Sounds reasonable.

dude, its going to da moon!

but i wonder how long the 50 cent range will hold before it creeps up. But I guess that depends on bitcoin's price.

Wow. That's a lot of Monero you got there. Shocked I have the feeling you might become rich when Monero's price goes up. As for me, I'm growing my stack of Monero and as of now I own 25 XMR.  Roll Eyes

I agree. If you keep buying all the time (like on daily basis some coins), you will have plenty of coins when/if Monero goes viral.
With smaller amounts, the importance is consistency. Keep buying and mining which you hold outside of the exchange so that you will not feel tempted to sell too early.

So what are people's thoughts on that 50k wall at .0026?

Either you own the bitcoins(private keys) or you don't. However with moneroj, nobody knows what you own.

So what are people's thoughts on that 50k wall at .0026?

Think it will be removed once we get close, might be a scare wall to push people in his bids.

Potential cup and handle forming, this might get very interesting: c&h on BTC and XMR

You're assuming the Monero-overtakes-Bitcoin scenario, which we've been over and I still think would be very damaging to the crypto-economy as a whole, thus lowering the fiat purchasing power of the sum of all coins. Yes, if Monero went 1000x and the cryptoeconomy as a whole went 0.1x, you'd still be up a lot with more than 1% in XMR, but the whole experiment would be vastly less interesting and useful.

I've said for a while that Monero could become the #2 coin, which is a lot more reasonable, and would actually, in my opinion, significantly strengthen the crypto-economy since the #2 coin would be both fully decentralized (ie, it's not Ripple), and offer something valuable and different vs Bitcoin (ie, it's not Litecoin). I think that's a more likely (and better!) outcome for a number of reasons.

That's still a 20-50x (in BTC terms) potential rise in the cards. Not satisfied with that? Wink

Bitcoin is the first monetary system to credibly offer perfect information to all economic participants.

Not really. 25 BTC might be worth even more.

As you know I'm less convinced of that.

As a special case of how that might not happen, I don't rule out the possibility of two winners in crypto, one being the (more) transparent coin (assume hypothetically this is Bitcoin) and one being the (more) private coin (less clear at this point what that might be but Monero is certainly a plausible candidate). It isn't clear to me that the transparent coin would necessarily be bigger, and it also isn't clear that the private coin turning out to be bigger would have the same effect as some other coin that did the same thing as Bitcoin overtaking Bitcoin.
