The difference between Bar, myself and say Avenger is that we're real customers and we're expecting reasonable outcomes.

In this forum, where every participant is free to express their feelings in accordance with the subject discussed, the only difference between you and Avenger is the username. Do not really matter if he is a real KnCminer customers or not, he is free to express his opinion as much as you are. Put him in an ignore list will not change the facts.

Everyone is free to express their opinion, yes. My opinion on the matter is that Avenger is a troll who is lying about being a customer and is therefore wasting all of our time. There are enough legitimate customers with negative opinions of KNC - why would we need to bother with the dubious ones? Step away from the dark side, Croppo - it just makes your ignore button glow even brighter.

Roll Eyes

Ignore list blackmail to force a forum participant to reveal confidential information...

The "fuck you got mine" crowd is achieving a new level of vileness.

Priceless!

Dude...he can just mail it to customer support and have O'rama confirm that he's a customer. There's no need for him to post an order number directly.

LOL, I have spent nearly 2 weeks playing ping pong with customer service trying to get RMA. The worst aspect for me is I have to send it back from Australia 4-5 days transit and then back, 8-10 days lost mining.

I hear you. I did get a relatively quick RMA but it took a week. I find that support emails are not replied to quickly and consistently and that it takes multiple phone calls to get things done - these are items that KNC can work on. It would also help to have advance shipment of RMAs. I'm on your side on both of these issues.

"We"?  Now your personal opinion represents all other forum participants opinions?

 Grin

I wonder how can a forum participant opinion "waste" your time when you have what you already paid for...

Regarding my "ignore button glow"... Who really cares about that? It is just some bytes of useless information in a vast universe of data. Such tiny detail means nothing in the big picture of the "dark side" I am.

By the way, if Lady Justice is blind, I am glad to be in the "dark side" with her.

From where the destination address come from? How it ended in your OS clipboard? To recover the funds sent you need to know who controls the destination address. Then you will have to contact the person and ask back the funds.

No replies same question.

I did try everything that was posted anywhere:
1 - Try 1 board at a time
2 - Increase temps inside
3 - Flash all firmwares + enablecores

And I am yet to get an answer from KNC if the problem is of pure hardware nature or it can be fixed by a new firmware. And I need to know that so I can decide if and when to RMA.

Btw I don't expect to get any resolution here. I'm just using this space to vent my frustration and dissatisfaction with KNC.
I've tried my best to be reasonable over the phone and was practically begging the guy to step in my shoes for a while and realize that sending the boards back is adding insult to injury with the 2 weeks delay I had.
I know they can organize an advanced RMA - it's not rocket science. They just don't want to for reasons, which are not genuine.

Agree with Augusto, unfortunately you are screwed unless you can contact the recipient of the coins and convince them to return them to you.

Man this forum is full of BS. If you take out all the bullshit, it probably would be only 100 pages. Then I hear someone sent someone BTC to the wrong address. How is that even possible? A BTC address is so unique you have to not paying attention big time to make a mistake like that.

I'm not real sure of this, but it's my understanding that you can send a message through the blockchain to a specific address. You could try doing that to the addy you accidentally sent it to. Aside from that, you are at the mercy of the recipient. Hopefully they are honest. If they are, I'd let 'em keep a piece of it were it me.

Has anyone encountered the following problem:

Jupiter hashing away happily on 0.98 getting a very stable 560GH/s at the pool with case on and all fans on (i.e. as it was designed - temps stable between 60-70)

Then suddenly, after 6 days i found it had stopped hashing (luckily i caught it after two hours only).

I rebooted via the web portal

No other changes at all.

Now hashing at ~515GH/s after 24 hours, everything else exactly unchanged.

Very strange. Any ideas guys? how can i get back to where i was in terms of hashrate?

Tip on offer for a fix Smiley

EDIT: I forgot to add that after 24 hours I did a full power cycle i.e. switched off at the PSU for 5 mins then switched back on, then in the web portal i rebooted it just for good measure. Still at 515GH/s at the pool after another 10 hours....
Just run enablecores, and reboot
I suggest using 0.98.1, or 09.98.1 beta

A quick update Phoenix, in case you're wondering. I flashed to 0.98.1 and no improvement.

BUT

I applied bertmod and it looks like I found the issue:

7   ON   OK   11.7 V   0.765 V   0.438 A

That's one of the cores on one of the chips - looks like the DC/DC is kaput Sad
That would explain the random shutdown of the miner, and the decreased performance since then. I havent had a chance to look inside the box and see if there is anything wrong - il have a look later tonight.

Any ideas what might have caused it? That board was running a little hotter than the others (yes, i checked for plastic under the heatsink - there was none, i also tightened the screws down on the bridge to make sure it was making good contact - i did all that when it first arrived). This board was running at 68 to 70 degrees, the front two were at 60 and the other back board at 67

I dont suppose anyone has a fix?

515GH/s is more than the 400GH/s i paid for, and i think it is also not bad enough to consider the downtime of an RMA (i am in Asia so it would take around 5-8 days given a same day fix by KNC)

Looks like il jut have to suck it up and be thankful for what i have.

Shame ROI looks impossible for me (i received it on 24th Oct and have only mined 7 BTC to date)
