we're just a a hair's breadth away from that... all monero needs right now is a good and valid piece of news in regards to development... There seems to be some resistance from BTC rising today...
I suspect once these hedgers/sellers are exhausted, XMR could explode to the upside (especially if Bitcoin is in obvious uptrend)

So in the next 3-6 months where do the majority of you see the price of Monero heading? Additionally, what do you think the volume will be looking like?

probably more of the same for 6 months, then both going UP. just takes someone like Roger Ver to focus for 5 minutes on XMR

IIRC, he is in jail now for selling BTC to a dark market guy, so plenty of time for him to read (this is a serious idea)

I often wonder why more of the early bitcoin pioneers aren't here, I guess they're either too busy to follow alt coins now and/or they're in too deep with bitcoin, and they are reading up on all the alts, and they realise the threat. still, throwing $20K USD at monero for some of these guys isn't that much money. Does anyone know what Erik Voorhees and Roger Ver think of alts in general?

Erik Voorhees is the owner of shapeshift.io, so he is positive towards alts I guess Don't know about Shrem, but because he is in prison, his exposure to information will be lower, so it's more easy to reach out to him if we do the efford of sending actual mail to him. He also has access to email I think, but don't know if it's possibel for him to print attachments, so those need to be send by physical mail I guess. edit: so what to include? *cryptonote whitepaper? *monero research lab papers? *some of the monero missives (written transcripts and the 2014 editions) *some tweets by peter todd ( ), posts by gmaxwell, etc *maybe some posts by david, fluffy, smooth, etc ? let's organize this on forum.getmonero.org

good? but if ema 12h will croos and channel will be broken, its not looking good. 1h looks like falling wedge and possibility of inv HS now (head is forming) but looking at orders, there's strong resistance to 220..250.. and not good support. that's why sell time was at 205-215 and rebuy is below 190, maybe even 180
when i saw rpietila posts it was like big pump is coming very soon and support by whales bids and buys but nothing serious happened yet.

the question for me is, are we starting a new (exponential?) uptrend or not. Short term: will the uptrend hold or do we go back to the long term wedge? Long term: if the uptrend holds, we can expect > 0.005 BTC/XMR this year, if not, it will be > 0.002

I don't think shrem is a tech guy, so a higher level overview would probably work best

I don't think shrem is a tech guy, so a higher level overview would probably work best IIRC, he only has access to "prison mail" which is a kind of censored e-mail system. ALso, I think his time on PC is limited, so atachments should be avoided and send by physical mail. Maybe we make contact first, through email and later on send him more papers, printed discussions, etc

It's really hard to tell, because this breakout was very weak. Maybe it was a false move or we are going to see a few weeks of low volatility before exponential uptrend. But based on reddit new users are coming at a little faster rate than in the past months.

That's way too much TA for XMR. If TA is workable at all then we're talking the very basics: Uptrends, downtrends, channeling etc. You can't be throwing the fancy shit around just yet.

Of course talking about it open channels probably isn't as smart as just doing it.* *Drugs are bad and shouldn't be endorsed by anyone other than the FDA.

Daily candle is shaping nicely into a bullish engulfing hammer and finally some real buy support (12.4k) near the price.
Excited for this week!
Edit: seems like the wall guy got impatient

While I might be new to the forum, I have been following monero quite extensively for the past 9-10 months and have been accumulating as much as I can in that time. I hear many people in the community state that what is good for Bitcoin to be good for Monero (I.E. when bitcoin shoots up in price people will jump to other alt currencies). However, Monero, as I'm sure you're aware, isn't just a replica of Bitcoin like so many of the other alt currencies out there. Monero, for all intents and purposes, is the superior coin and I'm sure many of us would like to see it surpass Bitcoin in the distant future. Which is why I wouldn't be surprised to see an inverse relationship between the price of Monero and Bitcoin after Monero surges in price some.

You make good points but disagree with "superior" comment Monero is better for privacy, bitcoin has huge first mover advantage and mainstreet visability. Different advantages, none superior to the other
