Saylor’s $500,000,000 offering closes today. We should see another smash buy sometime in the next couple of days that sends BTC to another peak. That would probably make a good short term selling opportunity for traders, but the big boom is still ahead of us. I think by Halloween we should be sitting above $100,000, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we revisited $50K first.

I kind of want to see you destroy one of my coins… Can we start sending you crypto related items to destroy on film for us?
903  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Eclipse - Fuck Ledger on: March 18, 2024, 05:04:05 AM
Nicely done video. The production quality was great. I can’t help but wonder about the story behind the video though. Can you enlighten us as to the inspiration for it? I also agree with you.
904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake and Bruno Mars An Example of How Gambling Addiction Can Affect Anyone on: March 18, 2024, 04:58:43 AM
I really don’t think Drake has a problem. If anything, he’s probably only betting the amounts he gets from stake for promoting the brand. If he loses it probably has no effect on him whatsoever, but if he wins then it is probably one hell of a payday for him. Not to mention he can post massive bets on social media and get a ton of promo from it. I wouldn’t call it gambling addiction at all.

What tools do you guys use for figuring out your tax obligations?

edit: for your bitcoin transactions I mean

I usually only have 1 sell per year so taxes aren’t all that difficult. Especially if you consider taxes beforehand and make sure that the amount you sell corresponds with an amount that you can easily show a cost basis for. That simplifies things a great deal.

Raw milk or straight from the cow's teet might be good.

When I drink it straight from the teet the farmer gets mad at me.
907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 17, 2024, 07:02:30 PM
Shams is reporting that Isaiah Thomas is signing a 10-day contract with the Suns. I think this is a great signing because Isaiah has earned another chance in the NBA, the Suns lack a true point guard, and if this goes bad it’s only a 10-day contract. I’m really hoping it works out though because I think Isaiah got a bum deal in Boston and should have been rewarded for his loyalty and sacrifice.

It's fun to see the bears come out on the weekend and try to be cute only to go back in hiding come Monday. Pathetic.
I don’t think the bears came out as much as Saylor’s billion dollar buy sent it upwards previously. I fear he may have already made his $500,000,000 buy as well since he did his last one over the weekend. Monday could be a bloodbath as a result, but it’s probably important to get BTC out of the weak hands that purchased just for quick gains because it was rising.

You mean that other BIG players are going to dump on Saylor just to attempt to "teach him a lesson?"

No, I mean that Saylor’s billion dollar smash buy sent the price artificially higher and now it’s settling back to where it would have been otherwise.

Also, Saylor is the one dumping MSTR. Is he doing that to “teach his investors a lesson” or is he just choosing to take profits on an investment he feels is overvalued?

I see some hate towards milk on this thread and I’m not sure how I feel about that. I drink close to half a gallon of milk a day. Usually straight from the jug like a beast. Is there really anything better than milk, red meat, and potatoes drenched in butter? I think not.

I’m getting a late start on my push-ups today. Been a busy weekend and I am very sunburned.

I got two sets of fifty in today for the first time. It felt pretty good. I feel like there’s hope that I could get to 100 straight by the time we hit $100K if I can manage to keep it up. This challenge has been going on long enough now to where I’m proud to see people sticking with it. I know I would have missed a day by now if I didn’t have this thread going so thanks to all the participants.
If you continue hitting the 100 push-ups in two sets for some weeks, it will get used to your body, and you will not want to do any push-ups that are below fifth because you will not want to reduce your morale of hitting 100 push-ups one day in a set. After you have done the fifty push-ups for some weeks and gained some strength, you can increase it to 70 push-ups in a set to see if you can handle it. If you successfully handled the 70 push-ups without too much struggle, then you can now do the 100 push-ups in a set because you have prepared your body for it.  have prepared your body for it.

I’m actually surprised at how good it feels. Doing only 2 sets lets me get my 100 push-ups in before noon. That gives my body twice as much time to recover as when I was doing 25 right before bed and then 25 more when I wake up. I’m barely getting through 50 at a time so 100 is still a long ways off, but I’m hoping to continue seeing improvement.
912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH, SOL or other... Who will be the protagonist of this cycle? on: March 16, 2024, 07:10:06 AM
I can’t really speak looking forward because I don’t watch these markets very well. I can say that Solana seems to be having its day in the sun at the moment. It’s up more than 20x off the lows and has continued to rise even as seemingly everything else crashed the last couple days. Its performance has been impressive.

Zion is looking pretty good his last few games and helped the Pelicans beat the Clippers tonight. This is his second 30+ point outing in a row and his stats have been improving a lot lately each game. I’m half expecting him to go for 40 in his next game. I love to see him leading the team in minutes. He seems to finally be getting it together.

Believe it or not, this kind of "more solid dump" is good for the price in the long (in this cycle) term. As much fun as a continuous ATH is, the reality is that price overheating "too much too fast" usually ends bad.

This is -perfectly- FINE.

Yes. This is the market’s way of making sure that nobody gets a free ride. Too many people see the price going up and dump in some money with ridiculous leverage trying to become overnight millionaires. That isn’t fair for the rest of us who have stacked for years, so the market wipes out all leverage any chance it gets. This is just so longtime Bitcoiners don’t have their lunch eaten by fly by night gamblers posing as investors.

Seeing more clips from McGregor’s drugged out interview… It seems like he’s now setting his sights on KSI and the boxing influencer circuit. This is the sort of thing he would have made fun of a few years ago but a YouTube boxing run is probably the only fights he has left. I don’t think he ever wins another UFC fight in his career. You can’t go from world class fighter to drug addict and then back to world class fighter.

Oh ya! Another multi bet win (unless the Knicks blow their lead in the 4th, but it’s pretty big). Granted the odds weren’t exactly going to retire anyone anytime soon, but a win is a win. Hope everyone had a great day of gambling on NBA basketball. Tomorrow I might have to switch up sports.

we ded?

Just setting the bear trap. Gotta let the shorts get comfortable enough to double down. I wouldn’t be shocked if this went all the way down to $50K, but the real fireworks are still months out. I suspect by Halloween this will look like a buying opportunity.
919  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 14, 2024, 07:57:26 PM
Poor again.

oh well.

Dinner....

It’s over. Seriously though, it’s funny the way human behavior works. I too am sad seeing this drop and it feels like the end of the world. However, it’s important to remember that we just dropped 4 days worth of gains. That’s basically nothing. We’ll see where it goes from here, but I don’t think we’ve come close to the high of this cycle yet.
920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 14, 2024, 07:25:58 PM
How about the games between the Bulls and the Pacers, DeRozan put up a massive 45 points in a win in OT against the home team Pacers. I thought that the Pacers are going to win without going into OT, but DeRozan mid range shot proved to be still his best weapon, him and Kawhi I would consider has put that as their main weapons, and no one can stop it with their fade away shots.

However, I'm not a hater of Bulls, but there are games that they are inconsistent that's why I stay away from betting on them. But congrats to those who have ride on them on this big win against the Pacers.

I haven't watched my Chicago Bulls real closely all year, but last night I was tuned in from begging to the end, and it sure disappoint, which is normally what happens with my Chicago bulls.

DeRozan is one heck of a player, and honestly I'm wondering why he's still on the Bulls.  I of course love him and having a great player like him on the team, but they suck, and aren't anywhere near competing for anything meaningful, I just don't understand why he wasn't traded.  Anyways, great OT shot, what a player.

DeRozan is a great player, but he's in the wrong era.  His strength seems to be midrange game and he's not the most skilled player at getting open shots.  I once saw a stat that showed DeRozan takes a higher percentage of shots with close coverage from the defender than any other player in the NBA.  That shows me he either needs teammates that can spread the floor and get him open, he takes bad shots, or he struggles getting open either by moving away from the ball or using dribbling skills to get to his spot.  In the 80s he would have dominated probably.  Today, his game just isn't fit for what works in the NBA.  That's why I think Toronto had to get rid of him to win a championship.  He's a hell of a player, but his style isn't efficient enough at getting points to help his team win.
