I'm surprised that Grosjean and Magnusen stayed in F1 for so long. They had good seasons in early yers of career, but in recent years they haven't achieved anything significant, I can only remember crashes.
I don't know their situation but a lot of players have a seat only because they bring a lot of money as sponsors for the team. Sometimes the underperforming driver will keep the seat even if is stronger than his teammate. Happy to see Shumi junior in F1. Anyway, they have a proposal for next year. 23 GP! But if they are going with this solution, they will have only 1 session of free practice decreasing from 3 but increasing the duration up to 90 minutes and they will add some test days in some GP after the GP as it happens in Moto GP and it happened in Formula1 years ago. What do you think if they will do the change from 3 days F1 to 2 days?

Furthermore Shumi Jr has some big shoes to fill as everyone will expect him to race like his father did, and I hope that he can absorb all the pressure and perform brilliantly in F1. Just 2 instead of 3 days wouldn't make that much difference I think. All the drivers are practicing in simulators so they know the tracks well.

This weekend we are racing in Portugal F1 and the fun fact about this track is that last four races have been all won by Williams team. They know they can’t repeat another victory under normal conditions so they have posted this in their Instagram page saying that anything can happen and may be we can make it 5 wins in a row although this sounds a lot improbable.

The F1 race should be an interesting one this weekend. It's an unusual track with some considerable elevation changes across the lap, which brings a new challenge. It will be new to most drivers as it's never been an F1 race before. However, it's perhaps notable that Hamilton has driven here before (testing for McLaren in 2009), so that may give Ham a slight advantage (not that he needs one)...

What a strange accident was that between Verstappen and Stroll. Wondering if someone will be penalyst.
Hard to point out who's fault this was. Do they have race accidents in FP ? ;-)

All these new places that weren't there will be such a great addition, probably the only thing that is good about this whole horrible pandemic, normally everything about pandemic has been disturbingly bad, but this new addition of old places will be awesome.
I can't wait for Turkey for example, last time we had Turkey on the schedule Mercedes wasn't this good if I remember correctly, and now with them being this great and Hamilton breaking records over records, it is getting a lot entertaining to see how they will fare with the new places.
Portugal will be a good challenge as well, he already broke the record and he is up there with the bests, that is not a doubt in mind, but will he stop working hard? Will he just race laid back? Or will he continue his dominance? I really don't know but I wouldn't bet on him just this one race tbf.

Too bad for Grosjean, things looked very promising at the very beginning with Haas, but that didn't last. The car being a Ferrari copy at first, the fact it dropped quickly in performance illustrates the difficulty of F1 development. Keep in mind he won many many junior championships, he didn't come out of nowhere. From what I can find he has no big sponsor/family member bankrolling his career, here are his partners : https://www.romaingrosjean.com/en/partners/

Ferrari brought the last step of improvement for this year. Its aim only the 2021 car with maybe a small improvement in this year's car. Keep in mind they can't touch the engine since the regulation is a joke and that is the biggest problem at the moment but the upgrade let the fans hope. 1 Valtteri BOTTAS Mercedes1:17.940 7 2 Max VERSTAPPEN Red Bull Racing+0.595 5 3 Lando NORRIS McLaren+0.803 4 4 Charles LECLERC Ferrari+0.898 5 5 Carlos SAINZ McLaren+1.173 4 6 Sebastian VETTEL Ferrari+1.235 4 7 Pierre GASLY AlphaTauri+1.238 2 8 Lewis HAMILTON Mercedes+1.368 4 9 Esteban OCON Renault+1.556 4 10 Alexander ALBON Red Bull Racing+1.703 4 11 George RUSSELL Williams+1.881 5 12 Sergio PEREZ Racing Point+1.961 5 13 Daniel RICCIARDO Renault+2.047 4 14 Nicholas LATIFI Williams+2.525 6 15 Kimi RÄIKKÖNEN Alfa Romeo Racing+2.550 4 16 Kevin MAGNUSSEN Haas F1 Team+2.740 5 17 Daniil KVYAT AlphaTauri+2.789 5 18 Romain GROSJEAN Haas F1 Team+2.927 4 19 Lance STROLL Racing Point+3.043 3 20 Antonio GIOVINAZZI Alfa Romeo Racing+3.456 Source: https://www.oasport.it/2020/10/live-f1-gp-portogallo-2020-in-diretta-buoni-segnali-per-la-ferrari-nel-venerdi-di-portimao-bottas-leader-in-fp2/

Such intensive calendar with 23 races probably isn't very good for drivers, but for fans it's good thing. I think they adding more races because of Covid-19 situation in case if some races will be canceled like this year. Probably they want to make at least 20 races in order not to lose revenue from TV and sponsors. I mean last 4 races in Portugal not in the actual season. They took place a long time ago.I think you have misunderstood me.
Actually, it's first F1 race ever in this track, previously Portugal GP was held in Estoril. BTW, I really like this track with, it looks fun track to dfrive, there is so many elevation points when car goes up and down. What a strange accident was that between Verstappen and Stroll. Wondering if someone will be penalyst.
Hard to point out who's fault this was. Do they have race accidents in FP ? ;-)
Yeah, we rarely can see such accidents in practice. I think there was both drivers fault. Stroll didn't looked into his mirror and closed the doors for Max. While Max was sure that Stroll won't go for another fast lap and that he will leave space for him.

I don't think they will go down to 20, I think they will go up to 30 Instead . Drivers are happy to racing they enjoy it. The objective of F1 is always the same, to make more money possible from TV, more races more money! I personally love the idea to go up to 30 GP/year in 3-4 years and having only 1 day for free practice/qualify.

I would like to see Perez and Hulkenberg in Haas, but it won't happen. Only one of them probably will join Haas and I think it will be Perez - he have rich sponsors behind him. Yeah, I expect that Mick Schumacher will replace Giovinazzi in Alfa Romeo. So, another young driver from F2 will join Haas. Who it can be? Shwatrzman, Ilott, maybe Mazepin. I just hope it won't be rich sponsored driver without talent like Latifi. That's correct, i also think Perez with a rich Sponsor will get the first Haas cockpit. I hear about Schwartzman and probably he is a very great Talent, maybe better than Mick Schumacher? But when the next Ferrari engine is also so weak than it's for all Ferrari driver very demotivating.

Ferrari already said they will have an huge improvment on next year engine. This year they couldn't touch it at all for the regulation it was born poorly after the nerf from the FIA and they couldn't do anything about it, what a stupid rule.

Ferrari already said they will have an huge improvment on next year engine. Whilst teams do have a bit of leeway for development next year, it's very limited. I wouldn't anticipate that Ferrari can be up there challenging for race wins in 2021. However... a bad performance this season will actually help Ferrari a little bit for 2021. The lower a team finishes this year, the more aerodynamic development they are permitted next year... which will of course aid their 2022 development - 2022 being the full reset with new rules and new cars for everyone. https://www.racefans.net/2020/10/06/f1s-new-aero-handicap-rules-mean-ferraris-dire-season-will-help-them-in-2022/

Leclerc is on another level, when he gets the proper car it will be interesting, from what I can see the car will be better next season 100%, I see increments of improvement already and that is the way to go.Plus, it's been a while since it was only half a second behind the Merc. I want to add Russell too, he is driving monster stuff lately, if he gets a chance in a good car, he will be blazing.

If I remember correctly the position of this year will determine the work you can do after 2 years so from 2022, not 2021 No, I don't think so. The position this year determines the work you can do next year. How will the scale work? It’ll be based on the championship position at the end of the previous season and then reset on June 30 each year to reflect the current state of play.
For 2021, if the pecking order remains the same, Mercedes will receive 90% of the testing allocation, which translates to 36 runs per week (just under half of what they had for this season). The allocation then increases as you go down the grid in championship order https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article.how-f1s-new-sliding-scale-aero-testing-rules-work-and-what-impact-they-will.pn0sG8N4A0cjbNRbdYx8a.htmlThe rules will be implemented in 2021, but are based on the previous season. The 2021 allocation is based on where teams finish this year. Of course there is the question of whether testing done in 2021 is for the improvement of the 2021 car - which will by that point already exist and be racing - or whether it's for the development of the 2022 car. But the work is definitely based on the previous season, not two seasons ago.

Don't look at Vettel times he is demotivated and maybe he also has not all the updates. Ferrari was so confident with Charles to do 2 time attempt on FP2 with hardes tires like Mercedes, astonishing IMHO.
