It's not that easy for all physical sports to resume because the current set up of the NBA is very expensive, and if PBA would follow that, they can, because they are a big and profitable organization but for other league, there's no assurance.
Imagine how expensive to rent a venue where at the same time all the players will also live there just to ensure they will not have contact with outsiders even their families. That would cost millions of pesos and other sports are not that popular, so where would they get their revenue to match the expenses?
At first i thought that the PBA will follow the set-up of NBA in their games resumption but as i have read the article, it's not. It's just like an individual working in a company then go straight back home, for me it's still dangerous. I hope the "every 10 days" testing will help in the safety of all the individuals involved. I understand that they can't emulate the NBA bubble because it's so expensive but i hope they can isolate even the players only in a dormitory with their families for a certain period of time. They probably just give all the trust to the players, if they one player gets infected, for sure it could infect anyone, so the PBA will be halted again. I just wish they'll do their best to protect themselves and their interest as their job is at stake here, how can the PBA organization still play them if it won't resume successfully.

NBA wanted to make sure that after the resume nothing will stop them to play, the very reason why they've gathered to a single location and make sure that everyone will avoid being contained. Regarding to PBA, it's not easy to do the same, budget wise it will be a big issue as the league can't provide the same setup. It's not safe as it is, once a player or anyone who's part of the team get infected the chance to spread is really high.

PBA can for sure afford that as some of the team owners like the TNT and SMB belongs to the richest persons in the Philippines. So I don't think there's a problem if they will follow the format of the NBA, if they really love their job and they love to entertain the fans, they will find a way to make the resumption possible by getting an approval as soon as possible. I saw a video of coach tab in spin, and I was just impressed with his shooting, so I thought of sharing it and here you go. Tab Baldwin shooting 3'sI thought it was a new video but when I checked in youtube, it was already posted in year 2015, but then it's still nice to see him shooting very well at the 3 point line as I wasn't expecting it since I know very little about his history, I only see his coaching job which is excellent.

It's business and if they take a profit for their actions for sure they will make it happen, they should follow the nba format if they want to make things happen in the league. I also follow junemar on his channel and he's quite entertaining, it's good for him to have a quality time while he is on recovery phase. Hope to see him back in action.

But the pandemic just keep showing worst records on cases to which I think the PBA organizers will going to be aware of and should be cautious because all the blame will be on them. And If I were the deciding individual of that organizer then I would not risk the players health, the people around and the of course the efforts of the frontliners in the battle of this pandemic.

The PBA organizers didn't give up, they want to resume even with the pandemic. In fact, they were already given a go signal to resume their practice but it's a non scrimmage practice. here's the link . https://psc.gov.ph/en/psc-news-related-article/pba,-pff-plan-next-steps-after-iatf-gives-go-signal-to-restart.htmlThe PBA is already planning its next steps after gaining approval from Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to resume practices and conditioning sessions.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque made the announcement in a briefing Friday and said the IATF, in Resolution No. 51, has approved the appeals of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) to hold workouts amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

It's relief after hearing the IATF granted the PBA request to let the players practice. I commend PBA for still trying to resume what they've had started of the 2020 Season. No matter what would be the odds, they're still focused on getting the PBA back in action. Kudos.

They have no choice, the whole organization are relying on them, if there's no PBA, those millions of money are due to their employees and players will not be paid since they don't have the revenue, we don't know yet if they can successfully get a permit to resume, but just like you, I am just optimistic their effort will finally paid off with good result, which is their ultimate goal.

Yeah... I hope the government would not let us wait for nothing and the PBA efforts go to waste.Tommorow, there would be again an announcement for the covid-19 situation and " changes" at the status for some cities. - Surely, PBA players is living in their luxury life.

- Surely, PBA players is living in their luxury life. That's the kind of job security we all like, PBA players deserved that and thanks for bringing that information as I am not aware of it. Just like a regular employee, when the company is temporarily close for due calamities, they are still entitled to get paid, this is just like a holiday for the PBA players with pay, or like the public teachers who are still paid even at vacation or after the school year. Hopefully all this problem that we are facing now will end soon, though they are paid until December but after that, they might not get a new contract when PBA by that time still cannot resume.

With regards to the bolded statement above, i'm sure that it's not all the case is like that. That might be true with government employees that even though their government agency is close, they are still being paid. For private firms, it's the discretion of the company whether to pay or not. With regards to PBA player's contract extension, well they can afford as that is already budgeted i think.

It requires a technical discussion but one with experience or a government employee can confirm here. me, I can't give my opinion as I never experience this before or we, and I am jobless now, lol. With regards to PBA player's contract extension, well they can afford as that is already budgeted i think. It is already budgeted, but they also consider the revenue for that, it's just like matching revenue and expenses where at the moment, no revenue can be match with the expenses.

Many hopes that all of this problem will end up soon since I'm sure all of us tired to see the numbers of infected is rising together with the threat of unemployment and continues lock down still there.

Imagine how big the salary that they needed to cope up and if they don't roll the games for sure the management will lose so I thing if thee season fail for sure they will cut the payment of their players. Many hopes that all of this problem will end up soon since I'm sure all of us tired to see the numbers of infected is rising together with the threat of unemployment and continues lock down still there. That's probably what will happen, players would just accept it for the PBA to survive, they might have a budget until the end of the year but I'm pretty sure next year they will struggle if this pandemic will continue, so the resumption of the PBA is really a big help for them to at least earn some revenue and they can pay their expenses, including the salaries of the players which is the biggest part. The presence of live audience is somewhat big revenue unto them so for having no audiences as this is the new normal set up for sure the players salary will at risk to get a cut, let see if there's no problem will occur for the resumption since if they will successfully return back the live actions for sure the revenue from the ads will follow to came again. That could be one of the factor, but when they return and no audience is allowed on a set up, they can still make money from the advertisers, and since that the giant network was already closed, they will have more opportunity to get more advertisements so that would also help them to still have a good revenue. But let's just wait and see, I'm sure they would not push through the season if they are operating at a loss, that would be so stupid of them.

The teams have allocated budget to do that, though it's not an obligation but we can say that it's a compassionate consideration since there's still pandemic virus that continue to keep spreading. The luxuries of receiving payments for players who already expiring their contracts, benefits them from this particular adjustments.

..I'm sure they would not push through the season if they are operating at a loss, that would be so stupid of them.
PBA losing P30M per month since stoppage of actionIt's harsh mate lol. You have a point though. They want to push the season to come back again on track. Same with other businesses, they are operating with loss and the reason for resuming is to somehow cope up with it. They have "savings" and that might be used to cover all spendings regarding the resume. PBA is also backed by 12-teams and sure they will help the league. We can say that they can still handle the loss. As per the article, after not generating income since the league was halted, the PBA office remains in operation and continues to pay the salaries of its employees. And good thing "“At ‘yung teams, team owners and governors parang ‘yung equity nila na dahan-dahan munang (pinapagamit) sa PBA para gamitin sa pangsweldo.”

Is there any other channel network that operate a sports channel?(not familiarize to all tv channels as I'm not often using it). Most probably, we would get to watch the live game more on to social media that supports livestream?
