930 and 950 mclock drops hash speed to under 50mh ,i think it changes mem straps and timings..

I have 2 RX5700, Windows 10, AMD 19.9.1 drivers and Phoenix 4.6b... I don't know how people are getting them to run at 100W, I can't get it to run reliably even at 130W. When I try to undervolt to anything bellow 1V, after few hours hashrate drops to 0.00 and needs system reboot.

no problem so far with 800mv (20+ hours) but i have just 1 card.miner shows 112W consumption, from wall system+1 card 170W(gold) psu

They even run at -cvddc 750 but we want to exclude any hardware crashes when testing, so we keep the voltage slightly higher than necessary. With these settings the GPUs report power about 105W per card. Please note that is crucial to keep the temperatures low, do not use -tt above 65 as this is the edge temperature, and the junction temperatures will be higher. With good airflow, even the first generation RX5700 with the single turbine do not go above 50% fan with the above settings.

For a higher hashrate you can try: -ethi 8 -tt 54 -fanmin 54 -cclock 1300 -cvddc 750 -mclock 930 -hstats 2. It will raise your fan speed to 55-60%. The power consumption is about 4 Watts lower and the hashrate is higher about 3%. I will test higher tts like -tt 55. -tt 54 seems too safe.

   There is no difference in hashrate (at least not noticeable), so it is better to use newer drivers (i.e. anything from the last several months). However, do not use drivers that are newer that PhoenixMiner version you are using. For PhoenixMiner 4.5c the latest supported drivers are 19.7.5 for Windows, and 19.30-838629 for Linux. For PhoenixMiner 4.6b the latest supported drivers are 19.9.1 for Windows, and 19.30-855429 for Linux).

Maybe your DAG is not generated properly. In your config.txt file comment all your overclock settings. Start PM without command line parameters (it will use config.txt). After the DAG generation passes uncomment your overclock settings in config.txt, save it and press 'c' in PM and your config.txt file will be reloaded with your desired overclock settings.

Edit: I have a Windows Defender exception for the folder that the miner is in. It hasn't deleted anything from that folder in years.

Edit2: 4.5c was working fine in this rig with just the Polaris and 19.5.2

Edit3: Turns out Windows Defender was blocking the miner... Haven't seen it block something like that before....

The only new feature since the 4.6b beta version is the ability to show the current hotspot (junction) and memory temperatures on AMD cards when -hstats 2 option is used. This will allow for better monitoring of these important temperatures, which can be quite higher than the GPU temperature.

• Added optimized kernels for AMD RX5700 (Navi) GPUs under Windows (you need AMD driver 19.9.1 to use these kernels)
• Implemented hardware control (setting clocks, voltages, power limit, fan control) for AMD cards under Linux. Requires PhoenixMiner running with root permissions. The clocks and voltage control require relatively new drivers (tested on 19.30-855429) and adding the following boot parameter to Linux kernel: amdgpu.ppfeaturemask=0xffffffff
• Added advanced hardware stats (-hstats 2) for Nvidia cards under Linux
• Added advanced hardware stats (-hstats 2) for AMD cards under Linux (requires relatively new drivers)
• Now showing the current hotspot (junction) and memory temperatures on AMD cards when -hstats 2 option is used. Working on both Windows and Linux. Note that only most recent cards support this feature (e.g. Radeon VII, RX5700)
• Implemented proper fan control for latest Nvidia cards from 20x0 and 16x0 series (Windows)
• Added support for all new AMD Windows drivers up to the latest 19.9.1
• Added support for all new AMD Linux drivers up to the latest 19.30-855429

  Thank you for finding the cause of the problem on your rig. We were scratching our heads because even with latest Windows updates we couldn't reproduce the problem. Frankly, the behviour of Windows Defender is becoming really idiotic. We are already disabled it permanently on all our test rigs (and even on developer PCs) from the start but we will stop short from recommending this for everyone. Just keep in mind that whenever you see strange behavior or unexplained errors, just try with disabled Windows Defender to be sure that it is not causing problems.

after update to amd driver 19.9.1 - the patcher doesnt work, just gives the error "File too large"

Yeah, I disabled Windows Defender completely and discovered it was blocking the actual process. In the past, as long as it didn't delete the miner when I downloaded it, and was able to move it to my folder with my exception it wasn't a problem. Now, I've added an exception for the miner process to Windows Defender and all is working fine.

   The latest version of the patcher (atikmdag-patcher-1.4.7.zip) works fine with 19.9.1 drivers. It appears that the official thread for it is here: https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher (note that aren't affiliated with its creator in any way, so decide for yourself, we just use it with our modded cards and it works fine). Going back to the older drivers is also an option because RX570 doesn't benefit from the latest drivers.
