Slush was the first pool I mined on a couple of years ago. I was surprised to see I had mined so much on it:

 17.3981 BTC
All Times Reward

Looked back and was making .50+ BTC a day running those USB ASIC miners...awww those were the days  Cool

So... Chance and luck are different things?

Of course!  The word "chance" has gambling connotations, while the word "luck" is loaded with superstitious undertones :-)  The only difference comes from the perspective of the person you ask.

More semantics than anything of substance. Luck is the lay man's term for probability and has nothing to do with superstition. And chance, well, that's just luck!

Ahh the good old days... lol Smiley.  It really shows just how fast the whole Bitcoin phenomenon has grown.  You want to make 0.5BTC a day mining now, you'd need about 46.5TH/s!

Jonny's Pool - Mine with us and help us grow!  Support a pool that supports Bitcoin, not a hardware manufacturer's pockets!  No SPV cheats.  No empty blocks.

My first miners were 5 Ant U2 sticks... that I've still got running today (on ck.'s solo pool).  Those were almost immediately followed by an S1... and then about a week later another S1... lol.  My very first mining payout was from p2pool almost exactly a year ago.

Semantics or not, some of us prefer to use technically correct terms for things.

Who's stopping you from saying what you prefer, semantically insubstantial though it may be? Just don't expect the rest of us to be in the same boat as you.

Dashboard is down but the miner I use on Slush's has a widely variable fan and is still humming along as though it's mining. I didn't call it's panel up yet to verify but I will if they're out for more than an hour.

One of my miners was down this morning and I still got 1/3 of my payout threshold in a day and I have it set so it should take a week under normal circumstances. Hope that 17hr or so block they had a few days ago was a fluke and this trend continues.

Here is the nice long block.

Kind of odd, when they were under 14 Ph/s they were hitting blocks left and right, above 14 seem to take longer. I seem to recall this when the hash rate would jump over 10 a while back all the blocks would take a while. Dumb coincidence?
