I accept the ION team cloned and spliced DASH and Blackcoin together.
I accept the ION team bought an engine off of Unity (17sec mark of trailer) which probably cost a whopping $100 or so.
I accept the Unity community is helpful about building games or the ION team would be properly fucked.

Exactly that. As a developer I'm using libraries, frameworks, plugins, modules, widgets, ui components etc. etc. on a daily base. I think that is positive for the end-product, because you can re-use tested and optimized solutions (in your specific project context) and spent time on things that the end-user actually does experience.

If you want to write it all from scratch (which they obviously did for at least a big part of Gravity) it's more of a business case than a technical case. If you have infinite funds, and so dev time, you could consider it - but imho it would just be a waste.

I'd like to see:
- Stability
- Great gameplay (good look and feel/unique/"addicting")
- Availability (web/android/ios)
- Profitable business concept ;-)

In most european countries it would probably be break of an law or even couple of them, especially because in EU laws connected to data storage are pretty strict. If users were not informed about it, then I agree, I assume it is not legal in EU. On other side I am not sure how it is if company rebrands themself which seems to have happened including new business modell oriented to gaming markets, thats at least what ION looks like to me. One point that tells me that it was not legal is, it is not the same company just rebranding, it is new/another one which is currently probably still not properly registered, but here I also do not have more background info about this process and why they did it this way. I do not know if it is the same case for US customers or in the state/country where company is/was registered.

I say you are not an experienced developer and you are not really an blockchain developer. You asked how to get genesis code which already tells me a lot about your dev experience regarding blockchain. I showed it, posted you links, you even could not say thanks.
