1581  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My crypto journey begins today on: October 01, 2022, 01:16:50 PM
I have so many questions in mind concerning crypto and I want to ask if this forum search engine can lead me to some of the questions, is the search engine on the right side of the screen that capable? I am new on here and I need some guidance, hope I am welcomed 🙇 thank you.

I think someone posted already a detailed guide on how to use the search engine on this forum effectively. However, should you find difficulty, then the internet is your best friend. At least almost every thing and information can be searched through various search engines available (e.g. Google, etc.). You can also watch detailed videos on YouTube and/or read books about cryptocurrencies.

There are tons of posts about cryptocurrencies in this forum (hence on why it was created in the first place). If you spend your time browsing through the archives or on the pages, you would find most discussions that have already answered your impending question. Good luck on your journey and may this be the start of your opportunity today, OP.
1582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: That's why I really like bitcoin :) on: September 30, 2022, 11:32:17 PM
~snip~

The features you mentioned in this topic are the features that put Bitcoin in the class of revolution. I also love Bitcoin because of these features, but I love it most because of its portability feature. Nobody knows how much money you have. No one will even know you have money. Just memorize your seed key and feel comfortable. Nobody can read your mind. This is a great feature.

More than the reasons that OP posted, the fact that BTC is the currency under the blockchain speaks about financial freedom- lack of any control from the government on our transactions. This is mainly the reason on why some countries have their reservations on integrating it to their financials, though some countries have started adopting it even as a legal tender to their country.

Personally, BTC is something more of an opportunity; an opportunity that a person living in a third-world country that can alleviate my economic status with the right investment and knowledge on it. While it is not an absolute formula to success, the fact that it can definitely make someone live comfortably is enough for me to love it.
1583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Woman Abandons 4-year-old Child In Gambling Shop As Collateral After Huge Losses on: September 30, 2022, 11:17:45 PM
While some people are looking for children of their own, some others do not value what they have.
My assessment is that this is simply a case of irresponsible parenting and problem gambling. How do you think about this?
This is the height of it, making the innocent child suffer for her own irresponsibility. The child should be taking into government care and such a mother if found should be arrested and taking to rehabilitation. I wonder what her intention was, maybe that the child should be held by the gambling shop to repay the equivalent of the money lost in labor.

This is just not irresponsible parenting but this is the main reason on why she should not have been a parent at all.

She has no regards for human life especially that she can offer her child as a collateral for her own personal need and gain. The fact that she can freely offer, with clear conscience, her own child speaks on how grave her gambling addiction is. I really hope that she will never ever able to retrieve her son after this incident- who knows what the son had suffered while he was staying with his mother during this time.

I hope that the government does something with this incident. The health and welfare of the child is the paramount consideration of the government; the child should be given to a legal guardian and the mother should not have custody or anything whatsoever with him.
1584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you change your mind on gambling ? on: September 30, 2022, 06:03:54 PM
You are a core gambler,I mean you have a reserved or particular time that you use in gambling everyday, just the way some of us are,we even add gambling expenses to our monthly budget because we gamble to entertain ourselves.
A new government came into power, and enacted a law that nobody should gamble anymore in the country i.e gambling becomes illegal. Will you just behave yourself and abide to this new law that is depriving you from having fun as a good citizen ? or will you ignore the law and keep on gambling since there are online casinos that you can gamble secretly with your mobile phones with out no one knowing ?

I will definitely abide the law as it necessarily carries a sanction/penalty if you break it.

Just like any other crime which is punishable under the current laws, they can only be enforced after you break it AND if someone discovers your act. Sure, you can get away with it by using VPNs or by secretly gambling using other accounts but it carries this hanging sword of Damocles where one wrong move could ruin your entire life.

At the end of the day, you just have to weigh if it is really worth to gamble or not. If you feel like that the government will not able to discover your acts, then feel free to do so, but be ready of its consequences.
1585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Parents And Their Children In Gambling.. on: September 27, 2022, 10:13:21 PM
<..snip..>

What do you make out of this story, should we really allow our children to live such a lifestyle like gambling and night clubbing, most especially, when they are still under aged?

Let's discuss about this..

Interesting take on this- I guess that the son of MJ was influenced by the lifestyle of his dad. We all know that MJ is a notoriously big spender in gambling- there is even a rumor that the reason on why his father was killed involved gambling. It is like, it is innate in the nature of MJ that he is very competitive in all aspects of his life, not just in basketball.

Our sons see their father as their role models. There was an article that I read that our children mimic the actions of their parents while growing up. Maybe this influenced Marcus in his gambling spree. Though they are rich, this kind of practice must be corrected and stopped as this can be definitely his downfall in the future.
1586  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mentor experience in crypto trading. on: September 27, 2022, 03:58:51 PM
If you are referring about mentor then i can say that in current situations mentor is not easily accessible because no one will guide you and all of the crypto users are just concerned with cash and spreading wrong information. I just thought usable information by watching videos  and more about it i just catch good results from my crypto friends.

There are a few mentors that seriously offer their services not just for cash; but because they genuinely care about the welfare of your earnings. Unfortunately, the challenge is looking for the right mentor on this space given that anyone can pose as a mentor. I do suggest that if you want to find one, try asking your friends/peers if they know someone so at least someone has vouched it previously.

If you are aiming to look for a mentor online, check their reviews and past projects if they made some success. Be careful, however, as lots of people will pose as crypto experts and mentors, but they only use this as a scam in getting more people to trick them.
1587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Online casino/gambling projects on: September 27, 2022, 03:21:55 PM
There are a lot of sites here for a quite long time and survive for years. Sportsbet, stake, bitcasino, and many more are here for a long time now. Primedice is in the online casino business since 2013 and they are still functioning. You have to find out this casino in the Gambling section. Also, you should move the thread in the gambling discussion if you want to get more valuable answers as the place has a lot of old gamblers. Check the lower side of this topic to0 move it.

That is true- do you know what the common denominator of these gambling websites have? All of them have a designated and active customer support service that caters to the needs of the problems of gamblers online.

In order to attract and maintain a loyal player base, your online gambling website should have at least an active customer support service that relatively replies quickly to the problems along the way. By establishing a trust among your users, they will remain loyal to your website thus attracting more users in the process.
1588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invitation to teach Bitcoin in a school on: September 27, 2022, 02:54:09 PM
It’s essential one for the future generation to learn about the crypto currency. Some schools already included the bitcoin as the one of the subject. So we need to include the technology into our academic. So the new generation will learn huge knowledge about the trading. They will start to trade once they get good knowledge till the academic. It’s essential for the future generation.

Education is the passport towards a brighter future- something that some take for granted. If there is something that cannot be taken away from you, that is your knowledge and character that you learned throughout your journey.

OP, your story really touches my heart. Your current situation does not hinder you from achieving your plans in creating a better tomorrow for those people. Despite the hardships and realities that we currently face, you have a steadfast attitude in order to achieve your goal.

Not only do you contribute in your society, but you also increase awareness in the cryptocurrency space- which makes you an unsung hero in spreading the innovations of cryptocurrency.
1589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen If Bitcoin got stabled ? on: September 27, 2022, 01:52:21 PM
If Bitcoin got stable there will be no huge inflection. This will stable almost all coins. And there will be no huge up and down. All the top coins will not depend on Bitcoin.
Whenever Bitcoin got stabled, All the market will be stable in a result of that.
Question is that how Bitcoin can be stable?  If it got stabled that will happen?

I think this will defeat the purpose on why it was created in the first place- its volatile nature is what makes it unique as an investment tool; and as a currency for exchange under the blockchain. Satoshi visualized this as a form of currency where no third-party can control and regulate its use and price.

In the event that the price of BTC stabllizes due to reasons of control and regulation, expect that its price would significantly decrease and majority of the people would less likely it. It is like using another form of currency which is regulated and NOT free from any financial control from banks and government.
1590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch To Ban Gambling Streaming By October 18th. on: September 26, 2022, 11:58:13 PM
So it's okay if it's US-based casinos... sounds not fair! They seem only to target Crypto casinos and not about protecting youngsters.
That's not a good solution, these streamers can just promote US-based casinos and nothing will change. It will only wipe out Curacao-based casinos lol.
How about Malta-based casinos?
Exactly, If that is the case, there will be no justice here. Moreover, if something is done for the purpose of the youth, then it must be done in such a way that those minors cannot access it. Restricting certain casino sites is not an acceptable rule or decision by them.

Like what I previously mentioned, there is no "middle-ground" when it comes to prohibiting gambling websites in streaming. It is either one party benefitted from the decision and the other party will suffer the loss. In this case, Twitch decided that the welfare of the youth is more essential and paramount compared to the number of gamblers who stream their activities on their platform.

Is this a good move from Twitch? Possibly, but this kind of outcome is expected. Twitch is a gaming platform which was created specifically for streamers to stream their games. It just so happened that gamblers took advantage of this to stream their content of gambling.

Though my only comment here is that, opening crates FROM games is still considered gambling. I wonder how Twitch will respond and view this specific scenario especially that these loot boxes are from these famous games as well (e.g. CSGO boxes, etc.).
1591  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Borrowing money to invest in BTC ( My own past experience) on: September 26, 2022, 11:42:30 PM
First of all, let me congratulate you OP for able to return the loan you borrowed. Very rarely do we see that people return their loans from an investment since the result is always the opposite- most people who borrowed money to invest in cryptocurrency fell short due to the latter's nature.

Good thing that you borrowed a relatively short amount of capital. There are others here who aim to loan large amounts of sum for their returns to double.

While your case may be the living proof that it is possible, the cons outweigh the pros in this case. But as a general rule, if someone were to borrow a loan to invest into cryptocurrency, better have a backup/contingency plan in case your investment incurred a loss in the process.
1592  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Education seems to have failed in some developing country on: September 26, 2022, 05:33:40 PM
It's good to have this notion, but not everyone thinks so especially the 90's and older generations. In developing countries, work is the most sought after career and is even a measure of success for several reasons:
- The influence of parents and the environment
- Education orientation
- Privilege

So that education is believed to be a bridge to work because that is the only thing that is considered successful.

While education does not absolutely guarantee a person of landing a job, it increases the chances of one having so. Even if there may be some people who still is underemployed despite being fully educated, the pros outweighed the cons. Education is still the best guarantee and factor in order for a person to at least have a decent livelihood and welfare to live.

Without any educational background, a person will most likely suffer in this day and age. Job opportunities and education are two (2) different fields, although they are connected. I think this is the time where the government must provide ample opportunities in order to address this problem.
1593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top mistakes of newbies in crypto on: September 26, 2022, 04:23:39 PM
3. unrealistic expectations

Don't get manipulated by profits you see online. 100k profits on a  trading account or a sport car.  you will never achieve that with your $1000 account. understand that and be real with you.
These influencers that are flexing their profits or an individual are showing their profits. But they don't want people to know their losses, I guess a wise person would only believe that person if they're honest with everything which includes the losses.
But, for individuals, it's better not to share any details of what they do especially in profit because they won't know who's trying to catch them personally with those flexing and it could go wrong.

While flexing on a given profit may seem unrealistic, it is indeed possible to reach those numbers BUT it requires tons of experience, luck, and capital in order to achieve this. I agree with you- people who brag about earning $100k+ profits can be very deceiving especially if you consider the overall factors. Unfortunately, those people aim for clickbait titles in order to garner views which they may capitalize on.

Again, cryptocurrencies are "investments" which means that there is no easy way to profit. If there exists such a way, then everyone would have been rich by now.
1594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch gambling problem and Sliker issue on: September 26, 2022, 01:45:04 PM
I'm not sure about the terms and conditions of the Twitch. Based on that it is quite an easy thing for the Twitch team to stop users from creating and broadcasting their contents. For now gambling is getting popular around and Twitch got importance for its scheduled streaming and different giveaways. As one of the user stated, people will move towards other forms of streaming opportunities.

I think everything depends on the TOS of Twitch, like you mentioned. If they prohibit any form of solicitation whether express or implied, then they can rule that this Twitch streamer violated their TOS. Given the widespread of online gambling among the youth, I do expect that Twitch will soon amend their TOS or implement it more strictly this time.

It is really a fine line between a violation or a loophole. I hope that Twitch creates or releases a statement from prohibiting "express" forms of gambling since they cannot totally remove and prohibit crate unboxing from their platform.
1595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My worst day in gambling on: September 26, 2022, 12:12:04 PM
Anyone who gambles experiences deep valleys and large peaks. You can't gamble and just have fun and win a lot of money. You have to be prepared that you will lose a lot of money, and think in advance what you want to do. Try to use some kind of management with your bank role, and certainly not play with large amounts. Play with money like you've actually already lost it so that it's really just for fun. In the long run, making rational decisions is no longer possible if you want to win back your lost money. It would be better not to start at all to prevent problems. Or don't play online and only take cash to a casino for entertainment.

I definitely agree with your statement.

That is the problem when you are dealing with something that is highly risky- there can be no absolute result as you may either win or lose without any given notice. Gambling can be beneficial when you win; but it can also be potentially destructive at the same time if you fail to control your habits as this will result to spending tons of cash in the process.

While today may be your worst day in gambling, look at the brighter picture and learn from this experience. Should you try to recover your losses by gambling again? I do not think so- but at least you gained something invaluable which is the experience and learnings from this unfortunate event.
1596  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fundamental or Technical Analyst. Which one are you? on: September 25, 2022, 11:58:10 PM
I am logical thinker.  Cheesy I have stopped with those long ago with bitcoin and few of the Altcoins that I own. I am very much aware and used to guide everyone that fundamentals and technical analysis are the best instruments to understand and work on before investing your money. However, with the time things are way complicated with crypto currencies. For example, they are getting way more volatile as compared to previous year and to the previous year of that. So it’s kind of weird whenever we do those analysis they are not turning out 100% exact. Now I know that none of them always do but they don’t even keep us away from the alarming losses. So it’s better think logically, Check the math and invest.
you have a simple but reasonable thought. that's true because currently using technical and fundamental analysis is also more often deceived by market charts.
this may have more of an effect on short-term trading and investment. the analyzes carried out seem to have begun to experience a shift and are not by the previous one.
I might follow your thoughts  Cheesy

Technical and fundamental analysis are those methods that significantly work in stocks since you have actual data to work on. With the data that you have, you can at least relatively predict when will be the next dip or rise on the price of a stock in order to maximize your profit.

Though that may be the case, it is a different playing field when it comes to cryptocurrencies. For one, the trading for crypto happens every minute, unlike in stocks, there are only designated times where you can purchase/sell. With the higher volatility, it can also be difficult to predict and forecast its next rise.

Stick with your gut and be knowledgeable about current events as they are definitely helpful in knowing at least the price of BTC in the market.
1597  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why it's so hard to rank-up? on: September 25, 2022, 11:44:27 PM
When you are well-versed in blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, ranking higher is not that difficult. You will be rewarded with many merits if you know how to assist others in this forum and how to share crucial updates. Learn first, then inform other forum users of what you have learned. Its as simple as that.

Well, this is indeed a factor that can cause someone to rank-up faster than the others but that is not the sole criterion on why people rank-up.

Personally, I started joining this forum without even knowing anything, let alone, about all the nature of cryptocurrencies. It took me a couple of years in order to at least touch the surface and understand its fundamentals; and it took lots of effort on my end to achieve it. But, a person may rank-up even without being "that" knowledgeable about the topic.

It really goes a long way if a person replies in a thread in a coherent, smart, and orderly manner. The way they evoke their thoughts and share their insights has this impact that can garner you merits as long as you stay on the topic.
1598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i get banned for Card Counting in online casinos? on: September 25, 2022, 05:04:27 PM
I seriously doubt that the gambling establishment would ban/prohibit card counting.

These types of games are created in order to combat any possible threat of having an advantage on your side. Card counting is something that is natural for a person to do- creating advantages out of difficult situations. In addition, card counting most likely will not have such an effect compared to other techniques used that is why I seriously doubt that the online gambling website would take it against you.
1599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Things to keep in mind before accumulation of Bitcoin on: September 25, 2022, 04:45:48 PM
3: Do not freak out:

One of the biggest benefit of long term investment is you don’t have to check market again and again. Thus you will face no tension. But to do that you have to build patience in yourself. Which you can do by not becoming a prey of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out).
I'm sure this will be difficult for most new investors especially for those who are new to investing. Panic is normal when the price drops 10%-15% in less than 24 hours, but when a trader or investor ignores these fluctuations and chooses to hold on and believe in another potential in the future then they have become a strong hand.

Don't panic, it's much easier said than realized in day-to-day or short-term trading practice. I agree that if one can avoid panicking when the price drops [in particular bitcoin] then they will have no regrets in the long run if the bounce occurs in a relatively quick timeframe.

OP, by the way you could also consider moving this thread to a trading discussion board instead of a bitcoin discussion board.

I agree.

I have a lot of friends who have a wrong understanding about Bitcoin. They always thought that once they invest in it, it will always give them profits, so the ending is that they are always disappointed and losing hope already. Most of the people who invested in Bitcoin because of the hype of cryptocurrency since the pandemic started has this kind of mindset, they are the panic sellers, and they are the ones that thought they could earn a lot of money like other crypto enthusiast by just simply investing their fiat on a volatile cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin is not for those who are such investors. They fear the volatility of Bitcoin. Moreover, they unknowingly invested during the Bitcoin hype and panicked whenever its price started to fall. Many have sold again at a loss. Those investors need to acquire enough knowledge about the importance of Bitcoin, its uses and how to hold it. But knowingly or not, there is no harm in investing in Bitcoin if they are able to wait until it gets expected ATH. Because Bitcoin is the only who is always able to break the previous ATH in bull market.

Unfortunately, BTC has been portrayed by the media as something that can ruin one's life due to its volatility. This kind of opinion was given by most people who unfortunately invested into cryptocurrency without even knowing what they are investing on.

Back in 2017, the price of 1 BTC was around $4,000 and in 2018, it reached an ATH of $19,000. Unfortunately, that was also the time that most and majority of the people invested and after a few months, its price crashed. For the people who blindly invested into BTC without even knowing, they are also the ones who spread news about it being a scam.
1600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHEN WAS YOUR WORST MOMENT AND CHALLENGE WITH BITCOIN ? on: September 25, 2022, 04:14:36 PM
I believe everyone here onboard this platform once had a very  though and challenging moment with bitcoin at the initial start. At first it seems unrealistic then looks like a scam but at last it was a real deal. sharing our experiences and worst moment might just help others build on and also bring us back to the very first beginning of our journey into bitcoin then. This would also help us evaluate how far we have gone and also creates room for more on-boarding of more adopters. Sharing our experiences on how we started would also encourage more to be steadfast  in the system. This would go a long way in helping others at the verge of giving up on bitcoin.

How was your worst moment and experience like and how were you able to handle it then ?

As someone who is fortunate enough to have experienced this forum back in 2017, I had my fair share of ups and downs. Mostly, it was due to the natural volatility of the price of BTC especially back in the first quarter of 2018 when its price reached an ATH of around $19,000. But one those worst moments was when I invested in a ponzi-scheme (where I had no idea that it was a ponzi scheme) and I got scammed around $200 worth of BTC (probably worth more now compared before).

Though that may be the case, I quickly got to my feet and continued my passion in exploring this innovative world. Eventually, the lost BTC was never recovered but it taught me something that cannot be bought by money- which is experience.
