I tried checking the wallet links you provided and it was tagged as malicious. Not sure if it is false-positive but for the meantime, avoid downloading the wallet files that OP just provided.

643  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Hellar - Plagiarized Whitepaper on: September 29, 2023, 03:52:23 AM
They had the audacity to create a self-moderated  thread where some members tried to put up some warning only form them to delete those posts

Here is the archived link of the ANN thread.
This is a clear indication that they wanted to hide their red flags right from the beginning, and they deserved a trust flag, which I am going to open against their profile.

Trust flag - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3211

Hey, thanks for creating the flag! I actually forgot to open a flag accusation against them but with all these overwhelming evidence, this is indeed a 100% scam. The funny thing is, they in fact so lazy to replace or to do anything that they blatantly copied everything from a well-known crypto.

Will edit the post and add the flag! Thanks!

Seeing these after some time now, maybe less forum members are active on them nowadays, good to see old @qwertyup123 still hunting them out. The method is old but it works like a charm on the less experienced newbies and because the scammers run a self-modded thread, more chances of them staying in the shadows and the need of this thread to refute them.

Their ANN thread is just an echochamber of the thread creator.

Flag supported from my end.

Hey, this really means a lot! I remembered around 2-3 years ago I was really into busting scams in the forum. I guess my real-life priorities got the best of me but I guess I'm back! Every once in a while, I will definitely scan the ANN section to look into ANNs manually and check their WPs and team members for potential plagiarized posts or fake team members.

This aint the last time you'll be hearing from me! Appreciate it, thanks Ultra!

647  Economy / Economics / Re: How to reduce the price of goods on: September 25, 2023, 06:05:17 PM
I have been thinking and trying to analyze what is really causing the high cost of food in Nigeria, I came to realize that monopoly is the major factors, Nigeria government are the enablers. How can one person be the sole major distributor, government should welcome competition in the business sector, every business person should be allowed to produce.

Oh that is just very unfortunate to hear.

When a business owns several factors of certain products, they have full control over the prices of goods on the market. Since there is no competition at all, they have all the discretion whether to increase/decrease their prices since customers would always be compelled to buy such products/goods to them. This is the reason on why competition is highly recommended- but it must be a "healthy" competition to preserve the economy and market.

If the Nigerian government supports this monopoly, then it speaks on how corruption works on your country. I just hope that there will be change that is enacted to counter and address this very difficult issue as this can cause a financial turmoil to everyone.
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowledge vs hodlings on: September 25, 2023, 05:35:15 PM
Don't make it complicated, just try to understand fiat and compare it with Bitcoin, you will know the reason why you must holding Bitcoin.

lastly you can always earn Bitcoins once you have a solid knowledge of it .you can even earn Bitcoins indirectly by teaching others or even running a local exchange and lots more.
Having knowledge about Bitcoin doesn't make you able to earn, it's just a currency. What you're need to learn is a hard skill that you can work and get paid from someone e.g. design, programmer etc. No one want to use unknown local exchange that charge high fees, they prefer to use centralized exchange.

Like what I have previously mentioned, having the knowledge about forecasting the price of BTC is useless with inaction. There must be some sort of application where you can use this knowledge for you to maximize your BTC investments.

If you think that HODLing BTC, by using your initial investment, is better for short-term, then feel free to do so. I agree with you- at the end of the day BTC is considered as a currency and an investment at the same time.
649  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Journey of a newbie. on: September 25, 2023, 05:17:14 PM
I have always been confused about crypto currencies and how they work... how they are stabilised and regulated but with the present plight and constant devaluation of my country's currency, it's safe to say I need to learn, practice and own a safer landing, the banking systems are not helping with constant maintenance levies and network issues. I'm aware that there is no perfect place but anywhere with a more better solution is more preferable. Cheers to the beginning of a new journey.

Cheers for joining this forum, OP!

Your journey starts here- as you slowly learn about cryptocurrencies, it is safe to assume that they can be a good store-for-value investment due to its price constantly increasing on the market. Even if your local currency devalues due to inflation, cryptocurrencies are relatively better as an investment mechanism for long-term growth.

Enjoy the ride and let cryptocurrencies change on how you would view investments for the future, OP.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Flip or Trade? What’s The Bigger Gamble? on: September 25, 2023, 04:31:41 PM
Lost in the whirlwind world of day trading? It often feels like a maze with big folks and their flashy tools, leaving us hoping for a stroke of luck. Imagine ditching the tricky charts for a simple, real coin flip, person vs person, with a fair 50/50 chance. No gimmicks, no house edge, just a clear, honest game.

What’s your take? Does day trading seem more of a gamble compared to a straight-up coin flip

I somehow disagree that day trading is more of a gamble compared to as straight-up coin flip.

Sure, day trading may seem like a gamble due to the risks involving the subject as lots of newbies lose their money as well. But the biggest difference here is the experience of a person that can equip them with the knowledge of trading. As everyone knows that trading is a risky venture, there are certain skills and techniques that one can learn in order to lower the risks of losing your money.

In conclusion, there is that illusion where one likens day trading to gambling. But the biggest difference is that the player can somehow control the risks involved by applying their experience and techniques to lower the risk of losing your money.
651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Trust RNGs (Random Number Generators) in Casinos? on: September 25, 2023, 03:07:07 PM

After going through a couple of threads on the Gambling Discussion topic I noticed how divided the views are on trusting the RNG and the fairness of most casinos in general. So I wanted to ask everyone - Do you trust the RNGs and why?

I think that casinos are generally open about their respective house edges.

Remember that online gambling casinos are businesses and they must have a designated house edge in order to have at least a very slight advantage against the users. While this house edge may seem relatively small, statistically, the house will always win. This is the reason on why people who gamble frequently succumb and lose money at the end of the process.

In conclusion, casinos are open about their rates. But if you are indeed lucky and you have won a couple of times which yielded a profit, call it a day and try your best to stop!
652  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quality over Quantity on: September 24, 2023, 08:17:06 PM
Recently I've seen alot of threads where people just jump into writing an incredible episode without putting their readers into consideration.
I'm not a fan of reading very long articles and most times I think some posts ought to be simplified and summarized to get ease of attention and from my observation,  it seems most users confuse quantity with quality and think, writing very long post simply means the post has quality  which is wrong.

I've seen very short and straight to the point post doing extremely  very well on the forum and people ought to them learn from  them.

I do think that the problem with most newbies is that they often associate quantity = quality; which in fact is not always the case.

The more users that make their post longer, the more that readers would get very disinterested in reading their posts (though this is considered in a case-to-case basis). While posts may be long, I do agree with your statement that any thread should be at least concise and straight to the point to avoid any kind of spam or unnecessary information that are irrelevant to the post.
653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin kwoledge is not complete without bitcoin investment on: September 24, 2023, 07:48:27 PM
Some people have all the money,  such people are still not fit to invest in Bitcoin because they don't have the knowledge, either you have the money or not, you have to seek for knowledge first.

That's the main point. This line goes against the thread title, and I am okay with that. I have learned many things out of curiosity. I have learned a little bit of video editing, a little bit of photo editing, CSS, HTML and many more things that I don't do these days. Does it mean my learnings are a waste of time? I don't think so because these things help me personally.

When it comes to Bitcoin, I have to learn first before I invest. The reason is apparent. If I don't learn about Bitcoin and start investing in it slowly but surely, I will be disappointed in Bitcoin when I see the market crashing.

I agree but this also applies to all kinds of investment.

No matter how knowledgeable you are on a certain topic, if you lack the necessary application of using those information and knowledge, then nothing would come into fruition. For example, you may be knowledgeable about all the intrinsic and extrinsic factors affecting the price of BTC and you were also able to accurately forecast its price but if you fail to take any action to take advantage of such knowledge, then nothing would definitely happen.

This is where theories are being used as methodologies in actual experiments. Without actually trying and applying what you have learned, nothing would come out and sprout from the root of all of the knowledge you have learned.
654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: September 24, 2023, 07:19:05 PM
In my opinion making cash from gambling is not a good option and the statistical probability that you will win every game at every casino is very low. I think winning or losing every game is completely in your head, so your individual tricks are not there. However, we all have some kind of luck so we should strive for what is possible for us.

While luck plays a majority and crucial factor in winning games, gambling is not always about luck. There are certain instances where the game mechanics, skills, and techniques may play a vital role in order to gain a slight advantage whenever you attempt to play a single gambling game.

For example, the game of Poker is the game of cards against your opponents. You can employ various strategies that can either give you a winning advantage or a losing position at the end depending on how you would be able to execute it.

While gambling and luck are two things that are often associated with each other, there is still that degree of skill involve that can turn the tides in your favour.
655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling game is not good and everyone should stay away from it on: September 24, 2023, 05:57:34 PM
Everyone stay away from gambling game then you all will be happy and happy Gambling game is very bad which will harm your family a lot and will also harm your life like my father gambling ruined my father's life and also my future is dark now I am now  I came back to this bitcoin to find light in my life in this darkness you all help me shine.

I think this depends on how you view gambling as a whole. Majority of the people who gamble view it as a money-making venture and they end up being disappointed when they see negative results.

If you are someone who wants to profit by gambling, then expect all the negative circumstances as it may end up badly and against you. Sure, you may win/lose but the chances of you losing is higher when you are stuck in the cycle of winning and recovering your losses by gambling.

If you are someone who enjoys the thrill and adrenaline in gambling, then there is a relatively lower chance of you suffering from addiction. As long as you can control your emotions and expenses, you can maintain this habit and avoid overspending and over expenditures.
656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: September 24, 2023, 08:30:14 AM
So there you have it again- Magnus winning the 2023 SCC Title where he defeated Hikaru with a 13.5 vs 12.5 scores respectively.

During their 5+1 match, Carlsen was able to secure a 5-4 score. On their 3+1 match, Hikaru was able to gain a point advantage where they scored 5-4 respectively. Lastly on the bullet section of 1+1, Carlsen was ahead of just one point with a score of 4.5 vs 3.5.

The rivalry between Magnus and Hikaru is just so fun to watch. Given their competitiveness and speed, they are like the perfect rivals of each other.

What are your thoughts on these guys?

657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gives the poor an Opportunity. on: September 23, 2023, 07:55:34 PM
It was developed to be used a micro-payment scheme, however, it evolved so much from it's inception that it become a class asset now. As for the opportunity, I think majority here is just average joe investors, so yeah there is an opportunity.

However, I wouldn't call it like something that will suddenly give the poor money, I mean it's not like a magic bean that will solved everyone's problem. It will still take a lot of effort from anyone, on how to save and accumulate bitcoin overtime before you can see and make profits.

Many have regarded BTC as an instrument that can instantly convert someone from rich to poor. This is a misconception that people should avoid looking. Just like any other of investment, it requires tremendous amounts of patience, knowledge, and skill for your investments to grow.

What makes BTC separate compared to other conventional investment instruments is its potential in terms of its price. If its price skyrockets, then you can gain profit which is relatively faster compared to stocks, etc.
658  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should newbies invest with small capital in BTC on: September 23, 2023, 07:37:29 PM
If really you are a newbie with zero knowledge about Bitcoin and crypto, IMO, I will recommend you start with a little capital and then scale it up as you advance your knowledge about cryptos, you must ensure you understand properly how what you want to invest your hard-earned money works, in order not to have someone to blame at the end, while on the hand, you can start with the amount of money that you are comfortable of losing.

I agree with your statement.

Remember the time when the price of BTC skyrocketed on the last quarter of 2017? Lots of newbies invested without giving it much thought and process. There were even some people who just rode the hype and invested blindly without fully understanding on what caused the price of BTC to skyrocket. Fast forward a few months after, the price of BTC plummeted and majority of these people complained about BTC being a "scam" due to this occurrence.

What lesson can we get from this experience? First, if you are a newbie, make sure to understand on what you are investing on. Second, if you are committed in investing, only invest the amount that you are comfortably losing. Third, do not be greedy; and fourth, make sure to reflect and understand the cause of your profit/loss on your investments.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No KYC vs KYC enabled casinos (Facts you need to know) on: September 23, 2023, 07:13:27 PM
The people have already made their choice, and it's clear they prefer a KYC casino over a non-KYC casino. I believe it's more appropriate to refer to it as 'decentralized gambling' because some casinos claim to be non-KYC but are still regulated. It's important to question the longevity of such claims. When a casino is regulated, it's obligated to adhere to the implementing rules set by regulators, including KYC compliance. So, it's wise not to trust those that claim to be non-KYC casinos.

I do think that for a long-term of an online casino usage, investing you resources in a KYC casino is better than a no-KYC casino. If you plan on just gambling for short-term profits, then better if you focus on a no-KYC casino.

At the end of the day, if you want security, then choose a KYC casino due to the benefits they have. In addition, legal processes can also make it possible for you to sue them should you encounter any problem/issue that the casino blatantly disregard.
660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: September 23, 2023, 06:51:46 PM
Yes, Gambling addiction has strained a lot of relationships through financial instabilities emotional turmoil, social isolation, and family problems. Gambling which was meant to be a popular kind of entertainment for many and was designed to provide a temporary escape from everyday life and also help one to be more observant mentally task your brain and it is also good for your mental brain. When it becomes an addiction it causes financial strain the strain can manifest in various ways including the loss of shared savings, debt accumulation, and financial secrecy which may lead to strained communication between partners. This communication breakdown can prevent couples, friends, and associates from working together.

Gambling is an activity where the results can go either hand. The stake at which people gamble is what drives them insane given the fact that real money is involved in this venture. Sure, a person may feel extremely satisfied and happy if they win a significant amount of money; but the stress and negativity of losing is what makes this habit dangerous compared to any other habits in this world.

The cycle of gambling is a difficult act to remove especially if you are already deep on it. A person may feel obliged to recover their losses by gambling again but this puts them in a worse position in the long run.

I just hope that when people gamble, they have the means of allocating only a designated portion of their income/savings to prevent any over spending on their part.
