1041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 26, 2023, 10:30:24 AM
Same here, not in my wildest dreams that Canada would blew them out that way, though i bet for Canada,
Congratulations with your bet, you've won and that's like an unusual bet that you possible thought that it won't win.

i thought it was a risky bet since France is still loaded with NBA caliber talent but luckily for me they faltered and my bet won.
They sure are and that's why many think that they're going to make it easy for these line up matches. But Canada just upset them and they're not the only team with NBA players though just few than them.

Congrats on your win mate. France may have Fournier, Gobert, and an aging Batum but Canada in this FIBA tournament is reinforced by six NBA players and they're not just young but very talented. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made a huge performance of the night with a double-double. I expect Canada to play even better in their next games, especially RJ Barrett who seemed to have an offnight shooting.

It's really a good thing that I decided not to make bets during the first day of this tournament. I would've lost my Finland and France bets.

What do you think about the Warriors signing Blake Griffin to a 1 year deal at the minimum to make a CP3 lob city reunion? I think it’s a great idea from a business perspective and I also think it’s a great use for your final roster spot. CP3 and Griffin definitely have a chemistry that makes them more dangerous when paired together.

https://clutchpoints.com/nba-rumors-warriors-eyeing-blake-griffin-chris-paul-reunion-to-complete-roster

It's a positive move for the Warriors to acquire Griffin, given his popularity even though he's no longer in his prime. However, having high expectations for him seems somewhat unrealistic in my opinion, considering his performance over the last two seasons.

During his time with Brooklyn, he averaged 6.4 points per game, and in Boston, that dropped to 4.1 points per game. It appears he's approaching the twilight of his career. Nevertheless, he now has a chance to compete for a championship with the Warriors, and the encouraging aspect is that he'll do so alongside his friend CP3.

Indeed, Blake Griffin was a beast during his prime but he is nowhere near in that shape. His contributions on the court in the last few years were nothing significant. It's more about building team chemistry and mentorship in the team.

Anyway, I am not really hyped about the Warriors this coming season. Although I admit that they will always remain a dark horse knowing how deep their championship experiences are. We'll see if CP3 can turn back a few years of his game since this might be his last chance of getting a ring.
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: August 26, 2023, 09:14:41 AM
It was a nice flashback when I read the OP, it's a very good one for me as I made x5 of my deposit in the first month of my gambling experience and the withdrawal was smooth as well. This experience is running to two decades now when there was nothing like cryptocurrency. I started betting in sports, football to be precise and it has been my favourite since then.

From my experience, I will always prefer it when I want to bet with huge amount or get serious about betting. Otherwise, I gamble the rest for fun, I'm careful of the money to lose, so I can't really say there has been a good experience in my casino part, it's all for the fun.

I have the same experience in sports betting. The higher the bet, the higher the chances that I am very serious about it I followed the sports or team or player a lot and I also did additional research to support my bet. Although the amount is still something I can afford to lose. Dust amounts are like yolo bets to me and I do not feel the urge to make some serious analysis just like when we play at casinos.

So we all have different memories of our first gambling experiences. What matters most here is we are enjoying it and without regrets if we lose the money we are betting.
1044  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you must follow or use the services of trading signals providers on: August 26, 2023, 08:34:49 AM
It is good that we have a lot of members here who love to give advice about trading. And it is also true that as much as possible we also have to study and understand the signals that we are trying to follow.

But I also wonder if you guys are very good traders. Grin My last trades always started with a profit but then again, it only needs one bad trade and all profit will be wiped out. Maybe trading is not my luck since it's always been my fate when it comes to trading. But maybe it will change next year once we are in a bull run.
1045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Appromixly how much time needs to recover BNB $310 price on: August 24, 2023, 02:18:28 PM
I also have BNB. I believe they will continue to stay strong, especially its exchange. A lot of issues but the good thing about Binance is its willingness to work with the governments. I am confident $300 is very reachable next year if not this year.

Are you stressed or worried about your investment? I'd been in that situation before and I ended up selling all my holdings. Another option is to sell it and then buy a coin that you are more confident to hold. Bitcoin has been the most valuable coin in crypto ever since.

History! I also love geography. I wonder if there are people that loves history yet poor in geography?
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 24, 2023, 01:05:05 PM
Tapales' promoter is showing pictures of its fighter already in Los Angeles, USA to start its training. So it seems like the Inoue-Tapales undisputed battle is likely to happen. I assume the money issue is already settled and there are only a few details to finalize between the two teams. Otherwise, Tapales and this team are just spending money without a valid assurance. I am still hoping the fight happens in the US to make it neutral for both champions. Maybe Casimero can fight in the undercard to make the event more exciting.

1048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: August 24, 2023, 12:39:41 PM
All right, so here is the reason why Devin and his dad wanted to move the fight date earlier. For me, it makes sense to move the date otherwise they will go head-to-head against Tyson Fury's fight against Francis Ngannou. I mean this fight is the better match-up but most likely only for the boxing hard cores. But it is still a bitch move not consulting Regis Prograis especially since he is the defending champion. They can move the fight to a later date like a week or 2 after the Fury-Ngannou and not before that.

The Tyson Fury fight is in the early afternoon so there really shouldn't be a scheduling conflict. We often see that when there is a big fight in Europe or the Middle East, promoters will still schedule events for later in the day in the United States. It would only be an issue if they also want to make Haney vs. Prograis a pay-per-view fight because people wouldn't want to spend on two different fights in the same day. Neither of these guys is popular enough for this fight to be worthy of being pay-per-view. Haney is just being a diva for whatever reason.

I actually understand why they wanted to move the date. But I think that is not actually necessary to be honest. I believe the Haney fight is going to be a good one anyway. And there is no reason for him to make such a fuss about changing the date.

Obviously, people are going to want to see the other fight. Tyson Fury versus Francis, those two are definitely much more popular. And also will be able to bring in a huge amount of money. Because we got the interest of two worlds, two sets of fans, in this fight.

I assume this fight is on pay-per-view as well. Devin Haney is paid millions of dollars per fight since his fight over Kambosos so I guess a million or two is not enough for him anymore. I remember when Eddie Hearn upon knowing Haney's promotional contract with Top Rank expired mentioned that he is becoming an expensive fighter and that he might not afford his services anymore. So it simply means that his fights are going to be on PPV.

Devin Haney is popular only to hardcore fans and while Prograis is a KO artist, he doesn't have a huge fanbase as well. Fury-Ngannou is a mismatch and is nowhere near the quality of Prograis-Haney but Fury has a huge fanbase and Ngannou might have the backing of the huge MMA community.

Yes, just to be fair with Haney, if he fights Prograis, he should be considered the A-side as he has been fighting good to great boxers and beating them. However, Prograis, may not ring a bell for casual fans, but if you check his record, he is a very good boxer as well and a KO artist and he almost beat the last unified 140 lbs champion in Josh Taylor.

And that's what make this fight exciting for us, a KO artist in Prograis and then Haney using his defense to his advantage and maybe beat Prograis with that kind of strategy and not allowing himself to get hit by the power of Regis here. But this should be at least fair for Regis to also get a good money in the purse split as he had the belt here.

Agree. So the A-side here is the challenger. I haven't fully watched the Taylor-Prograis unification fight but the stats are actually favoring Prograis slightly. Prograis keeps talking about wanting a rematch against Taylor or a fight with Ramirez yet he made the opposite move by refusing Top Rank's bigger offer and went to Matchroom.

I wonder if this fight is still a go. I hope this fight goes on. I want to see how Haney fares against a proven champion at 140 while I am also eager to see if Prograis still has it or if he is already declining as seen in his last fight.
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you gained anything after the end of bull run? on: August 24, 2023, 12:10:00 PM
I just started accumulating altcoins slowly starting this year and so far it is still losing. Not a problem though as I am making a monthly DCA on altcoins as well so it is either I can average down or average up. My bitcoin DCA started only last December last year and it is having a good gain as I started purchasing at $15k.

I also have little holdings since 2021 and of course, they're also losing. But I have trust in bitcoin, ethereum and bnb so it's not an issue for me. The only thing I regret is when I invested in new projects in late 2021 and they're totally wrecked and I doubt they can recover. Some of the new projects I invested in late 2021 are scams since the devs left already.
1050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: August 24, 2023, 11:46:18 AM
This is a good fight.

Ancajas have defended his IBF belt for 9 times which mean he was a strong boxer, but later he lose two times against Martinez make me feel he's not that strong. On the other hands Takuma ever lose once against Nordine Oubaali, one of the best boxer at that time, so it's still understandable.

I don't expect KO in this match, so I guess Takuma will win via decision.

Same here. I also voted for Takuma Inoue by decision. As much as I would like to see Jerwin Ancajas getting another belt, I just see nothing special in him anymore. There is nothing new to him anymore which is not good as his opponents already read his moves and style. I wish he could demand a change of trainer so he can learn new tricks and strategies but I guess he is not the one deciding for his own career. I also do not like people around him vlogging. Jerwin's only chance of winning here is to hurt Takuma or much better if he stops him. Maybe set up a counter hook because I felt like Takuma would try to hurt or KO Jerwin.

Takuma Inoue is one hungry champion eager to prove that he is also a good fighter just like his brother. He should be able to win an easy decision here unless he tries to go toe-on-toe with Jerwin or he gets reckless.

1054  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: August 23, 2023, 11:20:56 AM
I am unsure if this is a shit post or a shame, but I found it funny in the Games and Round sections. The poster is pretty much active in the Games and Round section, but he probably did not pay attention when he wrote this.

a. Draw
b. 0-0
c.  None
d. Over
e. No
f.  87'

If you didn't catch what is the funny thing, let me explain to you. He predicted the match would be drawn by 0-0 goal. Also, he expected the first goal to be scored in the 87th minute of the game Grin Grin . The match result was 0-0, and he could be the winner only if he did not write the goal minutes.

I used to do something similar in sportsbet predictions.

I don't watch football, but just to take part and in hope for getting lucky I'd write random stuff up. Ofc this didn't work out and op of those threads banned me from participating altogether.

Yeah, I felt shame when I read the DM.

Lol! That's just a funny pick by Slissy. But pretty sure the guy knows his football. I used to play with him in the Qatar World Cup tournament last year. And I remember he was one of the participants that entered the round of 16. He's probably torn between a 0-0 or a possible late score which finally made him decide to just put a time on the first goal which made his prediction look funny. So I guess he was exempted from being banned by Jeremypwr.
1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 23, 2023, 10:11:24 AM
unfortunately, there's no live streaming available for this game. It appears to be a closed-door game once again.
Was it for most of the teams that are having tune up games that there's no way to watch a stream? I think there's a definite reason why they're keeping it closed doors so that these practice or tune up games are well protected and kept private in preparation for their actual games soon.

These teams are trying to figure out their playing styles, team chemistry and looking for their bad habits. So they are not exposing their games to the public. Otherwise, the rest of the teams especially their team group mates will have their own staff assessing it and will identify their strengths and weaknesses.

Anyways, just two more days before the official start. I'm looking forward to the opening game between betting favorites Australia against Finland. Looking forward to Lauri Markkanen and his gang pulling an upset against the Aussies who will compete with a lot of NBA players.
1056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do star players affect the odds of a match bet? on: August 23, 2023, 09:50:54 AM
Everything matters when it comes to the betting odds. I always consider the betting odds as the best when it comes to results assessments unlike mainstream media and other personalities talking about everything yet they are not putting their money where their mouth is.

Star players have the biggest effects on the betting odds. Just imagine Lionel Messi not playing for Argentina in the World Cup's final game? Or let's say Kylian Mbappé didn't play in the finals. Star players are being valued and assessed regularly so their effects level on the betting odds varies from time to time. A star player might be playing but if he is reported to have an injury then chances are the odds favoring his team will be lessened depending on how serious the injury is.
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Helped Create Big Changes In Your Life? on: August 23, 2023, 09:30:04 AM
Bitcoin changed my life. Crypto in general to be honest. Because of my investments which grow at an unexpected level, I was able to quit my regular job. One thing I do not like about having a regular job is that I am a night owl. I also have insomnia so I do not like to wake up early in the morning, prepare myself and then travel to my office. Not saying I don't need to work because, after all the failures to establish a business, I need to work to support myself although I decide on my own working time. I also made the biggest financial mistake of my life last late 2018 when I sold all my bitcoins in the $3k to $4k range fearing it might continue to drop down in value. No regrets though, what's done is done. Now I am starting back from scratch but very optimistic that I can get lucky again in the next bull run. So you are not late OP, I might be here for years already but I looked like a newbie just like you. Don't forget to DCA mate. Good luck to us.
1058  Economy / Economics / Re: Which problem will you choose to solve? on: August 23, 2023, 09:10:43 AM
When I was still a young kid studying, I used to think about becoming a useful human being by contributing something. There were times when I think about how to solve problems and issues be it world, national, or local level. I think about how important and how to become important in this world. And then I graduated college, got my first job, and grow mature. What did I learn? I learned about thinking about myself, building my own career, and being successful with it. As the years go by, we have our own struggles in life.

So it's like we need to become very successful first before giving a fck about the problem of the rich and even the poor. Only when you become successful that you deserved to speak about solutions for the rich or the poor. Otherwise, it's just talking without walking.
1059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth it to teach older people about bitcoin technology? on: August 23, 2023, 08:49:30 AM
Yes of course. But it is actually on a case to cases basis. Older people with less interest in technology are the hardest to teach. My father is interested in investing but is not into technology and the internet except Youtube and Facebook. Until now he still did not understand what bitcoin is about. So I also explain to him a bit if he asks. I am managing some of his investments in stocks which he understands a little since those companies with stocks are tangible like banks, food companies, real estate, and the telecommunication industry.
1060  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 22, 2023, 07:43:23 PM
So it's a few more days before the 2023 FIBA World Cup starts. At least NBA and basketball fans, in general, can once again watch NBA stars play. There are a lot of NBA stars representing their countries, headed by Dallas Mavericks' Luka Doncic. I haven't seen the odds yet but it's pretty interesting to see if the USA will retrieve the gold after failing to reach the final top 4 in the last FIBA World Cup. France, Australia, and the USA are probably the best picks to win the tournament but I love upsets to make the event more thrilling and exciting.
