Geez, you guys act like you've never seen an 8 hour block before...

I was not commenting on the time - just wondering if the number of shares set a record!

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Yeah, I wasn't really talking about you.  You were actually the only one with a legit question.

I'm actually curious myself.  It could very well have been the block with the most shares since the pool hashrate has gone up so much in the last couple months...

Yes, I think this was an absolute record in round shares. Still not a record in shares/difficulty or even round duration Wink.

Yes... very bad day.

But at least we can make a game out of it!
Who here thinks this block will have more than 42944406 shares?
Who here thinks this block will go past 8:19:56?

EDIT ---------------
Oh so close!
35999641 shares over a time span of 7:27:42.
Until the next bad luck streak, I bid you good day.

Slush have you considered implementing LTC mining pool? There are lot's of graphic cards out there soon to be obsolete...

p.s. I understand this could be tabu and no search function did not yield any useful results

I considered that, but I'm not a fan of alternative currencies (except the namecoin, which is dead), so I have no plans for litecoin support.

When there'll be a currency which will bring some innovations comparing to bitcoin, I'll consider the support. I don't think litecoin fullfil this condition.

Hey Slush, is something wrong with the payout system today?
I'm only asking because a few people in the IRC chat, and myself haven't received our payouts even though we past our thresholds in confirms several hours to an hour or so ago.

On a side note I noticed that FAQbot in IRC says payout minimum is 0.01, and every 15 minutes. I know the 0.01 is no longer true, so is the 15 minute check still in play?

Thanks!

Hi, Slush!

Thanks for all the tweaks you made recently on web site, I really appreciate that.

I have one more small wish, it does not sound hard to implement, but it would be really nice to have a chart of daily profitability for last 30 days or so. Or limit the existing chart to ~2 month.

Thanks!

It'd be nice to make some color coding for the "Last share at" field, for instance 0 to 1 minutes make green, up to 10 minutes - orange and more than 10 - red.
Just to make quick table reading easier)

you can select the time span by clicking and dragging on the smallish chart just below the big one.

Charts are zoomable, please use mouse to zoom them to last two months. I'll think about additional charts.

Are you removing NMC?

Yes, Stratum backend (93% of hashrate and rising) isn't merged mining namecoins now.

Yes, Stratum backend (93% of hashrate and rising) isn't merged mining namecoins now.

Does this mean that only 7% of the pool hashrate is used for merged mining, but when that 7% manages to find a NMC block, it's reward is paid out for everyone? My NMC balance is still increasing, albeit very slowly.

I'm currently developing an experimental social AI platform
