1061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: August 22, 2023, 08:15:48 AM
All right, so here is the reason why Devin and his dad wanted to move the fight date earlier. For me, it makes sense to move the date otherwise they will go head-to-head against Tyson Fury's fight against Francis Ngannou. I mean this fight is the better match-up but most likely only for the boxing hard cores. But it is still a bitch move not consulting Regis Prograis especially since he is the defending champion. They can move the fight to a later date like a week or 2 after the Fury-Ngannou and not before that.

The Tyson Fury fight is in the early afternoon so there really shouldn't be a scheduling conflict. We often see that when there is a big fight in Europe or the Middle East, promoters will still schedule events for later in the day in the United States. It would only be an issue if they also want to make Haney vs. Prograis a pay-per-view fight because people wouldn't want to spend on two different fights in the same day. Neither of these guys is popular enough for this fight to be worthy of being pay-per-view. Haney is just being a diva for whatever reason.

I actually understand why they wanted to move the date. But I think that is not actually necessary to be honest. I believe the Haney fight is going to be a good one anyway. And there is no reason for him to make such a fuss about changing the date.

Obviously, people are going to want to see the other fight. Tyson Fury versus Francis, those two are definitely much more popular. And also will be able to bring in a huge amount of money. Because we got the interest of two worlds, two sets of fans, in this fight.

I assume this fight is on pay-per-view as well. Devin Haney is paid millions of dollars per fight since his fight over Kambosos so I guess a million or two is not enough for him anymore. I remember when Eddie Hearn upon knowing Haney's promotional contract with Top Rank expired mentioned that he is becoming an expensive fighter and that he might not afford his services anymore. So it simply means that his fights are going to be on PPV.

Devin Haney is popular only to hardcore fans and while Prograis is a KO artist, he doesn't have a huge fanbase as well. Fury-Ngannou is a mismatch and is nowhere near the quality of Prograis-Haney but Fury has a huge fanbase and Ngannou might have the backing of the huge MMA community.
1062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 22, 2023, 06:11:42 AM

Rolly cannot hold his belt for long because he is the easiest of all the champions. Maybe what PBC wants here is to let another PBC fighter take the belt rather than lost it to rival networks and promotions. Ohara is now with GBP and DAZN so Al Hymen is trying to manipulate the system once again.

For sure Rolando Romero doesn't know what he is talking about, that he can attain a level like Manny Pacquiao he looks like he has Autism sorry about people that has Autism I surely never view this kind of thing negatively but Rolando Romero is like an Autistic dude that still remained in his childish ways, for sure if he fought Ryan Garcia this will surely end his reign for sure,

Rolando Romero is just a talkative person. And talkative people at times just talk and talk without even thinking. Maybe Romero has ADHD, who knows? But his confidence is at the other level. He is a very funny guy and probably thought he is handsome. He said Pacquiao has the ugliest style in boxing and that Tank Davis looks like a koala. He also said he felt bad that Devin Haney was born with poor genetics like having a big nose and being very ugly. Yet there was a time when he called Devin his son and that he is the biological dad. After his knockout lost to Tank at 135, he said that he is big in the division so he wants to move up 2 divisions at 147 and fight Errol Spence. He said 140 is a no-name division yet he is now campaigning at 140 with a belt gifted to him by the WBA and PBC.

He doesn't deserve a belt, PBC and corrupt WBA worked their magic to give him the title. He was knocked out at 135 by Tank and then he moves up to 140 for a vacant WBAbelt against an old man who gave him life and death but only for the referee to stop the fight favoring him. As Crawford said, boxing is one of the most corrupt sports if not the most corrupt.

Meanwhile, Sugar Sean O'Malley made a huge upset last weekend and became champion in the UFC. So it seems like the guy wants to cash out big time while he is still a champion by challenging Tank Davis in a boxing match. And then Ryan Garcia responded. Cheesy
1063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I can’t cope on my own. What do you think I should do? on: August 21, 2023, 04:59:48 PM
Nah, I won't pay for betting tips. I'd seen it many times and just like you who'd been losing a lot before, it could also happen to that paid sports betting channel. Remember, luck is not always on our side. So as long as you have the time to do your own research and follow your favorite teams and players then you should be fine. There are many threads here that discuss soccer and basketball and many are also sharing their bets. You can start comparing their pick to yours. You can also observe their bets so you can identify who's always winning and who's not.
1064  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH LESS MONEY? on: August 21, 2023, 04:36:41 PM
So is this based on your experience OP or you're just sharing information taken from someone? It's easier said than done. Seriously, go for meme coins? Do you even realize that there are thousands of meme coins created already but then how many of them stay with value? I know Doge, Shiba and maybe we can include Pepe among the many meme coins where many investors earned big. But what is the % of success? Is it 3 over 10,000 meme coins? Imagine throwing $150 monthly hoping for a meme coin to pump without any good reason. That money would've been $1,800 for a year. And if you invested it in bitcoin, ethereum, and other altcoins that are performing in the last cycles then it'll probably be worth $10k or more in a bull run. And also, it is very important to diversify to protect your hard-earned funds.
1065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 21, 2023, 04:15:09 PM
Enough about James Harden. I think I've found an interesting topic to discuss.

Pelicans star Zion Williamson shows off new look in viral photos

Take a look at these viral pictures. What can you say about his appearance? He has been criticized for being overweight, with some suggesting that his weight is the reason he is prone to injuries. However, when you look at this 'scary man' now...

Wow, with that weight and still have that speed on him that might be for real, a scary monster that can eat you alive when facing you in a one on one.

Hopefully, he will maintain that body plus the skills that we all know he got when he step inside the court,
he was being criticized for being an overweight, now we will see his determination and maybe he might
complete a season without another injury(crossing fingers.)

At least we've seen some good news from him. The last time I heard about him was when he impregnated a porn actress. Cheesy

Looking at the picture, he's got toned muscles already. That's an improvement already. Although his weight is still very important even if he transformed his fats into muscles because his legs cannot hold for long if he is very heavy. So we're also hoping that he lost significant weight before he starts playing this season. He is still very young and his talent is extraordinary so the fans are really excited to see him healthy for the whole season.
1066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best Altcoin for this moment to accumulate right now? on: August 20, 2023, 12:41:38 PM
So it's my first time buying Doge for a year or two hold or maybe even more. I'm just trying to take advantage of the current dip although there is no assurance that this won't stop going down. I also bought a fraction of bitcoin during this dip.

So at the moment I already have Syscoin, Eth, Bnb, Gala, Chainlink, and Doge. Bitcoin remains 50% to 70% of my crypto portfolio. But I am also starting to weigh in if I could add more altcoins in my portfolio as they have the highest chances of increasing in the next major bull run.

Yes. right, and today is still very big discount. I finally got confused what to buy. I like the fundamentals but I'm also tempted by new altcoins..as you said there are huge opportunities if we choose and invest correctly.

The best thing to do is to just diversify mate. Say a maximum of 5 coins. You can buy 1 or 2 new altcoins and then the other 3 coins will be bitcoin and the other altcoins that are already at the top or at the very least continues to thrive like Syscoin. Syscoin is an old coin that is continuously being traded by the top exchanges and it also has decent trade volume so chances are slim of it getting delisted. Syscoin is also establishing its own all-time highs every 4-year cycle just like bitcoin. I am not promoting it, just stating it as an example of the coin that I am risking for possible high returns in the next bull run.
1067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New bull market or new bear market ahead? on: August 20, 2023, 11:23:08 AM
Right now, it is looking very bearish for our coins because recently, we had a big loss. Bitcoin and Ethereum almost dropped 10%.
But Bitcoin and Ethereum are still up from previous gains.
It is very difficult if we will have new bull market or new bear market ahead.

What is your personal expectation?
Relax mate. We are in the midst of month of August and this is the time where mostly believe of ghost month where everything went down. Obviously sensitive traders and people who are into this belief are probably converted into stable for a while and waiting for this to end and surely will buy back once the market regain again. I dont know but its normal when this month arrived. Btc and eth chart are both fine and we just need more volume to compensate those -10%

Upon seeing this comment I just realized that we are in a ghost month. It's a Chinese belief but knowing how big its economy is and its worldwide contribution then I won't be surprised if many non-Chinese are also practicing the same beliefs when it comes to the open market. There were years also in the past when I used to sell nearly all of my holdings in favor of USDT and then buy I'll just buy again later. Lately, I am starting from scratch so my holding is not big and it's probably the same reason why I am not very sensitive and forgot the ghost month. Anyways, at least I am able to accumulate more altcoins and bitcoin this time.
1068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: August 20, 2023, 10:59:29 AM
^^ Might be first time that we are going to see a 3 divisional and unified champion if Crawford chooses to fight the winner of the Charlo vs Canelo. But then again, if Charlo is going to move up 2 division, Crawford will have to do 3 here from 147 lbs to 168 lbs and it's a big jump that no one has done before.

So it's a big challenge for him, although I wanted to see him going for Charlo's belt 154 lbs (if he is not stripped of it fighting Canelo here). It will be extra ordinary for him to just 3 weight classes and then beat Canelo at 168 lbs.
If Crawford can pull that one successfully, it will be on the history books and that is the kind of record that could be unbeatable even if someone will try to pull that kind of move again in the future because it's not something that can be done easily. Crawford already did a history and adding another undisputed title in another division will definitely put him on the top of every boxer that has been around in the industry.

But the question is, can he pull that one off? It will be a risky one because he is still undefeated and regarding that jump, he needed to add 9 kilograms more or 11 pounds more just to get a fight against the one and only Canelo Alvarez.

Jumping in weight class is really risky, just like I said before, Roy Jones took that route going as high as Heavyweight but it took a toll on him when the tries to go down in weight as his body reacted different from a drastic weight cut.

Of course it's going to be one for the books, but if he is willing to do that and take a risk to go up and add from a super welterweight to super middleweight, it will be one hard to break and that is one record that will not be broken for a long time.

Canelo has a 3-fight deal with PBC and I expect those fights will be against the Charlos twins and then Jose Benavidez. But if Crawford is serious in his ambitions then Canelo might have an easy way of doing that PBC deal and at the same time makes more money. Canelo after Jermell will probably take on Jermall next as he won't allow that guy to fully recover from his inactivity and then late next year he will take Bud Crawford who's nearing 37 by that time. Benavidez will never get his chance of a title shot and the corrupt WBC won't mind him.

Crawford was probably being convinced by his team to take the Canelo fight because of the huge money involved. Bud already mentioned before that there is no way he is moving up to 168 and 175 and he sees Canelo as someone too big. If he is now convinced to fight Canelo then it will be the end of his undefeated streak. At 168 he will be heavier, and slower, and at 37 his reflexes are diminishing and I doubt his power can hurt Canelo who's been campaigning and fighting the bigger guys for some years already.

What's with this boxers though jumping in weight class, I wanted to think that they wanted to challenge the best and proved who is better. But as you have said, it no more that macho thingy, it's all about the money that they can generated right now before their retire and for sure this is in the minds of Crawford, and it's a win-wint for him. If he beat Canelo then his name is in the record books for sure. But if he lose, then he can still fight Charlo at 154 lbs and become a 3 weight division unified champ and again, it's all about the money today.

Obviously, it has evolved that anyone can challenge the other champions of the division, specially in the likes of Crawford who has clean up the best of the 147 lbs. Unlike before wherein we see boxers claiming to be the best by not just cleaning up the division, but defending it multiple times, like GGG or Bernard Hopkins.

Now they jump easily, unify the belts without much defending it against their mandatories.

And what you have pointed out, it's now a big business and these boxers are business man and specially if you are a champion, you wanted a fight that will give you $10M or higher per fight.

I like unification fights because we love to see undisputed champions in every division. But I do not like champions that are keeping their belts hostage and depriving their mandatories of their well-deserved title shots. Unless of course, when the champion is making a unification fight which makes it an exemption.

This has something to do with money. Bud is right, him vs Canelo at 168 for the undisputed belts is the biggest fight right now. That I am very confident that it would reach an easy over a million PPV buys. I am not saying Bud is a money-first type of fighter because we've seen what he did and it is all about legacy unlike Tank Davis and Tyson Fury. I don't see Bud winning over Canelo at 168 but imagine if he wins. The first-ever 3-division undisputed in the 4-belt era. Jumping up 3 divisions north to win the undisputed title along with his 135 lineal championship would be lit of an accomplishment and he will be considered one of the best ever if not the best. Only Pacman became the 5 division lineal champion and Bud has the chance to tie it with a victory over Canelo at 168 and Charlo at 154.

1070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Typical scenario when you are losing on: August 20, 2023, 10:13:14 AM
I can relate to this like all on the list. I know there is no science behind it but I also observed that most of my winning days are when I am not distracted and emotionally unaffected like greed. And I always have no luck in auto betting. My intention to auto-bet is to earn and not to be entertained. But I seldom do auto-betting. The last one which is to end the balance in a whole number is very funny and I also experienced it. There were times when I also like my balance to have no decimals and ends in 5 or 0. But so far I am mostly lucky when doing it.
1071  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big surprise in mid-August - Do not panic!!! on: August 20, 2023, 09:52:20 AM
Only newbies that aren't familiar with the price history of bitcoin panic. Or maybe those people that invested amounts that they cannot afford to lose or amounts that are expected to be utilized short term hence they cannot afford a huge downward swing. Apart from them, many are happy since they can buy bitcoin at a cheaper price. I am waiting for bitcoin price to drop back to $25k for months already so this is an opportunity for me. Although I woke up at $26k already and I just bought quickly thinking it may rise quickly.

^ We will see if Rolly Romero did have injuries or clearly ducking his mandatory in Ohara Davies.

I have to check Ohara Davies resume and boxrec though to check if indeed why Romero sense to be avoiding him (doesn't make sense), since he fought Tank Davis already, in short he has the balls so why now?

72 hours means it should be US time by Monday and by the following day we will know if he has suffered injuries or not or will be stripped of his newbly WBA belt at 140 lbs.
Seriously mate, having an injury is Rolly's excuse? Cheesy We'll see if PBC sent enough money to the WBA to deny Ohara Davies a title shot. Rolly along with Teofimo Lopez are the biggest names among the beltholders at 140. The problem though is Teofimo is a proven tough champion while Rolly was just spoonfed of that WBA belt against a very old guy who should've pulled the upset if not for controversial officiating.

Rolly cannot hold his belt for long because he is the easiest of all the champions. Maybe what PBC wants here is to let another PBC fighter take the belt rather than lost it to rival networks and promotions. Ohara is now with GBP and DAZN so Al Hymen is trying to manipulate the system once again.

...

Because Tapology is an MMA page and not even a boxing page so you'd be lucky to find fights that aren't from big boxing networks; i.e., DAZN, ESPN, and Showtime. There are many non-title fights for the rest of the month that are mostly available thru live streaming. Next weekend there is a title fight between the WBA minimumweight champion Oscar Collazo against Filipino contender Garen Diagan and this will be shown thru DAZN from Puerto Rico the champion's hometown.

1074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you will do? on: August 19, 2023, 02:07:32 PM
I picked lowering the amount to bet because it might mean that someone is betting an amount that hurts when someone keeps losing. For me this is the number 1 rule in gambling, bet only amounts you can afford to lose. There are no wrong answers in the choices so it is okay to try them all. I also did them all before. There is no harm in trying and experiencing them all if we felt bored or annoyed by the continuous losing streaks. After all, we all have different styles of gambling so maybe the other choices work for someone but not for other gamblers.
But this statement has become more or less a fallacy of words, because how can we know what we can afford to lose, because at some point, there is no amount is small to lose or gamble away and I believe that most of gamblers already are aware of that fact and their gamble what they can but not willing to lose any amount at any point.

Gambling is for fun and entertainment just like you said in your last paragraph, but then also many gambles for the rewards there can amass over time and not for the fun.

My basis with regard to losing a bet depends on my emotions. If I felt nervous especially when the game becomes close it means I put money that I cannot afford to lose. If I am hurt by a losing bet or if it made me regret then I went too far from my deserved betting budget.

Over the years I also tried many times to overextend my gambling time and budget so I can also get big wins. But it is not worth it especially if I ended up losing. Most people that gambled over their limits in order to amass vast winnings ended up losing except for the very few lucky ones.
1075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 19, 2023, 01:47:00 PM
Alright, schedules are up for the upcoming new season. Still very early but it's quite exciting since we've been waiting for months before we see our favorite teams and players once again.

There will be two big games on the first day. The first game will be the Lost Angeles Lakers visiting the defending champions Denver Nuggets. Jokic should be fully energized after having a lot of fun in his native Serbia. The second game will be the 4-star team Phoenix Suns visiting its old teammate Chris Paul and the Golden State Warriors.
Great opening schedule! I'm confident it will be a sold-out crowd, as it's an incredibly exciting game to watch. We'll witness what the Lakers have done to improve, and they'll face a stern test against a team that swept them in the WCF. I anticipate the odds will be in favor of the Lakers, so I might be tempted to support their attempt to avenge their embarrassing loss.

As for the Warriors, I expect them to perform better. Despite CP3 not being in his prime, he's still skilled enough to create space on the floor. Hopefully, he's highly motivated to play with his new team and elevate the performance of Curry and Thompson.

Pretty sure the first 2 games on the opening day will be sold-out. I will bet on Denver ML if it has a minimum of 1.50 odds. I believe they're pretty pumped to defend their title and they are also playing at home. The Lakers will let Bron and AD play but once the lead becomes wide I expect the team to not let their aging and sensitive stars play like there is no tomorrow especially since this is just a regular game.

Maybe the Warriors are still a dark horse team but personally, I am not seeing them as a potential championship team. It will be a shame though if the big 4 of Phoenix goes home empty-handed.

People are excited about the coming season but I would love to see Lillard and Harden get traded before the start of the season.

I'd love to see that but include Harden too.

Because it is more interesting if all teams have no issues within themselves prior to the start of the season. I'm still hoping Miami Heat gets Lillard too. Grin
1076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Oscar Valdez vs Emmanuel Navarette - Aug 12 on: August 19, 2023, 12:44:40 PM
As been expected the fight will be exciting and both will survive because they're Mexican, congratulations for Navarette and nice try for Valdez. I think Valdez's boxing career is already near to end as he can't win against a champion, he only fight for 1-2 in a year. Valdez has a stamina, but he's just not good enough and he's already quite old, he will improving too much even he will train more harder.

I agree with you mate, seems that he is due for retirement already. He got Naverette in the chin a few times but somehow it didn't bother the latter so that means his power is fading already and like you said, he can't win in a championship fight so better for him to retire. I don't know if there is a rematch clause on this one and if indeed there is, better if Valdez won't exercise it.

I doubt Valdez will retire right away. He just lost to the better man. Valdez landed huge power shots at Navarette that are capable of knocking out any guys in the division. It's just that Navarette is not only heavy-handed but has a very tough chin and a thick skin as I can't find any cut or bruise in his face.

I'd still favor Valdez to win over WBA champion Hector Luis Garcia and IBF champion Joe Cordina. Maybe it's 50/50 against the WBC champion O'Shaquie Foster. So there are still a lot of good fights left for Valdez before retiring. As for Navarette, he wants to unify his belt and there are also some rumors about a potential match-up against Shakur Stevenson who's already campaigning 1 division north.

I would love to see unification fights for this division to have an undisputed champion. I believe Navarrette would be the favorite now but the other networks are the main hurdle if they allow their underdogs to fight someone from a rival network with a huge potential of losing.
1077  Economy / Economics / Re: Am I a bad person if I manage to avoid taxes? (Hypothetical question) on: August 19, 2023, 12:08:17 PM
Avoiding taxes doesn't make you a bad person op and everyone feels that way, but very few have the balls to openly speak about it. This tax crap primarily affects the middle class when compared to other classes.

First world countries at the very least provide proper returns for your taxes while third world countries provide negligible returns for your taxes making their governments a whole lot worse.

As they say, nothing can be certain except for death and taxes.

This is really true. I came from a developing country but our system is very corrupt from the top to the bottom. No wonder other countries are bypassing us already in terms of development and progress.

I have already forgotten most of the taxation lessons during my college days but it is very clear that the middle class or the working class are the ones paying high taxes. Companies and corporations have many strategies and benefits for tax avoidance. Rich people in my country can even register dummy businesses here and then put all the expenses to make the regular report without a net income which means no tax to pay.

Hmm.

Highest price narinig ko is 500k isang aqua.

Cheesy

Alright, schedules are up for the upcoming new season. Still very early but it's quite exciting since we've been waiting for months before we see our favorite teams and players once again.

There will be two big games on the first day. The first game will be the Lost Angeles Lakers visiting the defending champions Denver Nuggets. Jokic should be fully energized after having a lot of fun in his native Serbia. The second game will be the 4-star team Phoenix Suns visiting its old teammate Chris Paul and the Golden State Warriors.

People are excited about the coming season but I would love to see Lillard and Harden get traded before the start of the season.

Here is the Los Angeles face-off between the two fighters, this is mega fight so it's going to be big fight,

So two undisputed boxers here, Charlo says that he will beat Canelo, so we will see. Hype has started already for this superfight.

I cannot wait for this fight to happen. I still believe that Canelo will return to his old beast form since he is more motivated to train harder against a fellow undisputed. Charlo may possess the skills and power that enabled him to become undisputed at 154 but he is moving up 2 divisions north. Canelo will be too big come fight night and he will continue to march forward to get a stoppage. And Jermell does not have enough power to make Canelo reluctant to come forward.

After this fight, Jermell said he will return to 154 and defend his remaining 3 belts against Terrence Crawford. Win or lose to Canelo I'm still doubtful about his plan of dropping back in weight. If he gets KO'd by Canelo then Bud will also demolish him at 154.

Yes, and we have seen boxers like Roy Jones Jr, who went as high as HW division to win a belt and then go back to 168 - 175 lbs and he wasn't the same anymore. And this could happen to Charlo as well, win or lose if he cuts back to 2 weight class down after fighting as high as 168 lbs, could have a devastating effect on his body.

But of course, we want him and Crawford at 154 lbs and there has been a lot of trash talking between this two party at the Spence vs Crawford fight. So it's going to be exciting for Charlo to lay down his 3 belts against Bud.

Tough to say for the Crawford vs Charlo fight because just like what you mentioned, there is a good chance that Jermell Charlo cannot go back anymore to his comfortable weight class where he has the undisputed belts and just like what the sanctioning bodies have stated in the past week, Charlo will not be an undisputed anymore after his fight against Canelo, regardless of the outcome of the fight. So, Crawford might not be that inclined to fight anymore because Charlo might not even go back.

Personally, if Canelo Alvarez destroys Jermell Charlo, I would love Charlo to drop 2 divisions again to fight Terrence Crawford for his 3 belts. Cheesy

Although it is really true that it is very hard to just move up 2 weight divisions and then drop in weight again. Roy Jones Jr. is a very good example moving up 2 weight divisions and becoming a heavyweight champion and then all of a sudden he was never the same when he dropped 2 divisions again.

Another example is Kell Brook who was then champion and undefeated but dared to move up 2 divisions north only to be brutally busted by GGG and breaking his eye socket. Brook after dropping weight again lost to Errol Spence. Former heavyweight champion Chris Byrd tried dropping 2 divisions thinking he would do good but ended up getting destroyed.

Manny Pacquiao also move up 2 divisions against Oscar De La Hoya but never went back to the same division again and instead dropped only 1 division to face Ricky Hatton.
