Arsenal played very well today and won the game and move to 1st place in the league.
I hope that these successes will be continuous and we will watch Arsenal enjoying it like the old days.

As is known, Arsenal had a positive trend at the start of the competition with five consecutive wins in the Premier League. And unfortunately, it stopped when Arsenal lost to Manchester United 1-3.
But the defeat was redeemed by beating Brentford 0-3 at home to Brentford and back leading the table, Arsenal's game this season is very good and can compete with Manchester City at the top of the table, And hopefully this will continue until the end of the season. And can maintain or improve the game so as not to lose in the next game.

Arsenal has really exceeded the expectations of many people so far this season in my opinion. I really believe that they will be able to achieve good things this season. I am not going to be surprised if Arsenal actually ends up finishing in the top 3.

But we do know that Arsenal tends to lose significant matches at critical times. Just like they did in the last season. As of now, the English Premier League table looks really awkward. It is still very early in the season and I think things will settle down after a few more matches. Obviously congratulations to Arsenal. Their last match against Brentford was expected to be a win, and they did not disappoint.

Which of these Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea will be able to mount a serious challenge for a top 4 finish? Here is the Premier League table as it stands after the games played today:

Having made a great start to the season, Arsenal have no other defeats except one loss and today they have risen to the leadership with the win, followed by City. I think these two teams will compete for the top two. I don't know if Tottenham will be included in this competition, but 3 or 4 definitely in their place. On the other hand, things are not looking good for Chelsea and Liverpool, but they have been winning for the last four games as United have picked things up. Their last transfer was also very good and their new game lineup is more functional and they win the matches.

Arsenal destroyed Brentford which was not a thing I was expecting to see in this game. Because Brentford haven't been having any problem with finding goals recently. Their performance against Manchester United was incredible and I even thought of a possible upset for Arsenal also. But Arsenal got a very reassuring win by 3-0. Vieira's goal from a far distance was really worth watching. Gabriel Jesus continued from where he left by scoring a goal after a break in the Manchester United game.

Arsenal are very determined this season. They aren't intending to leave even a single point against this kind of teams. As long as they continue to be consistent in the games against weaker teams it would be easier for them to make up for their mistakes in the big games. But for winning the title they need to play better against big teams also. The next test is against Tottenham in Emirates. There are two weeks for the game and it's quite enough for them to be well-prepared.

Arsenal knew they would win because Brentford are not playing well, they will struggle this season. Arteta knew it would be easy 3 points which would take them back to the top of the table. I think Arsenal will behind Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United and they will be challenging Liverpool for the 4th and final Champions League spot.

Arsenal will not be able to maintain their form, they will probably fade away out of the top three by the time 19 games have been played at the half way stage.

I'm also having difficulties in believing that Arsenal would keep this up throughout the season. They have generally failed when it comes to doing this. For now they have seemed like a more reliable team. At least they aren't making simple point losses for now. They might still not manage to stay as solid as Manchester City during the whole season.

Manchester City have a much stronger system thanks to Guardiola. They don't drop their guard down that easy. However Arsenal aren't in the same condition. I don't see much change in their game plan actually. They are in a really good mood when it comes to team effort these days. New transfers are making a really nice contribution to the team as well. But when the time comes and they start being shaky I wonder how good they will be able to deal with it. I'd like to remind you that Arsenal were doing well in the second half of the previous season but they started a really bad form on the final weeks and missed top 4 chance by a small gap.

We've sacked better coaches than Tuchel in the past when things weren't going well; they weren't sacked because they were bad coaches; they were sacked because they couldn't control the dressing room and the players weren't motivated. Tuchel may have had the opportunity to manage a bigger team, but that doesn't make Potter, who only had one shot at managing a big team, any less talented.

it is not the same thing to manage Chelsea or Brighton. the difference is in much greater expectations and much bigger pressure. Just remember Moyes, he has been very solid in Everton where they are satisfied with solid results. but when he arrived in the club where constant wins are an obligation, the pressure ate away at his abilities.
it's one thing when you manage a club like Chelsea, Man United or Liverpool were all "small" club comes to play the best they can, victory here means almost as much as winning the title. while it is something completely different when you play to stay in the middle of the table, and against big teams most people expect you to lose.
I completely understand your point, but I was just trying to let JollyGood know that managing a smaller team does not automatically make one a lesser manager; most of the time, you need a strong PR to manage a bigger club. I know coaches who got the opportunity to manage their first game in a bigger club, and I also know coaches who are really gifted in terms of tactical ability but are managing a smaller team.

The Moyes case is a perfect example, but I still believe he was not properly supported, like the other managers.

West Ham are in deep trouble as they sit in the relegation zone but Everton claim their first win of the season and move up the table. Arsenal go back to the top of the table after beating Brentford.
What's going on with this lot this season? It's shocking to see Westham go from being a contender for the Europa League to having only four points after seven games. They are two of my favorite clubs, and I am hoping that Moyes and Rodgers can get things back on track. Forest, N. Will be relegated again, and all 22 players they bought after getting rid of the players who promoted them will be for naught.

Arsenal made some really big and significant changes in the team which is really helping them to stay at the top of the table.

However, as you know, Arsenal has done this before. It is true that they have shown great promise, but in the end, they have not been able to deliver. I do not believe that it is going to be any different this time around. Even if Arsenal is on top of the table right now, I don't think they will be able to maintain their position after the next 3 to 4 weeks. Until now, Arsenal's biggest problem has been an inconsistency in their play. It should not be too difficult for them to stay in the top 3 at least as long as they are able to somehow fix that problem.

I still can't take the fact that Everton are having a better season than West Ham now.  Grin  I wonder what might have changed for West Ham after a really good season. They've been able to collect only 4 points after 7 weeks. I thought that the Aston Villa win would be a push for them but things are still going too bad for them. Their main problem is that they aren't able to score goals easily. Even Leicester have scored 10 goals despite having only 1 point.

They can't get enough contribution from Antonio on the front. He was one of the most important factors for the success of the team last season. They need him to show a similar level of performance to be more productive. Scamacca's arrival was exciting but he hasn't found much chance in the starting eleven yet. I mean he entered the matches late and didn't have a big time period to show his skills. While Antonio is like this they should give Scamacca a chance in the starting eleven in league matches. Maybe this might be a little help for their problem.

It certainly seems as though both Leicester City and Nottingham Forest will be relegated.

West Ham have just not clicked since the season began, they are not playing well at all but have the squad to turn around this disastrous start to the season.

Leicester City will sack Rodgers and find a new manager very soon, that is clear.

As for Nottingham Forest, after selling, releasing or loaning out a staggering 23 players before the season started and by bringing in 12 new players that did not even have enough time to gel together and understand each other, they have collapsed. They are paying Lingard something like £200,000 per week, that is the most ever in the whole 157 year history of the football club. Other players are getting well below less than half of that.

I don't see Leicester City being relegated; they have enough quality players to stay up. It's been a difficult season for the foxes and the manager because they didn't spend enough in the transfer window and they also lost some quality players from the first team. The owner hasn't done much for the club since his father died; it's been all about business. Since Fofana's departure, Ndidi has been playing CB because they didn't have much time to find a replacement.

N.Foest and Bournemouth don't deserve to stay up.

West Ham have just not clicked since the season began, they are not playing well at all but have the squad to turn around this disastrous start to the season.
Bowen, Antonio, and Souccek, as well as the majority of the first team players, have been terrible, but the fact that they continue to play says it all. Moyes must be brave and drop some of these players in order to give those willing to fight a chance. They spent £180 million on players this season; the players must prove their worth and contribute to the team's success. I feel bad for Moyes.

Leicester City will sack Rodgers and find a new manager very soon, that is clear.
He deserves better.

23 players!! They bought a new squad including a new GK.
I do not know why they made nearly 40 deals for players going in/out of the club before the season started especially after they were newly promoted to the Premier League

This is a full list of Nottingham Forest incoming transfers:

Taiwo Awoniyi [Union Berlin] £17.5m

Neco Williams [Liverpool] £17m

Giulian Biancone [Troyes] £5m

Jesse Lingard [Manchester United] Free

Ryan Hammond [Millwall] Free

Omar Richards [Bayern Munich] Undisclosed

Harry Toffolo [Huddersfield Town] Undisclosed

Lewis O’Brien [Huddersfield Town] Undisclosed

Dean Henderson [Manchester United] Loan

Moussa Niakhate [Mainz] Undisclosed

Brandon Aguilera [Alajuelense] Undisclosed

Wayne Hennessey [Burnley] Free

The manager will have his hands full trying to make these new 12 players as well as the players he did not move on after they achieved promotion at the end of last season. Bringing in so many players in one go is a huge risk for a newly promoted team. As for you asking how they managed to do it, it is easy they will pay Lingard £200,000 per week and then got rid of the following players and cut their wage bill:

Tyrese Fornah [Reading] Loan

Ethan Horvath [Luton] Loan

Will Swan [Mansfield] Loan

Tobias Figueiredo [Released]

Carl Jenkinson [Released]

Gaetan Bong [Released]

Marcelo Valencia [Released]

Josh Barnes [Released]

Lewis Grabban [Released]

Baba Fernandes [Released]

Sam Sanders [Released]

Morgan Thomas-Sadler [Released]

Joe Watkins [Released]

Mohamed Drager [FC Luzern] Loan

Jayden Richardson [Aberdeen] Undisclosed

Brice Samba [Lens] Undisclosed

Will Swan [Mansfield] Loan

Fin Back [Carlisle] Loan

Jonathan Panzo [Coventry] Loan

Riley Harbottle [Mansfield] Loan

Brandon Aguilera [Guanacasteca] Loan

Nicholas Ioannou [Como] Undisclosed

They clearly deserve to be where they are for unfairly treating the kids who got them promoted; they worked hard to get here, to play in the best league in the world, only to be loaned or released back to the championship. Anyone who advises them to get a new set of players deserves to be fired; there is no way you can get 20+ players and expect them to perform well right away; it will take some time for them to adapt. It was a bad idea to overhaul the entire team in a single window.

I wouldn't be surprised if they fired the coach after the international break because the team is poorly managed..

You are right, the team that worked so well working their way up from the bottom of the Championship table to get promoted to the Premier League after Steve Cooper their manager took over, those players have disappeared and so has the special team spirit.

Disposing of most of the original team and then bringing in all those players in a single window was a huge gamble which clearly has not paid off for Cooper or Nottingham Forest.

23 players!! They bought a new squad including a new GK.

Whose idea was it to get rid of those players? Cooper's or the DOF? I would say Cooper is to blame because no club would release a player if the manager insisted on keeping him unless the player was out of contract or had decided to leave. I believe the £180 million prize money from winning the play-offs motivated them. They have spent every penny on players and have nothing to show for it.

I do not know why they made nearly 40 deals for players going in/out of the club before the season started especially after they were newly promoted to the Premier League

I believe their chairman Evangelos Marinakis is probably behind most if the failings, it would be hard to fault Cooper if the owner is pulling the strings

Manchester City really have the strength to achieve the Premier League and Champions League title both this season. They had a very reliable performance against Wolves today. I'm curious about how many goals Haaland will score in this season. He has 11 goals in 7 matches already. He is the biggest candidate for the golden boot also even if it might be early to talk about it.

Tottenham - Leicester was an incredible match. Considering the result of the first half it seemed like it was going to be a very tough match. But Tottenham played the second half better as usual. Son had the biggest role in this 6-2 win by making a hat-trick. We weren't seeing him scoring any goal for a long time. It was good to see him breaking a leg finally and he did it with a very special performance. Now I'm believing more in Leicester to relegate this season. It must be really painful for their supporters to see their team this much weakened after one season. They finished last season at the 8th position so I wonder what has changed this much.
There is not much to be said for Tottenham. The team found itself with Conte. They used set pieces very well. In addition, the quick pass game is one of the best played teams in the league. Conte took Son into the game according to the course of the game and asked for a faster game and got results. Let's talk about Leicester City, when we look at the past weeks, the most problematic part of the team is the defense. They concede too easily and get demoralized very quickly, they lack the old self-confidence. There is an urgent need for reinforcements there, as well as the striker lines of the second troubled zone. Things like this happen in football, but it's hard for Leicester to recover.

It looks like we are getting very close to the end of Manchester United's incredible form in the league.  Grin

Because their next match is going to be against Manchester City in Etihad. There is no way Manchester United stand a chance in this match. It has been a really nice run by winning four league matches in a row. There were Arsenal and Liverpool among these opponents also which was really impressive. But both of these matches were in Old Trafford. This is their first big away match. Manchester City are the most difficult team they can face in the league. Manchester United defense will have a big responsibility to defend Erling Haaland. Most probably they won't be able to defend him properly also. He has huge strength that he hasn't had much problem with any defender while using his physique so far.

BTTS no @2.00 might be given a chance in my opinion. If Manchester City drop the guard of their opponent early then I don't think Manchester United can score even one goal. They still have a vulnerable defense now and they might lose their focus easily if they concede more than one goal in a short time.
