1721  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Andre August - December 15th in Florida on: November 09, 2023, 05:23:07 AM

Paul is making boxing a joke, no one ever heard of Andre August til he announced this fight. For all we know he just paid this guy in advance $50.000 to sleep whenever he do his signature move.
While I agree that both the Paul's are giving boxing a bad name, someone must be enjoying watching cause they do ok in the PPV market. It's really no different than McGregor and Mayweather, people found a way to get paid with some popular figures going at it. The only way it stops is if people stop paying for it, but thats not going to happen.

I don’t think Jake Paul is giving boxing a bad name. He’s putting in the work and matching up against better and better opponents. I won’t be surprised in another couple years when he gets a legitimate shot at a title.

I looked up his opponent as well. Dude seems like a legit boxer. While I’d prefer to see Jake beat up celebrities, you can’t hate on him for doing his best to have a legitimate professional boxing career.
1722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 09, 2023, 05:20:58 AM
This Warriors vs Nuggets game is coming down to the wire. I’ve been watching the game and I have no idea how the Warriors have been staying in it. The Nuggets are beating them in basically every category and outplaying them, but for some reason it’s a 1 point game with a couple minutes left. I think the refs giving them a ton of trips to the free throw line is the only area the Warriors are shining.
1723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 09, 2023, 02:27:38 AM
The Timberwolves are making the Pelicans look dumb tonight. They’ve got a 30 point lead in the 3rd quarter. I guess the Pelicans need Zion on the floor, but he’s having his first kid tonight which is definitely more important.

The Lakers are embarrassing themselves against the Rockets as well. Rui is the only guy on the squad doing anything.
1724  Economy / Speculation / Re: back in 2015 we had a nice pre 1/2 ing streak. on: November 09, 2023, 01:51:36 AM
I think when it comes to comparing historical norms, this cycle is going to be more than most people are expecting just because of the FTX fraud and how it depressed market prices for Bitcoin artificially. The true extent of this won’t probably be realized until 2025, but I think it’s likely to show up in larger than expected gains the entire way there.
1725  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] S17 Pro - 0.015 BTC obo on: November 08, 2023, 07:58:51 PM
I still have this. Would love for it to be supporting the network instead of collecting dust. I’m not exactly sure how much shipping would be for it, but I imagine it’s got to be worth something to someone. Especially now with prices starting to heat up. Looking for BTC only. Thanks for looking.
1726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: November 08, 2023, 07:42:13 PM
No Draymond tonight for the Warriors as they take on the Denver Nuggets. Given the already large size difference between the teams I think this will be problematic for the Warriors. Jokic should have himself quite a night. Draymond isn’t injured or anything as he’s listed as being out for personal reasons. Still, the Nuggets should easily get this win. We’ll see…
1727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Andre August - December 15th in Florida on: November 08, 2023, 07:40:38 PM
Is this real? I haven’t heard anything about it, which would be odd for a Jake Paul fight. I’ve never heard of his opponent either. I guess maybe Jake is trying to get another win on his record. Pretty common for fighters to do that sort of thing on their way to a lot of wins, but Jake typically fights known people so this is a little out of character.
1728  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 08, 2023, 07:19:46 PM
$37000 in one hour confirmed

That’s a pretty wild prediction but I’ll be here to pat you on the back should such a move materialize. Whether or not that happens, the market just keeps pushing upward looking for sellers. We’re either going to see the mother of rallies or a massive selloff when the ETF news gets announced and I think it will come sometime in the next 3 months… Excitement incoming.
1729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 08, 2023, 07:17:29 PM
Some good matchups today but the main game for ESPN is the Knicks and Spurs. A pretty terrible matchup in my opinion but it’s a chance to get a good look at Wemby on national tv. The later game between the Warriors and the Nuggets should be better basketball, as those two teams have a couple of the best records in the NBA.
1730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to keep your money in bank? on: November 08, 2023, 01:18:39 AM
Is it safe to keep your money in banks? I would say that your money is so safely stored in banks that when disaster strikes, it will be so safe you won’t even be able to get at it. How much safer could it be? Sure, that may sound like a joke but it is absolutely the truth. When you need it, you’ll only be able to pull out $200 a day of it…
1731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: For Newbies Interested in Gambling on: November 08, 2023, 12:47:34 AM
Calling one’s self a successful gambler is no different from calling yourself a successful arcade game player. You’re literally talking about a form of entertainment. So what makes a successful trip to the arcade? I would say it is having fun. So if you have fun gambling, you are successful. If you make money doing it, you got lucky and beat the odds…
1732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you cope with those around you not believing in you for choosing Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2023, 08:53:12 PM
I’ve been involved in Bitcoin for more than a dozen years now and I still have friends who make fun of me for it. I just roll with the punches. There’s no need to try and convince people of anything or show them the positive outcomes of your efforts. Let people not believe in you if they want to. It’s wasted effort to try and convince people of anything.
1733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your thoughts about potential newly borned coins during the bear market? on: November 07, 2023, 08:49:51 PM
I think people buying newly created altcoins are probably people who use words like borned. There’s no way that logically thinking people see Bitcoin and then think to themselves that they should probably dump all their money into some cloned worthless version some teenager is pushing as being able to change the world. I suspect the people buying them are either on a lot of drugs, or they’re just hoping to be able to do a quick flip to scam someone else before they get scammed.
1734  Other / Politics & Society / [POLL] Do you eat tacos on Taco Tuesday? on: November 07, 2023, 08:47:14 PM
I find myself eating tacos on Tuesdays quite frequently for a variety of reasons. Some of the reasons include lower prices, being part of something fun, and I figure that taco places are moving through a lot of product so maybe the food is fresher. What are some reasons why you do or do not eat tacos on Tuesdays?
1735  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 07, 2023, 08:38:17 PM
Looks like the price is pressing upward again. This rally continuing to show some real strength. This has got to be big banks filling their pockets while getting ready to launch exchange traded funds. Besides the surprising strength of the rally, I’m also a bit surprised that nobody in the mainstream seems to care yet. They must be waiting for a new all time high before jumping back in the game.
1736  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 07, 2023, 06:31:14 PM
@philipma1957, good news for all those who want to return to their youth - and just when the "medicine" is on the market, all long-term bitcoiners will be able to afford it Wink

A new therapeutic developed from compounds found in pig’s blood can reverse the age of rats, researchers claim in a new study.
The anti-ageing therapeutic – dubbed E5 – was developed from the blood of a young pig and injected into ageing rats, according to a new study published recently in the journal GeroScience.
E5, which consists of complex nanoparticles and young plasma sourced from pigs, could reverse the biological clocks of the rats by nearly 70 per cent on average, said researchers, including those from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
If the results can be translated to humans, it could mean the reversion of an 80-year-old to the age of 26, scientists claimed.

I really hope to start to see this finally on real life, but im reading and seeing this in the news from the early 2000 but no ones has reached the market yet.

Imagine this is true and fully available, are we prepared to live much more longer? With all of our beliefs changing so fast in this new era? I think we are gonna hit a big wall about mental health, and we gonna ended pray to die. (Yes i know this sound really fatalistic, but im talking about a hipotetical case and in a philosopical way.)

If my wife and I could age backwards from 66/67 to 26/27 in 1 year we would sign up for it.

But if they make you do it over and over and over it would not be so fine. Maybe 9 times like a cat's so called life.

If this becomes a thing I am really going to wish I avoided sports as a young man. No amount of anti-aging will take away the lingering pain from old injuries. I imagine as the years pile up, even with anti-aging, eventually you will be living a life in so much pain you will wish for it to end. Man wasn’t meant to live as long as we do now in my opinion.
1737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ferrari introduced BTC payment option for their cars on: November 07, 2023, 05:41:26 PM
Very strange that this wasn’t bigger news. I’m surprised this would be the first I’m hearing of it. Nobody really buys Ferraris that care about money anyway though I guess. Hopefully this leads to Tesla accepting Bitcoin for their vehicles again, as that would actually matter and probably make a big market impact given their sales numbers.
1738  Economy / Speculation / Re: My Best Bitcoin Chart Ever on: November 07, 2023, 05:38:02 PM
Bitcoin has always and will probably always run on a 4 year cycle. You don’t need fancy charts or trading methods. Historically speaking you just needed to buy in 2011, 2015, 2019, 2023, and sell in 2013, 2017, 2021, & soon 2025. It isn’t brain surgery and there’s no need to try and overcomplicate it. It really is that simple.
1739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 07, 2023, 05:35:28 PM
Adebayo being overshadowed but he just put up an impressive number "under the radar" against the Lakers. It's his best performance so far.
- 22 Points
- 20 Rebounds
- 10 Assists

I think the future of the Heat rest on his shoulders. He is as important to the team as Buttler so hopefully he remains consistent and produce double-double every game.

That is a monster performance. That’s the game that Anthony Davis sat out the second half because of a groin spasm right? Funny enough social media was calling it a boner… I digress. That performance shows how weak the Lakers are without Davis in the middle and with him being so injury prone, they’re pretty weak with him. They should’ve traded him two years ago.
1740  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hong Kong regulators might allow spot ETF on: November 07, 2023, 09:11:25 AM
Every country is going to have to offer their people a Bitcoin spot ETF in the future. Not doing so would be hurting themselves financially and their future prospects. Even though Vanguard claims they never will, I’m sure they too will not be able to resist the fees and cries of their customers to bring a Bitcoin spot ETF product to market.
