2141  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: May 15, 2015, 04:16:30 AM
Thanks for the explanation about the 30 minutes/1 hour thing. All those quotes are just confusing me right now. Cheesy

Completely forgot about the fact that quotes are clickable too.

Thought so. Smiley

So what would happen if someone with a member rank has an activity of 119 and makes 2 more posts in 1 hour to reach an activity of 121? Since activity is updated every 1 hour, they would have an activity rank of 121 after 1 hour. Would they instantly become a full member or would they have to wait until Tuesday when the next activity period begins? I'm guessing it's the latter?

Member with banked activity become Full Member in 1 hour but others will have to wait for the new period.

Earlier, activity updated every 30 minutes but it was changed to 60 minutes(1 hour). If you check posts, you can see Cyrus' post is old. Also, why didn't you check theymos' post rather than checking others' posts?

Quote
Activity and rank update at the same time. It updates every 14 days, 6 minutes & 40 seconds. Currently, the 14th day is Tuesday but it may change in future. See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582736.0 for activity update timings.

Clarification: I think what you meant to say was that activity updates every 1 hour but a new activity period begins roughly every 2 weeks. So in the above case, they would need to wait until the next activity period before their rank changes, correct?

Yes that's what I meant.
2142  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: May 15, 2015, 03:51:42 AM
Just a small question,
how often does the activity refresh? Ive heard that it refreshes every 14 minutes, correct me if I am wrong

The activity updates every (1) hour, not 14 minutes. Where did you read that thing?

Not him but...

This post claims that activity is updated every 30 minutes:

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every hour.

While this post claims that activity is updated every hour:

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every 30 minutes.

Which one is it?

Earlier, activity updated every 30 minutes but it was changed to 60 minutes(1 hour). If you check posts, you can see Cyrus' post is old. Also, why didn't you check theymos' post rather than checking others' posts?

And there is no mention in the OP of how often rank is updated. I presume this is every Tuesday?

See post below:

The rank will be updated on this Tuesday and most probably TheGambler's status as well will change. It doesn't seem to be a bug though as ranks don't change overnight but after every 2 weeks.

Or does it happen whenever the activity reaches the requirement (so basically every 30 minutes/1 hour)?

Activity and rank update at the same time. It updates every 14 days, 6 minutes & 40 seconds. Currently, the 14th day is Tuesday but it may change in future. See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582736.0 for activity update timings.

I hope this is the correct place to ask this question. I was told that a user who was a hero member , went back deleted hundreds of posts and still was able to be a hero member......

I know that name of this user but I don't want to be disrespectful to them and post it in public.

Just wondering if  this is how the board is designed to operate or if it is a 'glitch' or hole in the system Huh

See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1050395.0;all

Just recently, theymos confirmed that it's a glitch although it's not a particularly important one:

IIRC only Newbie, Hero, and Legendary members don't get demoted normally. Maybe I'll fix it at some point, but it's not really a big deal.

By looking at your post, I think you don't know the line "Quote from: redsn0w on 22:13:47, 07 April 2015", for example, can be clicked. It is a hyperlink. You can go to the post the quote was taken from.
2143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I move my cold storage to multisig? on: May 14, 2015, 04:04:35 PM
Is it possible to create multisig paper wallet ? If yes, how ?

Yea you can create one manually with bitcoin core in the console, and then save the 3 private keys, and the redeem script to paper. Easy for a typo error though, so I'd probably use a USB thumb drive instead of paper.

From the three private keys, how do I create one bitcoin address ? Does bitcoin core support this feature ?

Yes, you can do it in bitcoin core console.
All you need is the 3 public keys in hex format (i.e. 0347f3394ff0a223332b1de34d51c4cd5cd381d390c890b82fbd00af059f22e19d).

And do the command:  createmultisig 2 '["pub_key","pub_key2","pbk_key3"]'

Example to make a 2 of 3 multisig wallet.
Code:
createmultisig 2 '["0347f3394ff0a223332b1de34d51c4cd5cd381d390c890b82fbd00af059f22e19d","03f5c15b4b3045f585fc732d6a31abcf323fc7ee7745e18b9298072e7aa9a33d49","023293a9b92f639b1774d18194ab586cc095bc0eca53c6250fbe608c98ed25430b"]'

Also, don't send any money to a multisig address unless you are comfortable with sending raw transactions.

What do you mean comfortable with sending raw transactions?
Doesn't a multisig address accept coins sent using the normal way?

In Bitcoin core, you need to manually create a raw transaction and sign it. He is talking about it. Newbies can use different client which is multisig-friendly. For example, Armory.
2144  Other / Meta / Re: scammer gave me a Negative trust because He Defaulted in loan on: May 14, 2015, 04:03:04 PM
It seems that the OP somehow knew that BitcoinBoss666 was an alt of the person who took out the loan, so he gave him negative trust ~a week ago. Then BitcoinBoss666 saw the trust and didn't like it so he left a negative on the OP saying that even though he defaulted the collateral was worth much more then the loan amount so he should not be labeled a scammer. (The fact that you cannot give any kind of trust rebuttal or response is a flaw in the trust system).

I don't think anyone got scammed here. The OP gave a loan for .1 but got .3 worth of collateral. He profits regardless if the loan is repaid. BitcoinBoss666 consented to giving his account as collateral for the .1 loan and when his gambling strategy didn't work out he lost his account (this is pretty clearly a gambling loan).

I don't think the trust given to the OP was calling him a scammer but was rather giving a rebuttal to the rating that was left on his trust profile.

IMO, if a rebuttal or a response could be left then we would probably see less retaliatory feedback left and would probably see less drama regarding the trust system (but maybe not very much less).

I shouldnt gave him a Neg trust so that he can SCAM Others too?
I never scam nobody. You earn +200% on this loan and you call it scam? What is wrong with you?

You defaulted a loan. Isn't that a scam? When you took the loan, the value of the account was somewhat same but after it became Sr. Member, the value increased and you aren't scammer and you want the account back?

Senior account worth 0.1 ? you really joke. This account is worth min 0.3BTC. You earn 0.2BTC on this loan and call me scammer? What the hell is wrong with you?

You are a scammer because you didn't repay the loan.  Not difficult to understand.

This is interesting.  In an extreme case, if someone hypothetically provided 10x collateral on a loan and defaulted, you would label them a scammer?

I would've assumed the collateral is part of the "deal" such that, whether or not the original loan amount is repaid, the lender is satisfied (else the conditions of collateral wouldn't be agreed to).

The defaulted borrower deceived irfan_pak10 for his financial gain. So he is a scammer.
This was pretty clear that this was a gambling loan (there is no other reason to borrow such a small amount lol). I don't think it is his fault that he lost/busted/ect. The OP still profited from the deal. In order to be a scammer you need to either steal property from someone or try to steal property from someone. Who did he steal from? Please note that the OP ended up with more property then he started with.

But... When he took the loan, the value of the account was somewhat same but after it became Sr. Member, the value increased. Then telling he isn't a scammer because Irfan got more than he gave doesn't make sense. Scam doesn't mean "stealing", it means deceiving a person for financial/personal gain
Okay so say the value is the same. The lender would still profit.

When altcoins are used as collateral a standard condition is that if the value of the altcoins falls below a certain threshold then they can be sold to cover the amount of the loan. I would say that often the borrower would not technically pay back the loan in those cases however they would not be a scammer.

There is not even a case of deception here. I assume the loan agreement to be something along the lines of the borrows will repay a certain amount by a certain date, and if this does not happen then the collateral will become the property of the lender.

I would restate my offer to make the OP "whole" by reimbursing the amount he was "scammed" aka the repayment amount if he is willing to give me the account (assuming he has a signed message).
I can give you signed message to all addies.

No use unless irfan_pak10 is ready to give account to QS for 0.1BTC. IMHO he should sell it for a higher price.
He should give it becouse he call it scam ! Higher price ? that mean he will earn on this loan? And you call this scam. You are his friend and you will always defend him.

In his point of view, this is a scam but I don't see why he should give the account he owns to you.

I think discussion about tspacepilot-QS should be taken to tspacepilot's thread.

MZ, I don't understand you.  You are linking us to r3wt's ancient opinions in the thread where practically no one believed me and everyone believed tf and then I walked away.

However, I have to ask why you are bringing this back up in this thread?  Why are you linking to r3wt's opinions?  What does it have to do with anything here?

Just replied to the bolded part in shorena's post.

I don't know if a negative for scamming is appropriate or not as you don't have a shady behavior for over a year. It is debatable.

Scamming a scammer is also a scam. We should better take this discussion to your thread(if wanted).

Top Saudi Cleric Thankful Christianity Outlawed In His Country: “It Suffices Me Not To Hear Church Bells Ringing”…

[ img]https://i.imgur.com/SirwXlQ.jpg[/img]

Saudi Sheikh Adel al-Kalbani, former Imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca and current prayer leader of Muhaisin Mosque in Riyadh, recently issued the following “tweet” on his personal Twitter account: “My beloved nation: It suffices me that you shelter me from hearing church bells ringing in you.”

This is reminiscent of when another top ranking Saudi religious leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah declared in 2012 that it is “necessary to destroy all the churches of the region.”

The similarities don’t end there.  No mainstream media in the English language reported the 2012 anecdote till I did.  And as of this moment, this anecdote concerning a leading Saudi cleric relishing the fact that no church bells can be heard in his nation is left completely unreported in Western media.

Would that be the case if, say, a top Vatican official declared that he longs for the day when all mosques are banned in Italy?

Perhaps more ironic, the MSM is acquainted with Sheikh Adel al-Kalbani.  The New York Times, for instance, has an entire spread about him.  The “happy” and “hopeful” theme is how al-Kalbani managed to rise to the top in Saudi Arabia — which is apparently “tolerant” — by becoming the first black Imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca.

Take a 1 month leave and appeal again. Your account maybe unbanned.

Hi Zakir,

Would you please to teach me how to do that ! I really don't know what I should do

Sincerely thank you !

Don't click "Post" button for one month. After that ask again in this topic, "Can you unban me now please?".

Yea im scammer becouse he earn 0.2BTC on this loan. Good job. That why he get collateral worth 300%, and now he call me scammer. If i take loan without collateral he can call me scammer. But he earn 300% on this loan !
It's not how much the collateral is worth. You should have asked more BTC or gave less valuable collateral or at least pay him promptly. Note that, the account was Full Member when he used it as collateral. You didn't pay on time and now asking the account realizing it became Sr. Member and is more valuable. Go away!
What a bullshit. I know my account will be senior in 10 days after i take loan. And i even type in in request. He earn 300% on this loan and you call me scammers. Nice forums and nice members.

You didn't pay the loan and now asking the collateral back realizing the value? You should have repaid the loan if you don't want to loose this account. You are calling him a scammer because he was lucky to get a 300% collateral? Lender become the owner of collateral if the loan is defaulted. You should really learn more.

 -snip-
I know he is owner of this account now you dont need to teach me. And he tell my account worth 0.1btc that why i want it back becouse this is bullshit. He will earn this 0.1 in 2 weeks from signature campaign.

He can do whatever with that account. None of your concern.

99% of the time you use escrtow you'll be fine.. just make sure they are trusted. Smiley

Its not an excuse.

I was happy to ship my spare iPhone 4s, and GPUs to use as collateral and put in 2.5btc into escrow.

If that doesn't count as collateral nothing will and nothing will please you.

If you want to pay for shipping I'd happily put in some gpu's to post to you to hold onto.
A loan is just that a loan its to pay off over time. Why do you need btc to the same value of what you want to loan. It doesn't make sense!!

If you have 2.5BTC, isn't it better to take a 5BTC loan with collateral?
