This is getting ridicules. please watch out for your coins, because nobody else should.
And if you keep your coins at an exchange, especially with the upcoming shitstorm, make at least sure that you have the private keys. Smiley

What shitstorm do you mean? the forks?  also you cant have private keys if you keep coins at exchange right?
Especially the second one. And you have an understanding of how it works, in contrast to the shit i have to read here.

Ciao Pigi, of course you know Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash are two separate currencies, so if you send Bitcoin to your Bitcoin Cash address, or vice-versa, your wallet won't receive the transaction correctly. Grin
I think that Kraken staff will need to manually sweep the funds from the incorrect receiving wallet, into the correct wallet.
Here's how: since you sent BTC to a BCH wallet, Kraken staff will have to export the BCH private keys from "your Kraken BCH wallet", and import them into "your Kraken BTC wallet" (recovering those BTC into your Kraken BTC wallet). Wink

Even if the user has mistakenly sent the BTC to a BCH address, I'm interested on how the kraken support will act (no response, transfer funds by adding an increased fee, etc...)

The user in the italian board has published the transaction: https://blockchain.info/tx/434f06efd0de5fa85447e2c4946e806aa719747217539890833f5cc45c9b223e

The transaction has 2 outputs, the second is still unspent, so i think that the blocked funds are currently here:

https://blockchain.info/it/address/14fYNe2SBiXxtG3xCq4dP1Jfhv49gihnuv

Kraken currently holds the related private key; I assume, by taking an additional fee, that is entirely possible for the technical support to recover the BTC.

Is there any news/update about what Kraken will do in the upcoming fork(s)?
You (Kraken) will act like the 1st of August fork, open market and credit the new coins to your clients?

Kraken.

BTC went up today but I could not buy because your system don't take orders. You don't answer support tickets.
I'm done with your stupid system. I'm leaving for an other exchange.

Watch out, the exchange is incredibly broken right now, I think they might pull a coin heist soon.

Coin heist?! How you think something like that? Shocked
Kraken's platform is a "known" issue especialy when the price of BTC goes to the moon.
That doesn't mean or implies any heist... Undecided

WTF ?!? Kraken.com hacked ?? Doesn't look good!

HHmmm....
but this time it feels different. Too many red flags. Definitely does NOT look good.
Too many problems - Kraken.com seem to be getting buried by them
Too much workload to handle support requests
Too little time spent in past to fix/re-build a broken trading engine
Too much money being lost on a daily basis due to unresponsive site
Kraken Administration knowing about problems but do not put a big red warning on their site visible for everyone

and most importantly ...

Too many real people who are withdrawing their coins from Kraken.
first groups of investors/clients are forming to sue Kraken.

Thus ...
chances are they may close their site telling everyone they need time to fix it.
Or
they might pull a coin heist soon. (Always think the unthinkable)

It's an unregulated crypto world. When they see the ship is sinking - they may announce they 'got hacked;)' and that's it.

Once a happy Kraken client, I have withdrawn all my coins by now and keep them in cold storage for the time being.
I made this decision because I feel Kraken can not be trusted at this point of time.

Good luck to everyone.

We certainly understand the frustrations with our platform. We are always looking to make improvements to our service and a new trading engine should be coming soon.
Instead of fixing the problems and issues you are creating new ones. I will also withdraw all my coins and stop using Kraken. Im moving to a reliable site which works when you need it. You are not going to make me lose money with your broken system anymore.

Kraken is not useable for me. When I try to use Kraken I always get offline servers 502 Bad Gateway. When I want to place an order I get the random error message "Expired or invalid form" or "Your order may failed" and have to waste an hour to set up an order. In the end it sets up multiple orders which I clearly didn't want where I lose my money.

Kraken fix your broken system if you want our money!

Are you joking? How should we trade cryptocurrencies offline? Im using other sites where this doesn't happen. This is not a risk of trading electronically, it's a risk to use your site Kraken.com!

Kraken, your trading engine is next to useless.
I submit a market order.  Kraken says it "may have" failed.  The oders page shows no orders pending.
So I submit the order again, it "fails" again.  I submit a third time, and it executes.
But in the meantime, the first order, the one that supposedly failed, and which DID NOT SHOW UP ON THE ORDERS PAGE,
HAS NOW EXECUTED too!
If you're going to tell me that an order failed, or "may have" failed, and it does not show up on the pending orders page, then CANCEL THE
FUCKING order.

HA HA! Exactly. I got seriously pissed of when the support replied me this too: This is the risk of trading electronically, especially on an online platform.

What a bunch of joke! It's not a "risk", it's a SCAM.

I was trying to close a short position of $15K with some profit. First it was "order failed" message. Nothing in the pending orders. Second time I try to close it, 2 orders gets executed.
One - closes my short position .
Two - Opens a long position.

Price dramatically dropped from $5500 to $5150 in 2 hours and my margin level goes below 80.

I write to support. Now, imagine how I would have felt receiving this as response from them:

This is the risk of trading electronically, especially on an online platform.

It's a SCAM.
I've withdrawn all my money from kraken and switched to poloneix after that.

It could well be intentional. We never know. Kraken would like you to believe that it's a "bug". But I have reasons to believe it's not a bug but a well thought out trick to steal money from us and pretend it as a "bug."

It's a bit old-fashioned trick but it's working for them.

Remember Hanlon's razor:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanlon%27s_razor

Hanlon's razor is an aphorism expressed in various ways including "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity" or "Don't assume bad intentions over neglect and misunderstanding."

This is how I see Kraken.  Lousy trading engine explains the faulty trading excecution.

Well, I have a masters degree in market trading and have written a thesis on it, so knowledge on this subject or an online business for that matter is something I do not lack.

Considering the Kraken's current scenario, I would strongly recommend to do a bit of research on these subjects below.

Resources are available in some good libraries around the world as well

1) The negative marketing strategy and their benefits.
2) Smart marketer's techniques.
3) The Internet Bug.
4) How to make consumers feel better at first and what makes a good business villain later?

It's high time that we users have to think beyond an horizon and out of the box.
