DNS problem here

C:\Users\Administrator>nslookup bitminter.com
Server:  BThomehub.home
Address:  192.168.1.254

*** BThomehub.home can't find bitminter.com: Server failed

Edit: Yes in UK

Sounds like a Cloudflare outage in the UK. I'll see if I can get a hold of them.

But this is also not good:

No worries Dr H. I can live without the website for a while.

The only alternative is port 80 getwork.

Port 80 getblocktemplate is also HTTP, should also play nice with your firewall, and won't run out of work.

Make sure you are allowed to run the device at your workplace.

Thanks Doc.  I will try to figure out how to get it running.

I came to this pool when the average was 26TH/s or below.  And I have to admit I did try other pools, but I always came back to Bitminer.
It's really good seeing this pool I really like and love growing the way it is.  An it's all down to the DrH and the miners who mine here!!

Lets get bigger and better!!! Grin

If you are struggling with getting your ASICMiner blade going, have a look at this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=27062.msg3046129#msg3046129

Specifically to the person having problems right now, don't forget the colon in the credentials. Just put a colon and an X as password. Even though we don't use passwords anymore, the server still expects name:password for basic authentication as per the HTTP standard. Unfortunately the blade interface makes you type in the colon yourself, as if it expects all miners to be programmers.

I have just started mining at bitminter and I'm coming from btcguild. I'm a little confused as to where I can find my miners income in btc per shift. I suppose I'm accustomed to how guild shows stats. I can see the summary but that is my reward upto now.

Help point me in the right direction?

I'm a little confused as to where I can find my miners income in btc per shift.

You can't currently see the pay per shift. You can see the amount of work per shift at https://bitminter.com/shifts and you can see your pay per block if you go to "my account" -> "transaction history" in the website menu.

I could probably add how much the user has been paid for each shift in the shifts page, though.

I see payment per block now, that's half way there Smiley reward per shift provides an immediate outlook at how my miners are doing throughout the day so please look into that.

Also, number of workers on workers page is 5 at a time with no way to change that. I'm pointing 16 workers to your pool and it's cumbersome at best to click on buttons just to glance at my workers. Look into giving an option to change number of workers per page.

There is a huge amount of detail on full live stats page I'm sure you can sneak in current shift earnings. Other than that I'm loving mining here so far.

Shift page as you mentioned probably works the best.

Maybe i doenst understand something, but was checking miners and notised strange thing:

Last block was generated @11:05
Pool time showing 11:20.
And time for current block is 4 minutes 52 seconds.
Where is 10 mins of hashing?

The pool time isn't actually shown anywhere. Where did you get the 11:20 timestamp? What time was your own clock at the time?

Seems like pool time for me:

Well my Jally finally showed up - without a mug  Angry

Seems to be fluctuating pretty wildly on speed between about 7.3 and as high as 8.8 Gh/s

I also should have had the replacement fan here before it arrived. I'd heard about the noise but I wasn't aware it was really this bad! Still small but its fun to add a bit to my hash rate. I just plugged it in, Windows 7 found some drivers, and Bitminter is rolling. Dr H you've made one incredibly user friendly program!

Every BFL preorder has a mug.  Grin Sorry I couldn't resist.

Yes the Bitminter client sure does make mining easier. All the time I wasted back in the day trying to get my GPU running with cgminer and then Bitminter worked 1st time.

If you have backup of your wallet.dat file it's OK. If not ... try HDD data recovery company and pray.

Thank you , If I understand correctly ,Basically if the physical hard drive /memory stick is broken all the coins are gone never to be seen ?

There is no way to recover them from the transaction history ?

Correct.
The wallet.dat file contains your private keys for your addresses. Without these you are unable to "reclaim" your coins.

While a HDD recovery company may be able to recover the wallet.dat file for you chances are that if there is physical damage to the disk it will cost a lot more than the  BTC .1 you've lost. If there are other important or non-replacable files on the drive it might be worth it but recovery services for physical damage run between several hundred dollars up to thousands depending on the type of drive and the amount of damage.
