month, that is despite of the fact that the number of cases are still growing, I don't think we in the Philippines can't manage that. If we will follow the model the NBA has employed, I think nothing is impossible.

However, I don't think even if the rate will decrease the PBA can resume to its norms, why can't they just follow the NBA where they will play without a crowd? I think that would be easier, and we can possibly see the PBA to resume soon. I just hope that by that time, there will be an improvement. I mean, more recoveries, little to no positive cases, and as much as possible, a vaccine.
Maybe there will be an improvement, but on the vaccine, it's not really that easy and I don't read any news telling that the vaccine will be close to be release this year, most of them are saying the vaccine will be available at least next year.

If there are more cases to shows up, it's better not to pursue since the chance of spreading more will harm people. We all love seeing our fav teams to play back, this indication where we are seeing them practicing is a good sign that the league is preparing, teams are bringing back trainings and conditioning practices.
Practices with right social distancing is far better than none at all, though risk is there but conditioning is very important there's still questions in regards to the time frame of resuming this league.

If we will try to simply analyze the situation, in a daily basis there are number of cases being tallied, so why would the Inter-Agency Task Force approved the PBA to start their practice? The trend does not lie, the cases will continue to rise but I think there's a reason why they approved it and I am also optimistic just like the PBA that after this approval will be the resumption of the PBA season. Practices with right social distancing is far better than none at all, though risk is there but conditioning is very important there's still questions in regards to the time frame of resuming this league.
There's a rule that they will have to follow, they are watching each other to ensure they'll comply with the rules, or they'll get sanction. and we don't want to see an incident like this happened. PBA summons Japeth Aguilar, Adrian Wong over video of 5-on-5 game

Good news, Greg Slaughter seems to be still interested in playing in the PBA again. I thought he is gone in the PBA for good, but this is the latest news about him. Slaughter on 'strange' Ginebra deal, US training, desire to play for GilasGREG Slaughter has his eyes set on playing an integral part for the Gilas Pilipinas side that will compete in the FIBA Basketball World Cup come 2023.
The former Ginebra big man also said he is open to a return to the PBA and Barangay Ginebra on Friday in his very first comments since stunning the basketball world by announced he was taking a sabbatical from basketball back in February.

Good news! My eagerness overflow to bet in my Favorite teams such as TnT Katropa and Phoenix Fuel. When the lockdown was started till now, I did not have any info about the continuation of this league. Is Calvin Abueva return already? I am fan of PBA but I think a lot of changes will happen when the season started. Just like the number of people who can watch in court or physical distancing to all (except for the players) in order to have safety measures regarding to stop spreading the virus.

If we will follow the model the NBA has employed, I think nothing is impossible. it is really possible, business will start if they really want it. They can follow the NBA's plan, what I'm thinking is if PBA can afford it. Do we have a place to quarantine the players and its staff, just like disney world in orlando which they called "orlando bubble". They also have 113 page health plan on how they will handle the league with the virus. If the PBA is planning to resume on september, they should also have a plan like that. Where will the players will stay, testing for all the players and staff too. What will be their plan in case there's a positive case with one of the players and staff? and etc. Just like I've said, they can continue, but I hope they can provide a solid plan before continuing. Cause one positive case can make the league stop again.

That remains to be seen as there's no proper guidelines yet, but whatever would be the new normal I'd definitely enjoy watching PBA since they give some kind of entertainment to me, or to us, and of course the betting opportunity will be back.

I'm browsing the internet (facebook) and I see this post from Snow Badua LAPAD Sources told me THIRDY RAVENA’s contract in JAPAN is worth between $8,000-10,000 per month. The offer to lure CALVIN ABUEVA is $150,000 for ten months (ALL IN, free board and lodging). Another JAPANESE target is TERRENCE ROMEO. More to come... will write about this in @spinph Although this has been posted June 28, I already know that Abueva has been offered many times already in Japan but what I don't know is even Terrence Romeo is being offered too in other countries. What are your opinions with this?? Do you like to have Abueva and Romeo on Japan

If I remember it correctly Abueva still aiming to play inside PBA but if there's no directives from the governors sure that he will sign it up since he needs to live and feed his family. In terms of Romeo, he already inside the biggest franchise and if there's an offer that he might be entice with definitely it's a huge amount of money.

According to the article. https://www.spin.ph/basketball/thirdy-ravena-says-salary-not-a-factor-in-decision-to-join-san-en-a2437-20200627?ref=article_tagRavena's terms were not disclosed, but based on a Japan Times report last November, the average base salary for players in the B.League in the 2018-19 season was at Y16.1 million (P7.5 million). So let's compute, if it's for one season based on NBA, it's just 8 months.. I don't know about the B-League, but we will use it as an example. Based on the information, that is only an average salary, so that's 7.5 million over 8 months equals, that's Php 937,500, and bear in mind that Thirdy Ravena is not an average player, he was signed as an import ,so probably he will be earning at least 1 million pesos per month.

He deserves to earn that numbers plus he plays overseas so it will be bad decision for him if he takes that $8,000-$10,000 per month, And if he accept that really since there was a statement that salary is not factor then provably its a wrong decision if that's true. I find japanese players are so soft we already see how they played on FIBA and filipino players always beat them. It's better for him to play in phils since he can earned more and will be trained well by the elite coaches on PBA.

Yeah of course, that salary is something very attractive for a young player who hasn't played in the PBA yet and has not earn close to that amount yet. I'm not sure how much he is earning during college if they have pay, but pretty sure not big enough to compete with what he signed for now. I find japanese players are so soft we already see how they played on FIBA and filipino players always beat them.
They are not mate, if you are watching FIBA asia, they are very competitive and we don't beat them all the time. It's better for him to play in phils since he can earned more and will be trained well by the elite coaches on PBA.
He can't earn that amount in the Philippines playing in the PBA as a rookie, with his salary now, he is even getting paid bigger than JMF if it's true that he is earning at least 1 million pesos per month.

AFAIK, JMF's salary is only Php 500, 000 per month, so yeah, Thirdy has a higher salary than him and hopefully it's not an insult to the PBA that they can't provide a good salary that's some player starting to choose playing abroad. This guy Kai sotto has the highest salary per month. Kai Sotto G League deal worth at least P10M for five months, says reportSo even if he will fail on his journey in the USA, I don't think PBA would be the next to offer him a good salary, most probably other league are also aiming for him.
