1761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If the Governments Planned to Keep the Limited 21 Millions BTC in Their Custody on: August 13, 2022, 04:25:48 PM
The government doesn't have enough funds to hold all 21 million pieces of Bitcoin, no country can afford to do that and not all government parliaments approve such a proposal, if there is one.

Every country has an incoming and outgoing budget every month and year, you have to consider that, every government has its own rules in determining the budget.

Man can you at least read the first page of replies and see how quickly you'll find sweeping statements like this to be wrong.

Even if all coins were already in circulation and in a single wallet, the total value isn't the figure you think it is.

Might want to look up your country's budget and see what they're spending on, say, if I'm guessing right where you're from, religion.

I beg to disagree- the funds of the government are absolutely high than you think. The debt of my country is around trillions of dollars at this point, in which it is possible for a country to store and receive all the circulating BTCs in the market. But the question is, why would the government do this? There is no economic benefit especially in the long-run if they do this. In fact, they just bring more harm than good to their economy if they decide to do this move.

In addition, it somehow defeats the purpose of decentralization if the government were to acquire majority or all of the BTCs in the market (which is nearly impossible to happen).
1762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your General Feeling After Playing In Casino In the last 10 session on: August 13, 2022, 04:17:42 PM
Gambling gave us a lot of mixed feelings and emotions after we play,
 - we feel excited when we make a profit
 - entertained when we never expect or lose or win and gave us entertaining results,
 - depressed when we expect or our goal to play is to win and we have a strategy to do that but we failed and lose our money
 - Feel sorry when we already win a jackpot but decided to extend and continue playing thinking that its' our lucky day but
   eventually, lose everything.
 - Excited to come back because you want to get the roller coaster ride of winning and losing.
What Is Your General Feeling After Playing In Casino In the last 10 sessions?

I think you should add another option in the poll of "feeling dissatisfied" with the results. Being dissatisfied does not entirely that they feel depressed, as the latter connotes a more emotional and deep loss due to their gambling activities.

Personally, what I feel after playing in the casino in the last 10 sessions depends on the outcome. Most of the time, my winnings are just balanced by the wins and losses; there were also times were I felt dissatisfied since I lost some cash; and there were also times were I was ecstatic due to winning relatively large amounts of winnings in one night.
1763  Economy / Gambling / Re: I Have a Question ~ Are 1xbit Campaigners Playing on 1xbit? on: August 13, 2022, 04:09:21 PM
I actually doubt so- majority of the people participating into this campaign are the ones who have alt accounts who were previously negatively tagged due to an infarction to the forum rules. Since most of their accounts are just lying around, they took advantage of this "scheme" to participate into 1xbit campaign purely for profits and money.

To be honest, I also do think that the people advertising 1xbit believes that the latter is a scam gambling website. But just because they are paying users in attractive rates, they are just taking advantage of this pay at the end.
1764  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need suggest on: August 12, 2022, 11:55:32 PM
I bought many tokens, the price is now much lower than the money I bought it with. Is there a possibility that the market will rise in the future?

 Welcome and recommend me please

If you are looking for an advice, it is essential that you provide all the details necessary for your help. Since you mentioned that you bought "many tokens", please indicate next time which tokens you purchased so that people would have an idea about its information and data.

Due to the lack of complete information, it is somehow difficult to speculate which token may be applicable to your given case. But for your reassurance, cryptocurrencies are highly volatile in price. Either its price increases or decreases depending on the circumstances. Since you mentioned that the price is much lower than the money you bought with it, try having a price threshold of the maximum amount you are willing to lose.
1765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Finally Helped My Friend Invest $50000 Into BITCOIN for Retirement. on: August 12, 2022, 11:47:37 PM
Convincing him to get into bitcoin is a pretty good move as long as you also educate your friend how to properly secure his asset. Because if not, I am certain that you'll be having a bad day when those bitcoin gets lost either by getting hacked or losing the seed phrase.

Teach him at least some basic cyber hygiene.

In addition to convincing him to proper securing his asset, I would also like to recommend that investing BTC for retirement does not entirely mean that you have to HODL for a certain long period of time. For example, half of the $50,000 ($25,000) can be used as a short-term investment where your friend may convert to cash once the price of BTC increases in the market.

Remember that the volatility of BTC's price makes it a perfect opportunity to invest in either short or long-term. Since its price already reached an all-time-high of $60,000, chances are that it would probably reach that price again in the near future.
1766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling myths that we often hear on: August 12, 2022, 04:21:17 PM
I'll add that many (newbies, kids) think that Martingale or similar strategies are a safe win. Of course, until they face a long enough losing streak... Does it count?

Like what I mentioned to my previous replies, the Martingale strategy only works if you have a decent amount of capital that can shoulder the exponential loss if you were to experience a losing streak. Unfortunately, most see this method as the most convenient way of gambling but this is also the most risky due to its nature.

One gambling myth that I heard from my country is that you should feed the remains of your ancestors to cockfighting chickens so that they could win their match. When my grandfather passed away, his body was cremated, thus some of his bones remained solid (though fragmented). My father used some of the bones as chicken feeders which was mixed into their food since they believed that it would give him a winning outcome in the fight.
1767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best time to play gambling on: August 12, 2022, 03:26:30 PM
Perhaps for a gambler, where gambling is a vice in his personality, I don't think it matters if he is at the right time to gamble, Especially if he is a rich person, the money he will lose is a sure thing for him at a casino. He can gamble anytime he wants, whether a gambler is lucky or unlucky, it doesn't matter for sure.

And what you are saying is only for ordinary gamblers who enter a casino just looking for luck to get the jackpot on a gambling platform. And not for rich people who love to gamble. Then for a gambler who is not rich or just a casual gambler, it might not be bad if I believe in Fung shui when I play in a gambling.

I think the post adheres to the time that rewards are most likely be given more compared to the usual time where gamblers gamble. For example, if there are promotional giveaways depending on the month where the person gamblers (e.g. Christmas or holidays), most likely that gambling websites would offer more bonuses and rewards per bet.

This guide gives a timeframe on which time to gamble, not specifically for slots as it maximizes the rewards that the person is betting on. But you are partly right- these promotions are only catered towards people who gamble for profit and not for entertainment.
1768  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph suspended my account without valid reason on: August 11, 2022, 11:28:47 PM

Ahh so sa BloomX, need pa ng confirmation by their office before you can withdraw your funds? So subject siguro nila to under their discretion whether to accept or the reject the transfer? May mga cases ba na nag request ka for cashout pero na deny ito? Curious talaga ako dito since nag hahanap ako ng alternatives to cash out my BTCs given na restrictive si coins.ph dito.

Siguro one downside dito is that makakapag cash out ka lang during their office hours kaya medyo limited yung timeframe kung kailan ka makakuha. Pero siguro in a way, mas lalo kang makakapag ipon if ganito yung system.
1769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The US government is targeting mixers. Are BTC mixers next? on: August 11, 2022, 11:02:53 PM
Given that Mixers make your transactions more anonymous by mixing funds with other transactions, no wonder that governments are against it and they are consistently tracking them down. I remember, there was a mixer being advertised here in this forum and it was subsequently closed due to regulations and implementation issues.

Expect more mixers to be targeted consistently by the government due to their nature being highly risky and potentially dangerous to the public. Though I am against it, if the government decides to pursue something, they will be relentless and unforgiving at the same time.
1770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sources of gambling news on: August 11, 2022, 10:33:36 PM
I was wondering if there are reliable sources of gambling news.
For example, we have sites for political news, fashion news, sports news, weather news, and so on but I never come across sites where there is gambling-related news.
Will appreciate it if anyone shares the gambling new sources as it will be additional beneficial for the gambling community.

As far as I know, there are tons of gambling-related news by just searching in Google. You would find most of what you need by utilizing the search bar on a search engine and you decide, based from your discretion, which news outlet/website is most trusted and used.

Though personally, gambling-related news should be more advertised. I do think that by consistently showing data and statistics of players who win vs who losses, this would somehow help in preventing gambling addiction as a whole.
1771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Problem Gambler Feels After Losing on: August 11, 2022, 03:00:30 PM
Join Community, are most people addicted to gambling because they are anti-social people? It's not easy to change the habits of a person who doesn't have a social life and then join a community for any reason, especially if that person is already addicted.
Feelings will be even more depressed when the money used is completely exhausted because don't have the money to go back to chasing what have lost.

Do we have counseling sessions for gamblers where they are taught how to control their risk, and how to control their emotions after a loss or a win? No, we don't have.

How can we expect the majority of gamblers to behave like a professional and not regret or chase losses when there is no governing body to teach them? We don't provide any sort of tutorials to gamblers and accept them to be clever and intelligent enough to solve all their problems on their own.

Actually, while this may be true, having a support system here in the forum gives gamblers the extra sense of security that an entity or a project is actually caring for them.

Most gamblers are addicted due to the nature of their addiction, stemming from a need that they have to do. For example, gamblers typically gamble in order to pay for their expenses, bills, etc. while only a fraction of gamblers do such act purely out of entertainment. The former is most likely to suffer from addiction and bankruptcy.

This kind of initiative is what we need in this forum- something free and open that anyone could speak. Given that there are gambling advertisements all throughout, this kind of movement is highly appreciated.
1772  Local / Pilipinas / Re: GCash offering crypto services soon on: August 08, 2022, 09:31:04 PM

Maganda talaga sana coins.ph for an exchange. Very convenient ito and ang dali mag convert from crypto to cash para makapag bayad ka ng mga bills, etc. Pero over the years na ginagamit ko si coins.ph, mas lalo silang nagiging restrictive and strict sa TOS nila.

I remember, wala pang EKYC before siguro around years of 2017. When they implemented EKYC, they even asked for my GCash transaction history, etc. para lang ma-prove na legit yung origin ng funds ko. Now na naging okay na ang lahat, when they found out na yung proceeds ng BTC ko ay nanggagaling sa isang gambling website, they restricted and limited my withdrawal limits.

Kaya to be honest, nag hihintay talaga ako na magkaroon ng malaking competitor si coins.ph kasi medyo sumosobra na talaga sila sa regulations nila.
1773  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can trading be likened to gambling and how so? on: August 08, 2022, 09:25:26 PM
Now we all know that before going into trading or gambling its advisable to be emotionally stable and to involve a certain sum you're willing to risk etc, all these are similarities shared both in gambling and trading too.

With  these few above I think a clear discussion can well surface to clear the air about a likelihood or not.

I doubt so- while both may have their respective risks, trading cannot be likened to gambling.

Gambling is the act of participating into various games (e.g. cards, slots, etc.) with the risk of either winning/losing depending on the wagered amount. On the other hand, trading involves the skill of anaylzing both the intrinsic and extrinsic factors that will arrive and support your conclusion whether to purchase or to sell your coins. While both may involve their respective risks, they have different mechanics that would dictate the pace of your investments.

Generally, gambling is more flexible in a way that you can experiment with other games that would yield you higher chances of winning. Unlike in gambling, trading is more of studying the market and accurately predicting the price.
1774  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why People Use Bitcointalk on: August 08, 2022, 08:56:40 PM
Almost From Seven Month i use Bitcointalk Forum. I see that have many Forum same like Bitcointalk. For Example, Cryptotalk, Altcointalk, Bitcoingarden etc Forum. But Why People Always like and Use This Bitcointalk Forum.

Simple: because bitcointalk.org is the largest and biggest cryptocurrency forum out there.

While there may be some forums similar as to this one, the biggest difference lies also on who created the website. Imagine, the person who started this innovative idea was also the one who created this forum. Given that factor, lots of people and traffic are also in this forum which makes it the most active cryptocurrency forum to date. Lots of companies and businesses have used this platform to advertise, sell, and buy various products in exchange for cryptocurrencies.

Even if there may be lots of forums about cryptocurrencies, the fact still remains that people are active here.
1775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Early Adopters rich? on: August 08, 2022, 08:37:16 PM
I just wonder: are Early Adopters rich?
We know AA, author of "Mastering Bitcoin" was once attacked because he did not made any fortune having BTC from early years, then people donated some BTC and he collected around 100BTC.
Hal F's wife sued "I am Satoshi guy" and they were talking about $ 3-digit mln, so they are not kind of people who wait every month for their wage.
What about others? Bitcoin Core developers? Forum admins or well-known old users? Are they crazy rich living in their own castles or did they lost their coins, sold for $10 because of mortgage loan or student's debt and today they must work 7-15 every day?

Well, you could say that there are some people who made a fortune HODLing majority of their BTCs at their designated wallets.

While majority of these people have sold their BTCs during the time when its price was relatively low, there are a quite few people that I know that HODLed their BTCs and until now, they have quite a few at their wallets. But imagine if you were one of those people who were fortunate enough to have lots of BTCs back in the days, chances are that you would probably sold them at a price around $100 when it first came out.
1776  Other / Archival / Re: Entrepreneurship or Office job? on: August 08, 2022, 03:09:37 PM
The struggle between the decision of being your own boss and working under someone is becoming more difficult to make as economic situations become tougher. From evaluation around me, self proclaimed entrepreneurs are quitting entrepreneurship because of difficulty in maintaining a business and reduced sales due to reduced purchasing power from people, an effect of the economic situation. Office workers on the other hand who also have been on one salary grade for a long time now are becoming fed up with how their monthly salary is no longer sufficient to secure a comfortable lifestyle for a month also due to the higher cost of living. What do you think is the way forward?

Why not keep both? While I understand that you cannot serve two masters at once, you can use your office job as a startup in order to build that capital needed for your business in the future. Being an entrepreneur means that you have to sacrifice your time and focus on developing something that the public would need.

If you lack the business capital for the business, then I highly suggest to earn money using your job in order to fund it for your business. Investing into cryptocurrencies may provide an extra layer of security as this may guarantee profit depending on its price on the market.
1777  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale Betting Strategy on BlackJack, how effective it is? on: August 08, 2022, 02:59:23 PM
Very effective, as long as everything just keeps going according to plan. But then the inevitable happens, you lose 7 bets in a row. Knowing that you started with a $1 bet, that's a decent amount. 1,2,4,8,16,32,64 already lost together. Then you have to bet 128$ the 8th time to be able to win only 1$. Then you realize it's crazy. Again, it could work but you need high table limits and be able to absorb 10 losses in a row by continuing to gamble. It may happen that you have lost even 12 times in a row and you are still betting to only win 1$. Not logical actually.

This is very true. Like what I usually comment when people ask for a strategy, the martingale system comes into mind. But the only limitation comes with the amount of capital that you are willing to shoulder in case of a losing streak. As you all know, the higher the losing streak, the higher the money that you have to bet in order to neutralize you losses in the given bet.

Personally, the martingale strategy works best for me. My brother also used the same strategy but there was a time where he had to bet like $500 in order to recover all of his previous losses. At the end of the day, this strategy is not for the faint hearted.
1778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Running household expenses with gambling on: August 08, 2022, 12:00:35 PM
Is it possible that we can run our household expenses with gambling ?

I am asking for those people who don't have any skill or job ?

I do not see this idea feasible in the long-run given the nature of gambling that is highly unpredictable.

When we mean by household expenses, this include everything from your food, lodging, electric bills, and all other monthly expenses. These type of expenses are what we call running expenses since they consistently incur every month. If you attempt paying them with something that is unpredictable, chances are that you will incur more obligations and credit in the long-run.

Quote
The lesson learned was that it is better to move closer to what is new to us than to be condemning it from afar. Can you imagine that despite having enough money to invest in the cryptocurrency between 2019 -2021, I was adamant that I wouldn't because I believed Bitcoin aids legalities like trafficking, money laundering, terrorism, activities of drug barons, and many more. I forgot to think that as it has its advantages, it also has its disadvantages, no system works perfectly.

Thanks to the present-day awareness, development and regulations that make it clear that Bitcoin is not as porous as I thought. 95% of my only transactions are now crypto-based.

I love to read your stories about Bitcoin adoption too!

Ahh yes, this is how media stigmatized the cryptocurrency that we love due to the recent issues associated with it.

It is no surprise that BTC has been tagged as the way for money launderers to move their money and for people to use it as the main currency under the dark web. But in reality, it could be any currency! Heck, you can even accomplish those illegal stuff with fiat also. I do think media played a significant role of twisting the real image of BTC, disregarding the innovation behind the technology.

Good thing is, more and more people are starting to realize its positive than the negative effects. More countries are starting to adapt it as part of their payment system and as their legal tender.
1780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Japanese Animation Slot Machines on: August 07, 2022, 11:31:30 PM
What do you think about these japanese slot machines?
Do you like them?
Would you gamble on them?

I mean, I would definitely try them out as this idea is somehow of an innovation towards your conventional gambling slot machines. But if you are asking if I would get addicted to them, chances are that I will not. The problem with slots revolve around the probability of winning the prize money, which is absolutely low. You would definitely cost more money in the process than to win the actual prize by probability.

Though that may be the case, the innovation introduced would definitely bring and attract more users into slots. This seemingly harmless addition is potentially dangerous in making people getting addicted by introducing anime aspects of it in your gambling games.
