According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

With reference to 0.2.4 PR1

I am having issues setting the Static IP using wicd-curses. After making the necessary changes and hitting the SHIFT-C I am unable to connect to the new IP address (and neither does the dynamic IP work). Was not an issue with the prior release. Just thought you might want to look into that (if this is indeed a bug)

Cheers

Not going to be much help in terms of troubleshooting, but i tried 0.2.4 PR1 and found that it wouldn't detect my usb wireless card like the previous version did. not sure what all changed to cause that. also would like to note, using 2.3a, cgminer doesn't seem to work with my ztex. keeps saying there are hardware errors and removes and readds the ztex device as a new one. bfgminer seems to work fine so i have switched to that.

I will do some more testing on wireless tonight to see if I can sort it out, I had not spotted any problems but I don't run my miners wireless.  I did buy a Pi and a wireless USB dongle though just to test this sort of thing and it arrived today.

ZTEX has been removed from cgminer (it is an only and cranky driver) so yeah, bfgminer is the only one that supports it now.

Download again sorry, there are a few OS changes.  Mainly addition of i2c smbus for the upcoming LCD plugins and I have cut down SD card writes even more.

Done 4 SD's. And what about a second "New Password" field, to guarantee that there is no error in the digitation of the new password? That feature was already in 0.2.3 version.

I still have the date problem... BFGMiner still starts before the RPI can have time to go to the NTP server...

Sorry for the nub question. But are there instructions for setting it up with a static ip. I don't seem to be having any luck with getting the pr2 image static IP working. Had no problems with the 0.23a version

Cheers

I noticed on 0.2.4 PR1, that within sudo wicd-curses, go to preferences (shift+P) it had the wired interface setup as ifb1, I changed it to eth0, saved (f10) went back to the main screen, then went into the preference for eth0 (should be first device on the list, you use the right arrow to go into the configuration for said device), setup the static ip information, saved (F10), then connected (Shift+C) and all was good.

Hope that helps.

Another option... Set a DHCP lease in your router for the MAC address. It sure makes it easy when you reload your image as that never changes, it will always be the same IP. Less to configure if you do reload or try a test build.

Does anybody know if minepeon supports the HEX16A miner build by marto74?
No minepeon only supports devices that are supported by official builds of bfgminer and cgminer

Are there any instructions on how to manually update just the CGMINER to the latest version by getting it directly from the GIT?

Or are there any specific configurations that needs to be done first>?

Cheers

Is there a specific reason that you need the latest version - i.e. does it fix a problem you are having or solve a security issue ?
