The issue is not getting in shape as they previously stated they will come back in 21 IIRC, but later announce that the return is delayed but there's no specific date yet. There must be a little problem in protocol or restrictions but I'm confident they'll be able to sort it out soon.

If the league will return on 29th, what's the sense of transferring the venue right with the extra hassle? Metro Manila ECQ might extend but for a possible date, maybe until the end of the month. And besides, they are already doing a semi-bubble here in the Metro Manila venue. Well, that was their decision.
Complying with provinces protocol really takes time so maybe that's the reason for the change of date. Another reason maybe is, lack of hotel options in Pampanga as maybe some are used as rehabilitation centers for quarantine or temporarily halt their operation.

yeah right, there's no problem with the shape my bad by interpreting that players and teams need some time to practice, but thanks for noticing that, hopefully we would see them in action again. This ECQ might extend or needs to extend as the numbers of new cases is really booming, no way that they can go back much earlier inside metro. Whatever concern that they still handling right now, this is the only option to continue and finished this season.

New update regarding the return of the PBA. PBA teams finalize hotel bookings, await go-signal from Pampanga govTHE PBA is waiting for teams to finalize accommodation arrangements before resuming the 2021 Philippine Cup, most likely in Pampanga.
PBA deputy commissioner Eric Castro said they will coordinate with Pampanga governor Dennis Pineda the planned semi-bubble tournament once the accommodations of the 12 teams have been finalized.
“As of now, we are waiting for teams to complete their certificates of acceptance from hotels/accommodations where they will stay. Then, will submit [these] to the office of Gov. Pineda,” said Castro. Good update, this only means that we will soon see our beloved league in the Philippines, and they might make their time frame of return this month.

The reports say that teams will cover their expenses in hotels and daily spendings of their players and staffs. They are all agreed with it.
It means PBA's budget is really alarming that they ask teams to do it. I agree that they can wait for ECQ to be lifted instead but they choose to spend more outside.

With Governor Pineda as an avid fan of basketball, i'm sure that he is also excited that the PBA will be held in his province and will give the nod to PBA to start, adhering to IAFT protocol of course. The news that the teams will shoulder their own expenses shock me a bit because i never thought that the PBA will be out of budget since majority of the teams in the league are rich . I'm just hoping that covid cases in Pampanga won't rise and the province reverted to ECQ status just like in the NCR because in our place the covid cases is rising even though we are in MECQ.

Pineda allows this sport to facilitate even it's in a semi bubble set up, better than nothing I guess. Lets hope that covid cases will not increase to this province to make sure that the season will be finished without any interruption anymore.

No matter how rich the teams' owners are, they still need to follow the budget at that is business and they can't operate the business in a losing manner. The fact that they still resume the PBA, that means their income is still bigger than the expenses, and that means they are surviving as a business.

We should thank them for that as they are just thinking of bringing the entertainment to the fans. I'm sure team owners have enough money to cover the expenses and everyone will participate, if they can't, there's always the SMB teams and TNT who can help the other teams that are struggling financially. Everything is arranged per report, we just have to wait for the announcement of the final date of return.

As per report, the game is nearing and we will see our favorite team and players to compete and bring the entertainment that we are aiming to witness, for sure many of us are really waiting for the odd to open back so we can start betting with our favorites. Almost, and we will start picking our bets, so start budgeting now for our capital..Good Luck!

As per recent reports, teams are just waiting for the finalization of their hotel accommodation. That shouldn't be supposed to approved for long. Aside from waiting for the final date of PBA comeback, let's also hope that the numbers of additional cases in Pampanga is just light so that it will not end up as a reason for another delays. Time flies so fast. It's been 18 days since the last PBA games. It's like it just happened last week.

This break also give us some time to relax, but of course will miss the PBA if they will not start soon, so they also know their obligation to the fans.

This break also give us some time to relax,
But before the league was temporarily suspended on August 10 or 11(?), we just came back from a long wait so it's not a valid point hehe. Kidding aside, yes I agree with you that the league should resume this month. No reason to think of another delay because the plan is now actually in progress and we are just waiting for the finalization of it. The only reason for another delay, which I hope would not happen, is the possible increase of surge of Covid-19 cases in Pampanga LGU which I doubt will happen but not setting it aside. It’s a go in Pampanga as PBA sets Sept. 1 reboot; Marcial thankful for players’ helpAppreciate that it's not only PBA that is doing the actions. Players are also helping. They are the ones negotiating with the hotels which are supposed to be the role of PBA. They are helping each other and like seeing that way. A simple watching their boring games as considered by others is already a big help to them so we should support the local league.

Good suggestion, lets place our bets now for Manny and enjoy his fight while waiting for PBA, as another more than a week of wait and the game will resume back. Just enough time for players and coaches to take their practices and start warming those created plays for the remaining games. Thanks for the effort of everyone as they make this thing to happen letting us fans to enjoy the games again.

Not only us will enjoy the fight, though their training will resume soon, I'm sure they will also find a way to watch the fight this Sunday. Everytime Manny had a fight, everyone watches it as every fight of Manny is historic since he is the only 8th division champion, and who knows, he could be the GOAT in boxing someday, so missing it is something we will regret. Thanks for the effort of everyone as they make this thing to happen letting us fans to enjoy the games again. Good news came earlier than we expected, so let's hope they'll be able to realized the plan.

I've read the news about Marcial saying this, every player said that they're willing to help just to keep the league. I wasn't been on track with this news but I guess that it is because of the past quarantine protocol of ECQ and even we're now shifted to MECQ, there's still a difficulty and the losses that the league has made through the entire weeks of being in that quarantine made the players said that. But good thing that there's now a scheduled and given date when the reboot will happen, it's hard to adjust on their end and it's losing them a lot of money just like last year.

Yes, and it will have a bad effect on the league in the long run if delays will continue because of the pandemic. Take note that even before the pandemic, the league's revenue isn't that much (although in 2019 iirc, the league noticed an increase) and the number of audience on the venue just increasing in numbers if Brgy. Ginebra or any other SMC teams will reach the Semis to Finals. They can only achieve at least 17,000 audiences during only in Finals that's why there's always a rumor of "bigayan" to extend games to the maximum for more revenue. I hope PBA can still manage the cost by 5 seasons or more, or maybe much better, I hope the pandemic will now end.

Ginebra, the fans were always there and the coliseum is always full and tickets were sold out. But right now, I think they have another scheme or plan to prolong some games so that ad revenue will still be there and it is needed because they've been losing instead and they have to do everything so that they'll recover as well. They've got a lot of players and venue is another thing for the sustain and expense that they have to add for their budgeting and adjustment. I just hope that everything goes well.

We don't need to wait for a long period of time before we can see the game in the arena, eventually, the crowd will be allowed in the game just like the NBA. What the Philippine government has to do now is to fast track the vaccination so we can proceed forward, if other countries can bring back the old normal in sports, why can't we?
