One of my four S4's LCD screen is blank.  It will not boot up.  The LCD lights up but just stays blank.  Can someone help?
Yes I can tell you exactly what the problem is. If you have rebooted a couple times and the screen is blank that means the SD card has moved a little inside the S4 and the firmware is not being read and booting up the machine.. You need to remove the 6 screws on top of the case, pull off the cover straight up, look inside and find the SD card, push it in and it will then pop out, then reinsert. The S4 will work then. I had to do this on 2 out of 4 today.

Okay!!!

Thank you very much for the quick response!

I'll give it a try.

I've shut it off and back on several times to no avail.  So, let me give what you said a whirl...

 Grin
If that doesn't work, power down one of the other ones and create an SD card image (win32diskimager works well), then flash it to the SD card on the bad unit.

I got it to work Mr. Teal.

Thanks again for the S3 coupon!

Holy CRAP you have a lot of miners there. Your electric bill must be $2000 a month... How much do you pay per KWH?

I'm building a larger closet in my recreation room to house up to 96 S4's.  I will delete this picture in a few hours.

Nice!!! Looks like you have everything planned out and you're on your way to your very own mini data center Smiley

LOL

Thanks, buddy!!!

It's time consuming but I'm hanging in there to get it done.

I took a break from working on it today (Wednesday).  However, I plan on putting some hours into it tomorrow.

The rigs are hanging in there [temperature wise] in that small closet they are presently in.  The temperatures range from 45 C to 53C.

I think the temps will do a lot better in the other I'm building.  Especially, when I get that larger 6970 CFM fan around May or June.

That did the trick, Sir...

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Added two new S3's and four new S4's to my little farm.  Went up from 9.2 TH/s to 18 TH/s.  So, I've almost doubled.

I will delete the pic in a few hours.  Please don't mind the mess with the wiring.  They are about to be moved to a new closet I'm building.

looks fantastic! How is the noise of the S4 compared to the S3? I know its obviously louder, but is it just more fans = more noise, or do the fans spin faster = higher pitch?

I can stack shelves of S3 units without any concern over noise, but a single loud unit like the SP10 (WHIIIIIIINE) or any rockminer gear (VVVVVVRRRRRRRRRRR) sticks out like a sore thumb. S2 was totally reasonable

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

I think the S4 must have bigger/faster/louder fans.  An S4 is much louder than four S3's, and heats up a room much hotter and faster.  I used to run S3's in my office, but with an S4 in the room I couldn't talk on the phone!

So I've looked through many, many pages and haven't found it here.  Is there a list showing frequency, voltage, watts & ghash anywhere for both under & over clocking?

According to the website, you meant to say 6.8 cents and 7.87 cents.  Or use the dollar sign and it's $0.068 and $0.0787.  Mine is similar in Missouri, for the winter months.  But my summer is much higher, which jumps to 11.36 cents.  So I will need to sell all my equipment in May.

Yes, that's what I intended to convey!

I think you know what I meant but thank you for the grammar lesson.

I'll need to get ahead of you then and sell all my S3's in April before they get too low in price on eBay like the S1.

Has anyone else bought an S3 lately and noticed you can change the frequency AND THE VOLTAGE like you can on the S4?

I'm wondering if I can do a firmware upgrade of my other S3's so they can do the same?

Nope. But you probably can. Check the site to see if there's new firmware for the S3. Was thinking about it but I'm too lazy to go get a psu so I got another S4 instead. LOL. Besides, the S4 is a beast. It actually works better when overclocking, at least for one of my rigs. 2D 05H 30M, avg hashrate 2.3th, hw error 44.

Edit: the other 2 didn't do as good but still 2.3th avg only thing is hw errors 800+ for 11h 11m about 0.0035% so still within specs.
