But I have no idea how shares and rewards are calculated. It seems sometimes I have over 2000 shares and slightly over .001 rewards and sometimes I can have as little as 11 shares and have over .002 reward. And since I don't really know how the stuff works... I just sit back and watch it happen.

the noobs talk and asking questions here on the pools thread is why we need a slushs forum rather then trawl through 5000 pages on bitcoin talk.
then the chat could be subdivided out and handled in a general forum system while important things could be moved and modererated by a few chosen

I and a lot of others are making pitches about that for last 10 pages... But official position for now is no. Adding NMC, IXC and DVC would be 16% extra income... |

Thanks  But with a full time job, 2 small kids and a beautiful wife... I just ain't gonna take the time to read and then *hopefully* understand all that. LOL. SO, that's why I just sit and watch and don't complain. I know there is a method to the madness so I just ride the wave. Same reason there is no way any normal person can read through 380 some odd pages to find an answer. They may or may not search which will still be a lot to sort through, so they continually clutter up the thread. Heck, I wonder how much clutter there is on the subject of cluttering the thread?  |

To be honest, the reason slush hasn't been on the board, is because of the all the noob's posting 2 pages a day. Slush doesn't have time to sit here all day to keep up on the posts. And when he finally gets back to the board he has 8 pages to catch up on, which he just can't do.
If we could keep all the repeat, and useless posts off the thread it would work the way it was supposed to work. But for now, someone will likely have to pm him (already been done) to get his attention.

I honestly believe namecoin is an idea far ahead of its time and it will eventually take off... also namecoin is WAY more than just a way to do distributed DNS.. it is very unfortunate that pools this large are pulling their hash rates off of it because it is a "failed idea". i don't think that could be any farther from the truth.. and no, i don't care about pump and dumping it AT ALL. |

I think eleuthria has a good point. It has to start with the code, if the software is stale and not being maintained then I can see why people don't want to build systems that use it. ps. Something may have happened near the end of the block. I've got a few still doing proxy through ap2 so I may have got some shares in when others were having issues. Even 5 minutes down is enough to cause that issue.
