Morning all, @Darkstar_ - I've just received word that the crazy margins you spotted were indeed a bug that somehow occurred when we were pulling the odds from our provider, our teams are working to rollout a fix to solve the problem going forward - thanks for the heads up! @TokenKev - Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your winnings! Have a great day! Ronnie @ Cloudbet

Afternoon all, Cloudbet recently managed to secure an article with Eric Voskuil to get his opinions on the future of bitcoin - Resist or Die: How to Secure Blockchain's FutureWe got some really positive responses, and now want to build this into a series of interviews with other crypto thought leaders on different topics that they are passionate about. Our writers are currently compiling a list of targets to approach for the next interviews, and would love to know who your favourite crypto thought leaders are! Chances are we won't be getting a response from the big dogs like Vitalik and McAfee (although the latter would be particularly entertaining!) but if you have anyone you'd like to read more about, please let us know below and we'll try our best to 'make it so'. Thanks, have a great day! Ronnie @ Cloudbet

Afternoon all,
Hope you’ve had a good week! I’ve tried to update outstanding issues where I can:
@Angry0ne - I’m sorry but I’m still waiting for an update on your account. I’ll keep pushing for a response.
@JollyGood - Our Product Team are looking at the issues you raised. I’ll update as soon as I have a concrete response.
@Teteczv - Unfortunately your account is still under investigation and I haven’t received any updates about the progress, but I’ll keep chasing and let you know any results ASAP.
I can also assure you that we aren’t “preparing to disappear from online space stealing as much money as possible.” we are one of the oldest crypto casino and sportsbooks and will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary.
@BitGame777 - Unfortunately I’m not able to share information about our odds providers, but as mentioned by @DarkStar we do have an API you can access to pull data.
@DarkStar_ - Thanks for getting in touch, I’ve just sent a message to our sportsbook teams to query the margins.
Thanks very much,
Ronnie @ Cloudbet

We are actually tracking the amount of times bitcoin has 'died' in the mainstream media since 2011 at the Cloudbet blog: Bitcoin is dead I enjoy posting it in the comments section of articles making the claim

@d5000 Thats a really interesting idea that I haven't seen before, it seems like a pretty reasonable way to reduce the chances of a single node taking full control of the network.
Do you know of any projects that have deployed (or are planning to deploy) this design? I’d love to do some further reading!
One point that’s been brought up in regards to PoS is the idea that the ‘controlling stake’ wouldn’t be as desirable, as the value lies with the other participants in the chain having trust in the system - if someone gained a controlling stake and started to act against the best interests of the chain, and given the countless offerings in crypto today, people might just decide to move elsewhere, effectively de-valuing the stake held by the ‘controller’.
I'm still not completely convinced and am leaning towards PoW if the vulnerabilities of PoS can't be solved in my personal opinion (not speaking for Cloudbet or any other employees).
Thanks,
Ronnie @ Cloudbet

Just posted in the other PoS v PoW discussion but thought I'd share here too We just ran an interview with Eric Voskuil to gauge his thoughts on the future of bitcoin (Resist or Die: How to Secure Blockchain's Future)"PoW is neither unfair, unsustainable, nor unviable, [it] is a necessary aspect of securing any Bitcoin design. Internal systems (i.e. Proof of Stake) cannot be censorship resistant. Once the censor has controlling stake (which cannot be prevented) there is no way to unseat it.” What do you think? We just ran an interview with Eric Voskuil to gauge his thoughts on the future of bitcoin: Resist or Die: How to Secure Blockchain's FutureHe had some strong opinions about PoS vs PoW: "PoW is neither unfair, unsustainable, nor unviable, [it] is a necessary aspect of securing any Bitcoin design. Internal systems (i.e. Proof of Stake) cannot be censorship resistant. Once the censor has controlling stake (which cannot be prevented) there is no way to unseat it.” Do you think that rings true? I'll admit from a personal standpoint the idea of an unknown gaining a controlling stake makes me a bit nervous. Ronnie @ Cloudbet

@Angry0ne That's really odd, I've just tried to view the live sportsbook both logged in and not, and all the offers appear the same. Are you still missing some sports/lines?
I'll report your feedback to our teams so they can investigate and I'll relay any info back to you. I'm wondering if the lines were refreshing or something at the time when you logged in, but my tech knowledge is pretty woeful so it's just a guess at this point.
If you could also please DM me your Cloudbet nickname I'll double check there isn't any weird settings applied to your account that would block anything.
Thanks,
Ronnie @ Cloudbet

If you're a high roller, there's still probably no singular book that's good for you. For example, BetKing takes 2 BTC bets on some soccer events no problem, but they won't let me place 0.07 BTC on an NFL outcome. If you care about limits for all sports, Nitrogen is likely your best bet.
We have had some of the highest limits for a while now, for example we were offering 100 BTC limits during the world cup! Obviously it varies based on the sport, specific line, the time left till the event, etc, but for most main markets I like to think we are up there with the asian bookmakers and Pinnacle. Thanks very much for the feedback guys and gals, I'll change the top prizes to physical items like tablets and ledgers, but with the option to choose the value in BTC or BCH instead if preferred.
When I was working out the prize table I quickly realised that being able to double your points by backing your bet would break things, so i've changed the plan to have the 'back your bet' bonus add +6 points to your weekly score instead - let me know your thoughts.
The only other issue I've run into is the Champions League and Europa League games being played mid-week, as it messes with the Mon-Fri time period for competition entry. Still debating what to do about that one, maybe replace some of the selected leagues with UEFA Nations League or other international friendlies.
Thanks,
Ronnie @ Cloudbet

In other news, I'm currently planning a new Predictor competition for Super 6 soccer leagues, so if you took part in the last competition I'd really appreciate you sharing your opinion on the proposed new format and prize pool! We have also just posted an interview we managed to secure with Eric Voskuil to gauge his thoughts on the future of bitcoin - Resist or Die: How to Secure Blockchain's FutureSome of you might already know Eric from his work with Libbitcoin, but for those that don't, he's a self described anarcho-capitalist and cypherpunk that is well known in the crypto community for his strong opinions on tokenisation, blockchain network security, and crypto's place in the future of global economics. In this interview Eric discusses adoption, cryptoeconomics, decentralisation, and consensus mechanisms, and we'd love to hear your take! Ronnie @ cloudbet

Hi all,
Apologies for the lack of responses, It's been a rather busy week!
@Mirae Thanks for the update, really glad to hear the payment was processed and you are back to instant withdrawals!
@JollyGood The internal discussion about cookies and T&C requirements has gone up the chain and various options are being weighed up between the devs on Jira. As soon as there is some consensus I'll let you know the details.
@4x4et We don't use 'shill' accounts, it's a stupid practice that will almost always come back to bite the perpetrators in the long run.
Thanks very much, have a great day!
Ronnie @ Cloudbet

“no evidence that there is a meaningful scenario other than money. Bitcoin as a useful innovation is money. There is nothing interesting in tokenization, it’s a shockingly naive idea. “[bitcoin] will not become a dominant force in ‘mainstream economics’ because that implies white market operation and therefore the lack of desire by the state to tax through currency. Possible, but unlikely.” - Eric Voskuil Recently Cloudbet managed to secure an interview with Eric Voskuil to gauge his thoughts on the future of bitcoin: Resist or Die: How to Secure Blockchain's FutureSome of you might already know Eric from his work with Libbitcoin, but for those that don't, he's a self described anarcho-capitalist and cypherpunk that is well known in the crypto community for his strong opinions on bitcoin, blockchain network security, and crypto's place in the future of global economics. Morning all! I'm currently putting plans together for the next predictor competition, and since you were all involved in the last one I wanted to ask your opinions on the proposed new format: Super 6 Soccer Predictor (Work in progress) - Competition runs for 10 weeks - 6 games per week - Games picked from 6 competitions: EPL, LaLiga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Champion's League, and Europa League - 3 points for exact score prediction, 1 point for correct result (win/lose/draw) - Weekly points prize table - BTC currency prizes for top place finishers overall - 'Back your bet': Place a multi bet on your predictions and post your Bet ID to double your weekly points score Not sure about that last point, so I'd like to get your opinion on that especially. Cards on the table - I'm obviously trying to find a way to incentivise placing bets with us (I mean, it's part of my job after all!) and it also allows me to push for a bigger prize pool if some of the budget will be recouped through bets placed. At the same time as a gamer I'm concerned about 'pay to win' and don't want to allow someone to double their points every week to grab a cheap win without showing off their prediction skills - could place a limit on the amount of times your points can be boosted over 10 weeks? While on the subject of prizes - a few of the free spin bundles that people won last time went unclaimed, are there other kinds of casino bonuses you would prefer to play for? Or are physical prizes like Nano ledgers, tablets, etc more of a draw? Thanks, looking forward to your feedback! Ronnie @ Cloudbet

Morning all, I'm still working to get some answers regarding cookies for the people waiting, in the meantime I thought I'd share something a bit different... We've just set up a Cloudbet Youtube account! Our first video is a quick and easy guide on how to deposit funds in your Cloudbet account: Bitcoin Gambling - How To Deposit Bitcoin Into Your Cloudbet AccountWe would really like to get your feedback on the video format, layout, graphics, etc. We are just getting started with this and want to focus on content that appeals to our players. Most importantly, if there's any other video guides you'd like to see (casino game tips, info on various sportsbook lines, etc) then please let me know and I'll pass on the request. Thanks very much, have a great day! Ronnie @ Cloudbet
