981  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where the mixers will promote their projects? on: December 06, 2023, 05:41:13 PM
I have launched a mixer directory site

How can you say that sinbad currently has ACTIVE status when both of their website domains are seized and service is shut down?
Even if they start service again I doubt they are going to use the same name, like they previously changed the name from blender.
I think that even their telegram channel is gone.

982  Economy / Reputation / Re: DT network visualization chart on: December 06, 2023, 05:23:53 PM
after 2 months, I updated the DT network visualization chart.

There were a lot of DT changes
Can someone find LoyceV here?
I thought his bubble is going to be one of the bigger, ones but I can't find him anywhere.
@bitmover It would be interesting if you could make one chart like this but for distrust, let's call it DT distrust network chart Wink

983  Economy / Reputation / Re: For how much money heroes and legends are willing to advertise fraud and scam? on: December 06, 2023, 05:15:18 PM
Governments are generally cracking down on mixers, that does not mean they are a scam.
Everything governments say it's illegal or scam must be bad, right?  Right??
So let's say if one day government say that Bitcoin is illegal, or walking in the street is illegal and not safe, or using cash is bad and spread disease, you will have to think for yourself before accepting this.
First they introduce concept of ''dirty'' and ''clean'' bitcoins, people accept it, and than circus show is ready to start.
You can use this formula for anything else, just replace word 'bitcoin'' with something else.
984  Other / Meta / Re: Sanctioned Services and the service traceability to this forum, Any danger? on: December 06, 2023, 04:59:51 PM
It could be. If the bad guys were in charge of Sinbad, that explains why they were quickly trusted enough to send them millions of dollars worth of Bitcoin. Pretty much anything can be used for good or evil, but starting a business for evil is very different than a legitimate business being abused.
Didn't google started with motto Don't be evil, and they later removed it for unknown reasons, so I guess they are now allowed to be evil  Tongue
We could also argue that banks and whole military industrial complex started with evil intentions, yet I don't see many people talking about that, because government is behind them.
I have to say that it's very convenient when you have invisible hackers and terrorists to blame them for everything.
985  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: SATOCHIP Bitcointalk Limited Edition HW cards! on: December 05, 2023, 07:02:20 PM
It's IMPOSSIBLE to use this method for Latin America. Eg: Brazil require some specific papers to import electronics goods. Peru is a nightmare if you don't use tracking services etc...
Kinda same reasons for Africa or some specific countries in Asia. Unfortunately, we do not live in a perfect world.
I didn't know that South America has such a big problems with delivery, even for envelopes, but I did hear about bad postal service in Spain.

I hope this is more clear and again, sorry for the confusion.
Thank you for clarification Tibu!

It would be better if SATOCHIP issued customized cards with these Bitcointalk profiles (which the buyer will choose and indicate), instead of Satochi (as in the picture). When they send out cards by mail, SATOCHIP will know at what address each forum user lives. Great idea to collect a base and lose/steal it to hackers. Cheesy
I don't know who this Satochi guy is, and your ironical comment makes no sense, but I can arrange for special card with your profile name to be created and sent to random user for ''doxing'' purposes.
Since it was possible to purchase this cards directly through website, nobody would know what your forum account was, unless you want to reveal it here.

It doesn’t matter what design is on these cards, what’s important is what’s inside.
Well I guess we have new marketing genius who thinks that designs is not important in life, and I guess you walk the street in dirty old bag  Cheesy

986  Other / Archival / Re: 📌 [banned mixer] - Maximum Anonymity 🤖 Fees 1 - 5% on: December 05, 2023, 06:14:44 PM
It turns out that even bitcoins coming from an exchange can be flagged as dirty. Yesterday, my wife sent bitcoins from her account on kraken.com to my account on bitpapa.com. My Bitpapa account was blocked
Nothing strange there, this can always happen on most centralized services and exchanges.
There are many reports of customers account getting frozen without explanation, and they can make up any story about this.
Even the tools they are using to say if specific bitcoin is ''clean'' or not is full of flaws and it was never known to be accurate.
You are lucky that coins will be returned to sender's wallet address.
987  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Android] Seedcake App Open-Source Bitcoin Seed Storage on: December 05, 2023, 05:49:50 PM
Thank you for your time! I look forward to the community's input and support in making Seedcake a valuable tool for those seeking a digital solution for seed phrase storage.
What is the difference between using Seedcake and any other wallet apps that also stores seed phrases?
For example I can use old smartphone, install any open source wallet app, disable any connection to internet, and use it like cold storage.
Advantage compared with Seedacake is that I can use this app booth for storing keys (that I can later export), and as wallet for making offline transations.
It makes much more sense that using phone only as backup device.

988  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: I forgot my passphrase for Coldlar hardware wallet??please help me。 on: December 05, 2023, 04:59:15 PM
Mnemonic phrase...
Do not post your seed phrase and passphrase is public ever again, and better edit and delete what you wrote asap!

I know Coldlar wallet is closed source crap, but in most cases users are to be blamed for forgetting passphrase, not manufacturer of device.

989  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is Samsung blockchain wallet safe? on: December 05, 2023, 04:52:42 PM
What do you Mean? I downloaded it from galaxy store and it is introduced in samsung's official website too.
So what if something is official?
You asked if it is safe, and no hot wallet is safe enough, especially if it's closed source like Samsung wallet.
It is ok if you want to use it as for buying rice and popcorns, but it should not be used for anything serious, especially when there are better open source alternatives.
990  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] [banned mixer] - Premium Mixing | Sig Campaign | Up to $210/W on: December 05, 2023, 08:10:38 AM
Did someone started a new war between managers I am not aware of, or this is just another one of those pissing competitions, and who has the bigger d...?
Chill, we don't need more drama and soap operas in forum.
991  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where the mixers will promote their projects? on: December 04, 2023, 09:24:51 PM
Which site or forum that these centralized mixers will promote their projects? Cheesy
Probably websites with most traffic, but it's their problem to solve.
I speculated that someone will fork bitcointalk forum and move it on different domain, maybe even onion link.
That doesn't mean that anyone should ever use same login details like in bitcointalk forum if that ever happens.

Probably x.com or Facebook, Google ads?
Have you ever seen something like this advertised on google ads?
I almost never see any ads when I browser internet because I use uBlockOrigin and/or DNS blocker, but I saw fake scam mixers being pushed on top of search before.
992  Economy / Exchanges / Re: eXch - instant exchange BTC / LN / XMR / LTC / ETH / ERC20 on: December 04, 2023, 09:02:17 PM
We are planning to start a new topic in the Exchanges section (since we are a cryptocurrency exchange by a definition) by the end of this month using that brand new account.
Good decision to start fresh, and best to lock this topic when you make the final transition.
My suggestion is to create new account without any extension, just make eXch or eXch_exchange if any of this user names are available.

PS
Can you tell me more about eXch mobile app?
I saw that it's open source and available on Fdroid, but I am not sue how safe it is, since it's community made project.

993  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] kycnot.me | Open-source list of non-kyc services on: December 04, 2023, 08:14:45 PM
At your landing page[1], at the bottom, there are links to TOR, I2P, Mastodon, Nostr. At the About page [2], there is information for social media with some social media accounts but I see one is missing.
I don't think their official onion link is working correctly right now, at least not for me.
First I thought there was something wrong with my Tor browsers, so I tried the same link in Brave-Tor browser with same results.
I can't find anything on their gitlab page, so maybe they shut it down.

994  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: December 04, 2023, 07:53:29 PM
In addition, some things on the Jambler website will be changed (probably the names of the partners will remain, but the Tor links will be removed).
Can you tell us why are Tor links going to be a problem?
I hope that doesn't mean that Bitcointalk forum is not going to allow any Tor links anymore, but I wouldn't be surprised if that happens at some point.
I can't wait to see what happens in 2024, my popcorns are ready and I already see who is going to be the new forum antihero Cheesy
995  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 04, 2023, 07:25:46 PM
The whole idea is wrong and leads to the marginalization of the Bitcointalk community. It is almost certainly leading the forum towards the introduction of KYC and is sliding to become a training ground for Gambling and NFT discussions.
I was thinking exactly the same thing, why else would theymos even mention KYC in the first place with new rules, it's like preprograming to later accept this change easier.
However, it's not like I would do much better if I was in his shoes, there was obvious danger of someone seizing and shutting down bitcointalk if we continued business like usual.

It is even possible to register on Google without KYC. It's a bit unbelievable to me that this is a theymos statement.  Huh
Yeah but I think not for long.
They are already making big changes with fighting ad blockers and verification is surely one of their wet dreams, since they already have Gpay.

It's a bit like if the TalkGold forum banned advertising banking services Cheesy
And not allowing member to talk about them like they used to.
I am sure members are going to adapt with time, at least for few more years, as long as overlords allow us to exist, own something and be happy.

I think the biggest issue is probably the worry about people being banned for merely mentioning a mixer but you have to be careful about creating loopholes for those that wish to promote them here and people can and will be sneaky about trying to skirt any restrictions.
I thought the whole point is that bitcointalk forum is officially not supporting mixer ads anymore, and I can understand that, but I never saw mods being so zealous about real scams.

I don't share this fear. KYC would leave only spammers with bought identities on Bitcointalk, all good users will abandon it.
I can agree on that and I would do that, but question is how many good members we have in forum...
I think big majority would easily perform verification for few milli-bitcoins.

997  Other / Meta / Re: Extensions on firefox with Smart phones [Guide] on: December 04, 2023, 06:38:29 PM
this is a developer version of Mozilla Firefox which is more  open sourced than the regular Firefox browser there by giving you less restrictions than in the regular version of which one of them is being able to customize your addons.
Firefox Niightly version is not more open source than regular firefox browser, and you are getting more chances of having much more bugs and unstable behavior, this is like test version.
You are also going to get updates more often and that can get annoying sometimes, so I would just stick with regular Firefox browser instead, or at least disable automatic updates.
998  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] [banned mixer] - Premium Mixing | Sig Campaign | Up to $210/W on: December 04, 2023, 04:03:11 PM
[banned mixer] raised their payrate to 10 USD until end of campaign. Finally beating the payrate of CM.
Any news from MixTum? Asking for a friend.
Shocked
Race for highest paying campaign in forum has never been more interesting, but let's see what happens after January 1st.
Maybe mix-campaigns like this will continue on forked bitcointalk forum even after this date (unofficial speculation) Wink
999  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: December 03, 2023, 06:26:46 PM
1000  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 03, 2023, 06:19:54 PM
Must we start to worry in what other ways pressure may be applied on Bitcointalk and its operators?
It's better to prepare and work on alternative solutions than to worry about this.
There is nothing we can do since identity of bitcointalk owner is known publicly, and servers are located in his country.
I can understand theymos from this position, it was probably not an easy decision to make, but he just opened big can of worms and pandora box  Tongue
On positive side, there will be a lot of space open for new and old campaigns to hire good quality members, so it's not the end of the world (yet).
