MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN
so which one of these is the most profitable?

...and if there are merge mining options we are really missing out by not implementing it as soon as posible.
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Just mine MRO. The others are not worth your time for a few % more profit. And pretty sure MRO is most profitable..

Profit calculator on whatmine.com shows out of the CryptoNight coins that QCN and FCN are more profitable than XMR most of the times.

I don't see how MRO is better than QCN Tongue
1. MRO was first
2. QCN was originally a relaunch of Monero
3. QCN has added no improvements to the code
4. MRO has contributed many bug fixes, 20x improvements in hashing speed, the pool software, has a reasonable fee so the blockchain can't be spammed, etc.

Profit calculator on whatmine.com shows out of the CryptoNight coins that QCN and FCN are more profitable than XMR most of the times.
The volumes for QCN and FCN are very low. Good luck selling much for those pumped prices.

5870 only ~ 70 h/s.

A little bit faster than my core i5 model M, the slowest core i5 CPU. Also, if you are using Claymore GPU miner you are charging a developer fee of 5%. Actually, GPU miner may mine at loss: high developer fee + high power consumption + pool fee

I don't see how MRO is better than QCN Tongue

QCN is a Monero clone which bring the following "advantages":

+ Incompetent dev: see commits from QCN devs in github  Wink
+ Weak network: orphan blocks all the time (too many, too frequent). Find them in any QC pool
+ Weak community

Another comparison (excluding pool/exchange fees/taxes):

Processor: 4820k, 4 cores w/ AES accel, 126w resting, 171w mining, 45w used for mining. Delivers 180 hash/sec. 4 hash/watt. Cost: $324 New. Hash/$ = .56 . Monthly Power cost (me): $5.185. Net @ 4.47M# = (.002532BTC/MRO * 29.18MRO/Month * $645.97/BTC) = $47.73. Net = $42.54. ROI = 7.6 months

GPU: r9 290, stock clocks, 216w used for mining (Comp w/ GPU mining - Comp w/ no GPU hooked to pwr.), 437.5 h/s. 2.02 hash/watt. Cost: ~$420 New. Hash/$ = 1.04 . Monthly Power cost (me): $24.4. Net @ 4.47M# = (.002532BTC/MRO * 70.92MRO/Month * $645.97/BTC) = $91.6. ROI = 4.6 months

GPU has about a 1.65:1 edge over the CPU for ROI
CPU has about a 1.97:1 edge over the GPU for hash/watt operating costs
GPU has about a 1.86:1 edge over the CPU for Hash/$ investment

Really interesting numbers .. too close to call it for either one at this point. Every update or optimization changes these numbers and there's been lots, for at least the CPU over the last month. Anyone know any other PoW that has such a small gap between CPU's and GPU's?

Edit: Forgot to mention this is on windows, you probably see much better numbers for at least the CPU on linux

Also Monero is a Bytecoin clone which:

Had an unfair launch
Has a too steep emission curve
