I am impressed by the buyer(s)... If there will be no further dump, I think we should be going back up. We will see.  Roll Eyes

I am impressive.

Hahaha!  Grin

Dustoff was remembering last spring in the trollbox.
He told we were seeing the same thing last spring when XMR approached 0.003 and then fell to low 0.002's, and from there almost directly to 0.0043.
Let's see if this plays in the same way also this time. Interesting to follow the game and a little play along also (not touching the core position though which I also recommend for all the other traders: keep your core position aside of the playful games).  Cheesy

If you can relate, please retweet:

Sometimes my friends are annoyed that I talk about #xmr so much. Those same friends are annoyed that they were not introduced to #btc sooner

Don't buy Monero: https://twitter.com/MoneroPromotion/status/746006420508729344

Now we have some weak signals of an uptrend.
There are practically nobody selling coins anymore so any bigger market purchase takes us at least high 0.002's if not to low 0.003's.

On the other hand, the bids are still relatively low so now anything is possible.
I have bought some nice chunks of BitMoneros during the past 24 hours and continue doing so if we stay that close to the lower bound of the trend channel.

Exactly.

BTW, someone set a fear wall of almost 14 k XMR.
Should it be tested if it is for real?  Wink

EDIT: While writing, it was removed.

Some buy orders are good for moments like these (transfered some btc to Polo).

You are right on that one.

I can't believe those impatient dumps. Do these people even look at the orderbook before doing stuff like this? How nicely the bidside refilled, how steady the rise was? Good luck on getting those 14k monero back! If you're a miner, thanks for distributing coins! Oh, and thanks for bringing the 24h volume back to over 300 BTC.

From poloniex, thought it would interest some of you here:

Ethereum ETH is now available for margin trading. http://ow.ly/QJOHG

Regarding speculation: I am wondering if the dump guy is done now (could be several guys, but his blatant market dumping makes him unique I think). I still have a hard time comprehending why one would dump with +5% slippage, whereas he could've set up some asks and patiently wait until they got bought.

Privacy matters, use Monero - A true untraceable cryptocurrency

I agree with you. No point in dumping like that. Dumping is more understandable if there is space to go down and buy lower.
However, the lower it goes the more there is competition for these scarce treasures.

At some point a dumper end up having tons of bitcoins and a shortage of Moneros which is not that good situation to be in.

This is what a rational actor would do. I think miners with that kind of hashpower should know better, because a large factor of their mining operation is maximizing profits. I'm more and more convinced the Ether fomo messes with peoples brains and led to dumps like this.

If that is the case:
While we are seeing this behavior in only one direction right now XMR -> Eth, I am curious to see what happens if those people try to rebuy their position.Wether it is desirable to have those shaky hands in monero, is a question of how much they learned from this experience.

True. 80% of monero mining power comes from botnets. These people (mostly chinese) don't care about 5% - 15% price difference. I dont think this will change anytime soon Sad

It would be helpful if you could provide conclusive proof of this number, or even any proof at all.

As far as these theorized botnet miners dumping at any price, I completely fail to see how that's a bad thing at all. Their dumping at any price means the people who actually want to own them pay *less*.
