I'll go poke around a bit, but maybe somebody here knows: How many A3222's are on each board of the existing Avalon 4.1 miner? That miner as I recall has 2 boards, of N chips each, right? Any body know what N is? 40 chips across 2 planes of 5 modular segments each, so 20/plane | 4/segment.

Any body know what N is? 40 chips across 2 planes of 5 modular segments each, so 20/plane | 4/segment. so the 40 chip running at 800 gh does about .53 watts per gh or 425 watts the 5 chip running at 100gh pulls 53 watts maybe and it could go a little lower maybe. 100gh burning 53 watts as a solo miner cost about 38kwatts a month so at 10 cents = 3.80 usd a month at 15 cents = 5.70 usd a month at 20 cents = 7.60 usd a month at a low price due to low shipping cost this would make a nice lottery item. I could buy 50 and sell them here next to my cost.

So this is roughly an "Avalon based Rbox" with much better power consumption figures. So the real big unknown then is it's price. What I saw from the PDF's suggest it's a straight 12V power input, probably a single PCIe connector.
An interesting development. I just hope it doesn't follow the Avalon 4.1 pricing model.

It will definitely beat Rbox on efficiency. And giving their Avalon 4.1's I'm expecting very quiet to near silent operations. Will be interesting to see what they come out with.

I use to run my Rboxes behind my monitors at work until the fans quit on me, and I worried about new ones possibly faulting starting a fire. I imagine these will be much more rigid, and more efficient. If priced right I will definitely get in on some.

Any links or info. I certainly would love to get a few. I would do a long thread. I did look at the wiki and can not see anything new.

I'm half hoping they'll get listed at the official store at some point - though right now that's having issues. In the wiki you can click on View History in the top, and then compare revisions to see what's actually changed. tl;dr: how to firmware upgrade instructions+pic for which pins on the controller to short for the process.

I hope to see it soon.

I wouldn't mind seeing a 500 Gh/s 4.1 clone doing < 200 watts(highly doubtful to see this), along with a "mini" miner. Edit: & it's up. 78 gh/s 32.4 w

Middle config doesn't seem to make much sense: Chip frequency | Core voltage | Gh/s | Wall power* | J/Gh | 275:250:200 | 0.650 | 78 | 32.4 | 0.415 | 200:200:200 | 0.650 | 61 | 26.4 | 0.433 | 100:100:100 | 0.625 | 30.5 | 12 | 0.393 | ( * Power conversion efficiency of 90% when measured )As for being able to buy one - just keep an eye on the page

The chip is the same as in the Avalon 4.1 Im wondering if we will be able to overclock it to get near 20 gh per chip?

I wonder if these will run off the same rasp pi image as the 4.1 did. I already have a sdcard and a rasp pi for that. I also emailed regarding prices for resale and review samples. I am awaiting an answer.

Heads-up: Canaan Creative have a completely revamped website presence. As part of this change, Canaan Creative will be shutting down their forums at http://bbs.canaan-creative.com/ on September 26th, 2015. If you have any posts, files, etc. there that you would like to keep, please be sure to archive them when you can (connectivity to the forum is spotty at best). While I think it's a shame they're shutting it down (instead of just making it read-only and unlisted), at least they are announcing this well ahead of time, which is more than I can say for KnC, BFL and others.
Does anyone know if I can get the 4.1 to run off windows 7 with cgminer? I don't see why not, but hopefully philipma1957 can say for sure.

Thanks for sharing that. I have been wondering what is going on over at Avalon when our 4.1 group buy was never able to work out. Then they put up the info of the mini, but never put a price tag on it. I like what they put together, but the lack of information on developments, and seeming to always be priced much higher than the competition confuses me.
