Slush is still mining Version 2 blocks. You have to upgrade ASAP or will be left behind.
For miners of Slush pool, I suggest you move to a pool supporting Version 3 block until Slush is upgraded, or your work may just be wasted.

can anyone confirm this? this seems like a pretty large oversight by the pool... how long has version 3 been out?

I have to say, whatever tweak slush did to get the luck back, he should have done a while ago. If indeed it is switching over to the latest v3 whatever, then it was long overdue! Here's to the luck keeping up doing its thing (block version notwithstanding)!

I've been at V3 since ... 9-May ... a while ... and I thought I was slow to switch over to 0.10.0 (now of course 0.10.1) Slush is still mining Version 2 blocks. You have to upgrade ASAP or will be left behind.
For miners of Slush pool, I suggest you move to a pool supporting Version 3 block until Slush is upgraded, or your work may just be wasted.

Ahh ... it is still v2! Still, slush is usually on the ball so we'll have to assume (for now) that they'll flick over as and when mining v3 becomes mandatory. PS. Did anyone say something? Seems the pool hash spiked a bit in the last half hour or so .... may the luck keep doing its bit!

Well you just wanna hope no one finds a block here after the switch over is required, it will be rejected by the network and worthless if it isn't V3.

Done in time - yes. On the ball - no. Semantics really, but if switching over to v3 is literally that (turning a switch), then he'd have had to do the wiring for the switch beforehand for v3 to turn on when the switch is flicked (I'd say that's being on the ball). That slush switched over in (and on) time is a bonus to faint hearted mining there....

Too little too late imo, been at Antpool since 19th June, tired of the up and downs, this last down was the nail in the coffin for me at Slush. Especially after seeing "Please note our core systems have not been touched in months." This absolutely does not fill me with energy and confidence in regards to Slush. Once again slow to move and upgrade, ultimately it just looks like the Slush management are slow to move everytime and that hurts miners.

Do you prefer someone braking it every day or two? It means the system is stable and doesn't need much attention, which is a good thing IMHO As stated in the email there is a lot of work being done, but probably on a test system and Slush will make it live when its ready and triple-checked, so nothing will be broken on core system

Its not about people breaking it or breaking in, we are talking about months here, genuinely they should have had this in hand. But its all good, its a moot point now, version 3 running, finally they getting multipooling going, hey all good. hope they keep the 12.5petahash

I stayed put through the whole low luck period with a few miners just to see what happened. The rewards almost doubled so the end result was roughly the same. The only thing I was unable to do was time the payout as precisely.

Rewards were doubled but blocks were 0.. I stayed with all my mining force didn't budge at all and theres like 3-4 days with no pay at all and maybe 10 days with 1 block but even at double that's not by any means good pay

I'm probably mis-reading you, but are you saying that Slush's management have been slow to correct the luck - you know that's not going to happen, yes? You know that the reason you're rewards are closer to normal at a big pool is that you're at a big pool and hence less variance? Finally, if you do move to a large pool because of variance then you're doing exactly what other miners did when they moved to GHash.IO because of variance on smaller pools - they increased network centralisation significantly.

Correct me if I'm wrong.. The way i see it slushies have had to eat a loss lately, but since over a large enough sample luck returns to 100%. Therefore we should, with any luck, pun pretended) be making a comeback with crazy bitcoin gains whereas we are made whole.. Or is this something to occur very slowly and unpredictably unsteadily as we forget this month of poverty with like 101% luck for a year?
My knowledge of statistics is weak. I consider it more witchcraft than math.. I was trying tarrot cards on the blockchain but my aura is off due to bad luck.. It ain't math don't lie. Math is sensible
