Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I have noticed that you tend to be a bit of a softy (in other words, one of your weaker spots) when it comes to protecting the fairer sex. Perpend a juxtaposition which modern simpletons will not understand: In essentially the same passage as in which Nietzsche praised the natural strength of womankind, and for example hailed Napoleon’s mother for having gained “power and ascendancy over men” through her “force of will”, he also urged European men to see Woman “as Orientals do”: As “a possession, as confinable property”. Thereupon, observe how the feminists with daddy issues want (or pretend to want) one part, and reactionary manosphere twits with feminist-mommy issues wish for the other part, and nobody integrates these concepts properly. I dislike feeling as if I were quoting chapter and verse (Beyond Good and Evil, #238–239); I have my own ideas, thank you very much. But then, perhaps I should leave some ambiguity about my personal opinions—let’s just say that from my high respect for women, I have learned a feminine coyness. Moreover, it is remarkable that in the 1880s, Nietzsche’s philosophy of a beneficial antagonism between the sexes anticipated current scientific theories of sexual selection and evolutionary psychology. He cared about heirs, you see—not so much personal heirs, but in the abstract, the evolutionary heirs of Man. Also, in the 1880s, he condemned “modern ideas” and “the sensitive and pampered taste of a democratic century”, i.e. the Nineteenth Century. Two different things wanteth the true man: danger and play. Therefore wanteth he woman, as the most dangerous plaything.

[...] Two different things wanteth the true man: danger and play. Therefore wanteth he woman, as the most dangerous plaything. I am surely NOT proclaiming such proclivities to be a bad thing (even if a potential weakness). #nohomoMy own pet theory is that if you (indefinite “you”—not you, Jay) are not strong enough to be the boss in a relationship with a cunning, manipulative, oftentimes quite predatory creature, then you should #gohomo. Consider that to be Nature’s way of preventing you from pissing in the gene pool with your whiny weakling heirs. You worthless wretch. ...consider the health benefits of homosexuality. A Real Man wants women. A Real Man does not want for his women to be such safe little sweeties as the incel crowd demands that women should become for them. Too sweet fruits—these the warrior liketh not. Therefore liketh he woman;—bitter is even the sweetest woman. I don’t put sugar in my coffee, I drink my liquor straight, and I don’t like “too sweet fruits” who present no challenge. What would be the fun of having a naturally aggressive, competitive, domineering personality, if women were perfectly passive damsels who would submit to just any idiot with a penis?

(...) Thanks man, I appreciate the comment, which applies to most of us here.
About exposure, yeah, this is the only thing I'll regret when we moon. The fiat I could've invested in BTC, but didn't... Well, it is what it is, now I'm in HoDL mode and will wait it out.
As LFC says, we may get there next year. I'm OK even if we get there in 2022-2023. Of course, "getting there" means different things to different people. For me, it means BTC = $100k. I do expect BTC to reach far higher values than this though, even reaching $1M and beyond.
We'll know soon enough.
Thanks, AlcoHoDL.
(...) thing is... it isn't. you could just buy more/re-allocate don't you feel short on btc?

I just got my Coinbase Visa card and I tested it with a small POS purchase. It is working This is a huge relief for me, since SEPA transfers from exchanges takes several days and some banks are declining them. My situation is such that I have to use 2 banks and thus I have to wait at least 2 days to receive the fiat. So I'm no longer afraid that there will be an unforeseen expense that I have to make within hours or days. Naturally, what I am going to do next is to buy bitcoins with all my saved salary after the taxes and fees. Then transfer almost all to my cold storage and keep some very small stash in my Coinbase account. From there, I can immediately transfer to the Visa card and make a purchase. This provokes some thoughts that I want to share with you. I know that I am at the very beginning of a long way that the hardened hodlers have taken. So some of the things will be very familiar to them, I guess. With each year of hodling, I feel more confident that the best way of living for me is to think about everything in terms of Bitcoin, not fiat. I mean, if I choose to sell a bigger part of my stash, it would be not for some impressive amount of fiat, but for something that will change my life. As the years pass by, I find that I have less interest in the current price and less heart jumps when it falls. I am thinking seriously about a new place to live, with good climate, healthcare, etc. Hopefully, where to find really good people and true friends. Unless I have a clear idea of what I want and how to achieve this, it is pointless to sell for some fiat shitcoin. Whether usd or euro, it will lose half of its value in terms of real estate in a few years. I need to travel more and visit some of these possible destinations. I have to study these places if I can settle there and have a better life. The only problem that I personally have is that unless Bitcoin catches up Gold in the next years, I won't be able to achieve this with my current modest stash. So the solution is only one - DCA. Slow and steady do the job. For the last 2 years I've increased my stash with 30% only relying on DCA. I think that another 50% increase in the following 15 years is possible, if the price is below Gold's of course. And if I keep my good although low paid job (internationally speaking). So I am thinking of waiting 15-ish years for an early retirement and to start spending what is needed for the new life. By then of course there will be no need for fiat mediator, a direct buy of real estates should be possible everywhere much sooner Having said that, it would be better hypothetically speaking, if I could predict a bigger bear period to increase my stash by just one sell and rebuy. It would be a serious temptation not to sell something, if for a few weeks we make 4-5-6x increase whithout a correction. But in all other scenarious of natural growth, I think I will have the strenght to remain calm and not to sell.

Orange man bad!!!! That's OK, we'll live... Congress just can't give money to the people who need it without giving 1,000,000x as much to the wealthiest 1%; its impossible for them... that's just the way that it is. Meanwhile the price of everything has jumped at least 10% this year. Another stimulus package would only drive up inflation all the more.

Don't do that! I know a lot of people that sold all their bitcoins at $100 and then at $1000 expecting a correction that never happened. Now they hate bitcoin.

Didn't post my usual morning greeting today because I'm preoccupied by Hurricane Delta.
It increased to category 4 and is headed straight toward our homes in Quintana Roo.
Talked to our custodians and hopefully trees are being cut that might fall on our houses, water tanks are being secured and windows are being boarded up.
We told one to abandon the property and go to a government shelter. We expect all our thatched roofs to be a write-off.
Luckily our main house and storage building have concrete roofs. We told our friends there that they can b&e the place if they need shelter.
Nothing like Daddy Nature to remind you about the real world. Hopefully no lives will be lost.

With any luck it will track northward a little sooner than predicted. Very nice of you to offer shelter to your friends - hopefully they wont need it. We're Qunitana Rooting for you Jimbo! Stay safe.

Thanks to all for the support. Dig in and stay safe buddy, if I prayed i'd drop one for you. We don't have to dig in. We're safe in Toronto. It's our friends in Mexico we're concerned about... and of course our properties. They do have some experience at this though. They say this reminds them of Wilma (2005).
