2161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 10, 2022, 10:54:58 AM
Kudos to Paul Butler for doing this. I cannot easily believe that he just signed this match-up. Is he too honorable or he's getting paid at least a million dollars in this fight or maybe both? But I am very happy that finally another undisputed championship is happening. Boxing is a little back to its glory days when champions should fight each other.

Inoue will smash Butler pretty easily. Faster, stronger, more powerful puncher, stronger chin, higher IQ, better stamina, heart and has more experience in high-level fights. Is there even an advantage that Butler has? Maybe some can say he is taller and has longer reach? But it also means he will enter the ring slimmer which is vulnerable to body punches.
As you probably know the ones that organize the fights are the promoters and not the boxers themselves, and I really think that what happened was that since boxing and pretty much all the sports world was stopped because of the pandemic the promoters decided to do their best to regain the popularity of boxing, and the best way to do this is by giving to the fans exactly what they want, and what we want is that the different champions face each other in unification fights as soon as possible, which is the reason we are seeing so many of those fights recently.

But there are cases, that boxers doesn't want to face a particular fighter, or the promoter themselves cherry picking the opponent for their fighters. So for me it's 50/50, boxers and promoters chooses who fight they want to do next. But I guess in this case, Butler has no choice, he had the belt and he was not supposed to be the fighter that Inoue is going ot face, but unfortunately Casimero lost to Butler without throwing and now he had the task to face the Monster.
2162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 23 on: September 10, 2022, 10:36:18 AM
As per Shakur, we might see him moving up to 135 lbs sooner than expected because he admitted that his body has difficulty making the 130 lbs limit.

Quote
“It all depends on the weight cut at the end of the day,” said Stevenson during an interview with Thaboxingvoice. “I done (did) amazing things at 130-pounds already. My last two fights to be specific, I done put on shows and I done did a lot at the weight, so if I struggle with the weight cut and it be hard on me, I think I’m going up to 135. Tell them boys get ready.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/shakur-stevenson-move-up-135-sooner-expected-tell-them-boys-get-ready--168907

And we all know that his target is Tank Davis. So if ever he wins and if he think that he is going to struggle to make the weight cut again, he will definitely go up. And then the 135 lbs will continue to be one of the most stock up weight classes.

I'm not sure what he is obsessed with Tank though, maybe it's there contrasting style and that he wanted to see how he will fare against a good power puncher and his defense trying to elude that one punch that will change the course of the fight.

And it's obvious that struggling to make weight, he should go to 135. But I'm not seeing him directly going up against the champion. Arum will have to set him up against perennial contender but not enough to pull an upset when he goes up.

It's his confidence I guess, Shakur is coming up in the last couple of years while Tank has established his name already. And Shakur beat 2 champions in Herring and Oscar Valdez and that is enough for him to boost his confidence and thinks that he can beat anyone including Davis. But negotiations might not be enough as Tank is on the side of Floyd and we all know that Arum and Floyd has a bitter divorce, so not sure if this fight can be made in the future. And I'm also not sure though if Davis has sign a new contract with Floyd's promotional company or not.

Not only that, but it's the only fight that make sense for him, as there will be money, huge money to be made by both fighters. So he is particularly zone in with Davis, and maybe just like what Ryan says, if the beat Davis, maybe they will get the respect that they needed. So all roads at 135 lbs money wise is Davis, but all the belts belong to Haney. So it's really up to him on which path he wanted, but it looks like Davis is his hit list for money and respect, it's just a matter on how he can demand Top Rank to give him that fight.

There are a lot of options for him to be honest, it's that his main goal is Davis.

He can wait for the Haney vs Kambosos fight or Loma. But he always insists on fight Davis right away when he moves up. Good test for him maybe the likes of Isaac Cruz or Rolly Romero to do if his defense will be effective to this big puncher at 135 lbs otherwise he might face a big knock out loss in the hands of Davis. Definitely there is money, but it might hurt him a bit at this new weight if he goes right away on Tank.
2163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid Scam Tokens in the name of late Queen Elizabeth on: September 10, 2022, 10:01:23 AM
The crypto world with its convenience and freedom makes it easier for fraudsters to carry out their actions. It's better to be careful and learn more for all not only beginners in the crypto world, because fraudsters will take advantage of every moment and way to launch their actions.
Goodbye Queen Elizabeth

True, but as investors, we can handpicked with project to invest or not. If we think that it will be a scam like the one being proliferated right now due to the death of the queen then we should stay away from it and never give the fraudsters to get money from us. And as such, we know that this project is just short term, after the hype of the death by the Queen, all of them will also be disappear. So I do agree that everyone should avoid this tokens at any cost, not even a single satoshi should be 'donated' to this scammers.
2164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 10, 2022, 09:36:00 AM
I expected Ruud to struggle a bit more against Khachanov, he was on cruise control for the majority of the match. Alcaraz was also dominant against Tiafoe - although Tiafoe managed to prolong it by winning both tie-breaks.

Alcaraz will favor his chances in the final, they played each other twice and Ruud is yet to win a set. They played on hard recently in Miami - with Alcaraz winning the final 7-5 6-4.

Yeah, probably Alcaraz will be the favorite (haven't check sport bookies yet), but for sure might be Ruud will give Alcaraz problems as he had improved. Maybe 3 or 4 sets in this finals and a lot of amazing shots from both players.

And the same with the womens, Swiatek as the top seed, will be the favorite and definitely keep his number 1 rating as she is simply dominating the ladies side.
2165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LUNA PUMP on: September 09, 2022, 10:00:11 PM
All projects related to LUNA seems getting too much attention right now and it’s expected to pump more as we are nearing for the update. USTC will be the next to pump most probably, since it is still not overbought and still in a good range. Though with the current pump, I still careful on dealing with LUNA because I know this is just the hype for the update, and it can dump any time as well. Better to play short or long if you see opportunity, don’t just hold.

I haven't follow the news about Luna since the debacle except wanting to see how the government of South Korea is treating it against Do-Kwon.

But if there is an update, then expect that the pump will probably go on another days or weeks, until it crashed again. Good opportunity for others to make their money as what the OP did. But for sure this is not going to be sustainable. So if I'm in the OP shoes, I will take my money out of Luna as it is very risky.

2167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 09, 2022, 09:23:38 PM
It was reported that  Mavericks forward Maxi Kleber is finalizing a three-year, $33 million. I think it's a good offer that he got from the Dallas management. He is a good compliment to the play of Luka as he can spot him wide open in the corner or any spot and hit that 3 so good for him.

That's a decent contract to me for a role player. Maxi Kleber is one of the best role players in the Mavericks right now and his chemistry with the team, especially on Luka Doncic is perfectly well-balanced. Aside from that, Kleber has a good shooting stroke and can drain shots at the 3-point area.

This is good that Kleber is being recognized in the Mavericks. He has the potential to keep on growing.

I agree, it was a decent offer by the Dallas team, I guess they have to preempt it and don't want to happen what Jalen Brunson did. So they offer him that I will say a big contract for a role player like him

But we have seen as a role player, he is really that good, the chemistry in offense with Luka. And he can play defense too in the middle because of his height.
2168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 09, 2022, 09:05:08 PM
What a start of this first semifinal between to quality players in the world Khachanov vs Ruud in first set both breaks serve two times, but fight back very quickly which is showing their commitment and quality which is essential for this Grand Slam after end of first set with the score of 6 - 6 Ruud won this by tiebreaker with the score of 7 - 5 look like it's going to be five set match as both are having good service and good returns entertaining match is going to be long both are fighting hard for place in final as now after many years we are going to have final without big three.

Second set started with Khachanov done good start after having score of 0 - 40 won his first game.
Ruud improved his game on hard court drastically since last season. He still isn't the best out there but he can run to almost any ball and he is solid with all his strokes. Still can't believe he has a chance to be no. 1 in the world if he gets further then Alcaraz here.

Very interesting situation all around, if Ruud and Alcaraz loose today - Nadal is no.1. If one of them wins and the other looses, winner is no.1. I want to see Ruud - Alcaraz final and if we get it, then the winner of US OPEN becomes no. 1 as well. My money and sympathies go towards Alcaraz, he simply has that something that makes you wanna cheer for him.
In second set Khachanov completely outclassed by Ruud with two serve breakers and Russian have three double faults look like he is going to lose his match in straight sets which could be never been ideal situation as most of the money was done on over which was good but his decline game and poor service giving impression he is already down and out from this match and most chances we are going to have final between Ruud vs Alcaraz as I have positive feeling about this player even Tiafoe is also in good touch but can't stand against this quality player who is going to be number one in next few days after winning this Grand Slam in style.

Already on the third set now, and Rudd is up two to nil. So my money on Ruud, he is becoming one of my favorite as well. As I also observed that he has improved a lot on hard court.

Yeah, lots of scenario and of course we had our favorite to go into the finals and I like the shown between Ruud and Alcaraz. Just let those two fight it out as who is to become the number 1 player.

Anything for a good education courses about bitcoin is good. And to add that Jack Dorsey and Jay-Z is sponsoring it? much better.

And I think more will be interested if they hear and understand financial freedom. And maybe they can set themselves as an example on how to get it, but this time it will be through the help of bitcoin and hopefully someone will appreciate and will used the knowledge and the money they got and invest on it.

After the fall of the market will be a rise of the market. Now many interesting projects appear but it is very important to check them and evaluate their potential https://coingape.com/sponsored/budblockz-first-nft-collection-will-come-with-membership-to-a-new-digital-cannabis-community/

During the fall of the market it is the best time to buy tokens for the best and most profitable price.
That is why it is important to check new projects that appear on the market to evaluate their potential.

Fall of the market is a good opportunity to buy tokens of new and prospective projects for the best price.
A lot of new projects appear and it is very important to evaluate how they are prospective.

Of course, it's always a good opportunity to buy cheap tokens at bear market, that is a fact. But the problem is there are inexperienced investors in the market who are afraid to buy and would rather invest on some shitcoin and meme coins because they think they can get rich quick, but that is wrong mindset.

For new projects in this bear market, there is a potential, but it might take some time before we realized what project is good or what project is bad. No one can really tell what is the true potential because of the market sentiments today.
2171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 08, 2022, 09:32:34 PM
^^ Right, I think the over might be a good bet for this matches specially high level from the last 4 standing players.

Might be doing a parlay at over, let's see.

In the womens, it will be Swiatek and Sabalenka on the other semi finals. It's going to be hard to predict as Swiatek has some anxious moment in this tournament, losing 1st set, just saying.
2172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: September 08, 2022, 09:16:21 PM
Is anybody here following Haney's Twitter? I like how he is being vocal and at the same time trolling or trash-talking. Last month, Haney was trolling Teofimo Lopez calling his performance like a poor one against a non-ranked fighter.

This month of September he is targeting Tank Davis, calling his WBA regular belt a Mickey Mouse belt. Of course, the WBA belt is not a major title since Haney got the Super WBA belt and all the remaining belts in the division. It's funny because prior to becoming an undisputed champion, Haney was called an e-mail champ after his WBC interim belt was upgraded as the WBC champion after the corrupt WBC president Sulaiman tried to introduce its new WBC Franchise (similar to Super WBA belt) belt as a major belt with higher credits than the usual WBC belt.

I actually like that he's too vocal, honest,, and opinionated at the same time. Most of his tweets are reliable though he's calling out other boxer's performances in a negative way yet his honest with his reviews. Other boxers and fans are already aware that Haney is just vocal at everything. He says things straight forward without fearing anyone.

He's just giving back the favor that he received some time ago, just like you said, he was used to be called as an e-mail champ. Now that he is the undisputed boxer in lightweight, he can now say anything what he likes to say to his fellow boxers in the same division as long as he doesn't cross any line. And of course, he has the right as he now boast to be the boxer to unify the belts in the said division.

Right, he was not given the respect he deserved some time ago. They said that he doesn't have the superstar power of the other 3 lightweights that time, but how ironic that he is now the undisputed and the other 3 has no belts except for Davis. So it's cool to here this from Haney and hopefully he can schedule with either Tank or Garcia or even Lomachenko in the future.
2173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 08, 2022, 09:01:37 PM
No doubt offensive production, but Melo also needs to adjust to his defense, younger star might expose him and take that advantage, giving him a tough game, treating him as the weak side to make or create a play on his side.
kind of coach doesn't want to see having someone inside as a liability.

Seems not appropriate for me to expect Carmelo Anthony to adjust his defense at the current point of his career. He is almost on the retirement period. Why expect him to adjust on his weak side wherein the best thing he can do is to take advantage of what he's capable to do. The roster can be balance with both offense and defense. No need that all players are good in defense especially if Melo is on the lineup.

If struggling, then sit him out. He is currently averaging less playing time now compare to his usual. No need to give him 30MPG or something.

Yes, the league already knows that Carmelo is more of an offensive kind of player and even if he tries on adjusting his weak side, that will just mess his entire play because he will mostly try to improve his weakness rather than boosting up his strengths. Along with that fact, the whole league is looking at him as an additional asset in terms of offense because he can still give good numbers at his age.

The problem is that he's a liability on defense.  He had flashes of effort last year, but it's clear that he's out there to hit some threes and pad his stats.  I'm fine with it, but he's going to have difficulty landing an offer from a franchise he wants to be a part of.  Dame got him into Portland and LeBron got him into LA, but I think he's running out of friends to get him roster spots and I personally believe he's been blackballed from the NBA, so without a superstar making a push to sign him, he may have played his last game in the NBA.

I think teams already knew that he has and will be a liability on defense. When he play with Denver and then New York, in his prime, he didn't play defense, but he brought success to the team. And so now, it is just more evident as he is not the same Carmelo Anthony we know. We see from time to time flashes of old self in Portland and Lakers. So the next team that will get him should understand this and weight if he is more of an asset.
2174  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is a reliable store of value - what’s a reliable store of value for you? on: September 08, 2022, 08:44:51 PM
I still want to keep my money in bitcoins and even though the price will still be as it is now, up and down, I'm not afraid because it's just a part of bitcoin that will probably always be there until later. If you are afraid to save money, maybe you need gold as a place whose price will not change much compared to other types of investments.

As long as you are not going to sell it in a bear market or at least a time that you will never profit then your money is good with it as store of value.

Bitcoin is a unique store of value because its price can go down and up, and we never know when that will happen. Apart from that, the rarity of bitcoin is one thing that makes it unique so I think bitcoin is a store of value as well as gold.

Again, still boils down on how you are going to put your money on it to become a store of value. So it's really up to us per individual on how we are going to make it our own store of value. Because if we look at the price it is very volatile, hence could not be classified per se at SoV.
2175  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin do $19k again before a bull market? on: September 07, 2022, 09:47:55 PM
The last 2 days the bitcoin price dropped more than 10% and is now only around $18600, I hope we are at the lowest point and hope to return to $20k soon, if previously the price was below $20k it only happened a maximum of 40 hours and now it's more than Our 50 hours are under $20k.

We have seen worse when btc went under 200$ in past, I'm bullish on bitcoin for the end of this year.
I think we'll see a sudden surge in btc price like we saw in past, btc going over 1k, then 10k, then 20k. those boundaries were crossed quickly, I think the same will happen now.

At least the market has started to recover right now, we are over $19k and it seems the bleeding has stop or traders and long term investors started to buy bitcoin when it was $18k. So that is good to hear that we didn't go lower than we expected in the last flash crash, no lower lows. But, we are still in the bear market, so I'm not expecting a huge pump till the end of the year and we could see a sideway pattern again this month.
2176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 07, 2022, 09:29:42 PM
it gets really interesting, Ruud and Khachanov in first semi-final

on the other half, Alcaraz has also possibility to reach no.1, and facing Sinner, while Tiafoe is facing Rublev, who ever wins US Open, it will be his first GS title, and that is happening after last season Medvedev catch his first title here, and eventually reached no.1, is this history repeating for some other player?

Yes, most likely we might see a new no. 1 after this tournament, as Nadal and Medvedev is out and so is Djokovic. And it looks like the era of big 3 is coming to an end now, but hopefully we can see another set of players coming as the heir apparent, like Alcaraz and Sinner. Rublev vs Tiafoe, let's see if Tiafoe can continue his giant run. One of the favorite, Nick is gone so the crowd will have to find someone to cheer and it could be Alcaraz.

And Tiafoe beat Rublev in 3 sets, almost all of the games went into tie-break. But Tiafoe converted one in the 3rd set and it was enough for him to win against Rublev.

Waiting for the result between Alcaraz and Sinner. They are schedule to play at in 3 hours. But since the match of Tiafoe and Rublev ended much earlier. The Alcaraz vs Sinner could be advance as well and hopefully I can still watch it my timezone.

Anyone who has seen the interview with Patrick Beverley? The reporter asks what are his thoughts about playing with Lebron and Davis.

And you'll find it funny with what he has answered. He said, "They're playing with me."  Cheesy

--> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veFBxgrwN6I

That's the video from NBA on ESPN channel on YouTube. I'm not affiliated with them, it has 1M+ subs.

Typical delusional Pat Bev stuff… I really hope he isn’t a starter for them this year.

An article also came out today talking about how Utah sent Donovan Mitchell to Cleveland as payback for him poisoning the team chemistry after Rudy Gobert gave everyone covid. Not a good look for Utah or Mitchell really.

I don't think he will be a starter in Lakers, for sure he will have to come from the bench and do his thing, with his defense. And probably he said it as somewhat like a joke so we shoudn't take it seriously.

As for the Mitchell and Gobert, it's weird though if that is the real reason for sending both of them out of Utah. But it's obvious that they have a problem in the playoff and it seems they always choke.
2178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum (ETH) on Its Way to $2,100, Top Trader Says ! on: September 07, 2022, 01:58:55 PM
we are approaching the latest version of ethereum. I think it needs an adjustment that we don't know when it will stabilize. but for ethereum to be able to return to the top even though there are bad things in the adjustment it is not difficult. from the start ethereum already held position two and lasted even more than a year, maybe the adjustment won't take long.

Unfortunately, the hype has died down because the market is suffering from a sell-off. I don't know what is the reasoning behind, but it seems there are a lot of FUD and negative news that influence the selling pressure. So it's hard for ETH to go above $2k even if the merge will push or has push already. Nevertheless, we should hope that it will be successful including those who are going to have a chain split resulting to ETHW or whaever they will call it as free coins.
2179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 07, 2022, 01:28:40 PM

But yeah, just a couple more days to go before this finally landed, everyone is anticipating that they will just continue what they left off in the 2 fights that the had, round 25 in this trilogy starts.

I know everyone is patiently waiting for this one, it's going to be another great fight for sure, just like the last two fights, it's not boring, and since it could be the last fight, this trilogy will surely end up leaving people entertained after the fight. The question now is, who will win the battle, the majority think Canelo will win, but I think GGG really has a shot here, the underdog is gonna win, my guess.

Check the votes in the poll, majority thinks that GGG will win in this fight.

Maybe you are talking about the sports bookies odds, yeah, they have Canelo as the favorite just like in the first 2 fights. Nevertheless, boxing fans here like you wanted to see that this 3rd fight will be in GGG greatest performance, enough for him to secure a win in the judges card, and please no controversies, we already have that in the first 2 fights.
2180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 07, 2022, 01:08:49 PM
That is why the percentage of Inoue winning isn't 100%.  There is always this extra factor, the one that is unpredictable that can turn the match into an upset win.  But in the case of Inoue, I think Inoue can handle the strongest punch of Butler, so Butler winning via TKO/KO is really slim.  The only way for Butler to win the fight is to outpunch Inoue and drag the fight to judge's decision.  Which is kinda hard for Butler because as far as I know (if I am not mistaken), there are only 2 of Inoue's fights that go to the judge's decision.

That's right. Upset is not possible here because a LUCKY PUNCH SHOULD BE THE STRONGEST PUNCH.

Even Paul Butler can able to land successfully a blow on Inoue, is the power enough to take the monster down?

Therefore, don't expect a lucky punch rather Butler needs to rely on his own strategy to win.
If Butler happens to win then this would be one of the biggest upsets we have seen in the last 10 years, but no matter how much I think about it this seems like it is something impossible for Butler to do, the only realistic strategy I can think for Butler is for him to try to avoid a close quarter fight and keep his distance from Inoue during the whole fight and try to beat him on the score cards, but even a strategy like this seems beyond the capabilities of Butler to execute.

Yeah, but the question is, can Butler do that to Inoue right now? This Inoue in the last couple of fights is really destroying the opposition like they are a total mismatch. He is like a prime version of Manny, when he started to go up in weight and then beating the champion in that division. So I'm sure Arum knows that very well, so after setting him to win here, he will go up again and unify the belts in the next division. Butler and the rest will have to really catch up on Inoue, but not seeing him creating the upset.
