Another thing that could be different this time around is that there is leveraged trading.

I currently lend a significant sum of btc on bitfinex but am definately considering moving some to Polo, especially if it will add fuel to this rally.

Yes, I learned my lesson with leverage a little while back and it cost me a couple thousand Monero.  That was enough for me to learn to stay away from leveraged trading.

Nevertheless, others have not learned that lesson and we will eventually see a Monero margin bubble.  People will see the Monero price going up, and they will leverage to buy more and more...  And eventually (just like the current stock market) we will be leveraged to the hilt and once a few people sell and take profit it will cause a cataclysmic crash as n00b after n00b watches themselves get margin called and their entire warchest vanish in an instant.

Humans are dumb, so this is inevitable.  I just urge you, dear reader, not to get caught up in it.

Buy Monero as we go up, and load up on pull backs, but stay. Away. From. Margin.

If you're thinking, "Fuck that guy, I know what I'm doing," then you're probably the person who needs to listen to my advice.  If you're thinking, "dam margin u scary" then I'm probably preaching to the choir.

Account is back under control of the real AmericanPegasus.

"BE LONG, STAY LONG"

Hello all!  Thought this would be an appropriate time to share:

On 7/10/2015 we (BullBear Analytics) issued a trade idea - **Monero ProTrade [Issued on 7/10/2015]**: Get long at current levels, ~0.0018, with a stoploss at 0.00165 and an initial target of 0.0026. The next level of resistance would come in around 0.0035 if a breakout occurs.

Then on Tuesday, we issued the following report:

https://i.imgur.com/tkVytsK.png

These reports are for Premium subscribers only, but I wanted to share with the community this time around  Grin  We are not there yet, but things are looking very good technically.

Reply if you have any questions or comments!  Cheers!

S3052 has very properly identified the "behind the scenes" development in Monero as something traders need to keep into account. As for the current market action I am not surprised, furthermore I still believe the market has not yet priced in the discrepancy between the 8 month old "official" binaries and the current code..

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

Yeah, some choppiness after this spike then on to .003 and beyond. These threads will be fun to read in a few years time when XMR is trading at over .01

Yeah, I first ran bitmonerod over a year ago, and it was unreasonable to run it while expecting to do anything else with the machine. By contrast, I recently compiled the current code and have no trouble leaving the process running.

That said, I don't think there'll be any effect on price until there's a GUI. People are dumb.

I remember a few moments over a year ago when XMR (or was it MRO then?) was trading over 0.01... Wink

The high was also reached on Bittrex as well. It is true that it didnt stay there for long the market only hovered within range of that for a few hours. Funny, I remember exactly what I was doing that day.

... harassed ...

Sadly the hard drive with my keys was lost in a boating accident. All I have left to show is a couple of hundred on my (fully validated) poloniex account.  So naturally I will be a dip buyer again.

You're telling us you didn't make any backups?

Can't tell if serious...

This is the best one I know of. There used to be a site called Monerochain that I thought was better for charts but it died quite awhile ago.

aminorex was pretty clearly trolling, I wasn't sure if dEBRUYNE was playing along or didn't get the meme.

I saw what you did there...

See, this is what we need to be working on increasing, not the price specifically.

I know they are tied together: the more profitable, the more hash power assigned to the network.

Perhaps I'll take some extra money and rent out some cloud power for mining.  I'm not happy that the hash-rate of the network hasn't increased in a year, but the price has fluctuated in the same order of magnitude so it makes sense.

Price stable, emission decreasing = not a good time for miners.

With sustained price increases, miners will follow.

I agree margin trading can make XMR much more interesting.
It basically enables people borrowing bitcoins endlessly as long as the price moves to their favor.
When the price goes up, the existing position + initial investment frees you more collateral for new loans and thus you are able to pile up a chunk of loans and that excessive borrowing can potentially drive XMR to some pretty extreme highs.

I think the current volume and uptrend is also something the Chinese people love. Definetely good timing to start a bull trend and bring some volume so that we are able to get the coin listed to Chinese exchange(s).

Well that was an exciting day, anyone up to do it again tomorrow? I mean we don't all have to buy more XMR at the same time...

I think ArticMine is spot on like usual, smooth speaks the truth about mining and hashrate growth, while TC is brewing over profit of his future dump. However price is a sporadic bitch within chaotic confines. Let's call it a day and be happy with the green.

Hopefully the Monero community continues to grow in order to match all the progress and forward thinking being established in the present.

P.S. I've only seen this ~5 times on reddit, but with DASH/X/DARK/PEDO being booted from finex who thinks there is a proper chance in having Monero listed on their exchange? Anyone (or dev) have any recent communication in regards to technical assistance or true intentions of investigating a possible market? I will consider it all a pipedream within the forseeable future otherwise. But that's just me being slightly narcissistic honest.

Either you own the bitcoins(private keys) or you don't. However with moneroj, nobody knows what you own.

I messaged Erik yesterday and gave him my best pitch for Monero.

I wonder if a lot of that noise today was him trying to establish a position?

If that is you, go easy brother; we're not on a moon-rocket just yet.  You have time to acquire a stake over the coming months.
