So far I never received any merit So much trash posts I quickly looked at your post history, and I confirm, there seems to be a lot of trash there.

1) Self-Custody is a right. There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted." 2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized. 3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

So far I never received any merit So much trash posts To improve your post quality, you should have to do the following two essential tasks simultaneously or seperately: 1) Learning and sharpening your English skills, including reading and writing skills. Reading skills will help you to read English documents, articles, topics on crypto easier and more efficiently. You can not learn anything if you are not able to understand what others wrote. Writing skills will help you to express your ideas better, help readers easier to get your ideas and avoid serious misunderstandings. 2) Spending more time to learn about crypto knowledge and basic stuffs of the forum. You will get nothing if you join the forum without basic knowledge on crypto ecosystem as well as basic structures, functions, useful features of the forum. For instance: You can find and learn a lot of things by yourself if you know how to use the forum function: [Tips] Guide for forum search Furthermore, you should keep following topics, threads of constructive, famous users in the forum, such as Jet Cash, TMAN, The Pharmacist, iasenko, nullius, hugeblack, zentdex, mdayonliner, etc. You can learn lots of invaluable things from them, for free. Best regards, mate.

the merit IMO? free merits at the beginning [based on rank minimum at that time] O.k. airdrop, means the initial distribution of merits that took place on about January 24... o.k. comment makes sense in that context.

Yes the initial "airdropped free distribution based on rank/activity". Sorry if I wasn't clear.

merit system don't work.. for example i write a lot of translation for a lot of project and make some guide but none of this post was merited... so my possibility to go up in the rank it's 0..

You should just frame your likelihood of receiving merit as zero (like you already did) and give up. That is the best attitude. Furthermore, psych yourself into getting jaded, disgruntled and bitter, too - if you are not those things, already. Seems like you are going to have a great approach to merit and life in general, too.. Surely, you are inspiring me, and perhaps some other members, too.

if you're not kidding me thanks! Well, it seems to me that JayJuanGee is certainly being sarcastic. Are you also being sarcastic by thanking them ? In a not-so-constructive manner , JayJuanGee is telling you that you are adopting a negative attitude towards not receiving Merit and that you'll end up/seem to be believing that you'll never get any. merit system don't work.. for example i write a lot of translation for a lot of project and make some guide but none of this post was merited... so my possibility to go up in the rank it's 0..
On one hand, guides and translations could be Merit-worthy for a lot of users, but if they don't have sMerit to give, or if the ones who have don't come across your posts, your posts won't get merited. On the other, users with sMerit to give may simply not find them useful. It's a very subjective measure. I think it's healthy to just use the forum as if the Merit system didn't exist. Otherwise, you can find threads whose original posters are available to review your history and potentially award your posts merit points. Also, there are threads where you can complete tasks to get merit points. You can also take a look at Merit stats to get an idea about the kind of posts that are merited the most.

As long as you don't start any posts you won't have any merits even 2+ years actively replying in this forum. Is this right?

Nevermind. I did some research and found users that have merits with them after 300+ activity without starting a thread. With this, Is there an activity threshold that creates some default merit? Or is my question doesn't make sense?

There is no merit to posting per se (and thus gaining activity); any "bot" can do that. The merit is in changing the mind-set as a preamble to moving ahead. No change -> no merit.

If you want to be a merit source:
1. Be a somewhat established member. I am not clear about this point, for be a merit source there is need any rank requirement ? Like hero or legendary? Or any rank can be merit source? What does actually mean established member's? Sorry for that question. I am not clear that matter that's why I ask.

As far as I know any rank can ask for to be a source, we have no rank limitation BUT, until now the majority of sources are members with legendary rank. I saw 2 sources with rank of full member.

What does actually mean established member's? My assumption/guess: theymos is looking for members who have shown they can contribute to the site. I'd say that also means many other users know your username by now.

Or is my question doesn't make sense? Less than 7% of merits awarded are to new topics. Isn't that a surprising statistic? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4181253.0The 'default' merit that you are talking about was distributed to higher ranked accounts when the merit system was introduced.

Well I guess Post Number is referring to the post number in a topic, it does not mean new or old topic. For example 6.81% of the time opening post got merits and for post# 501+ i guess this is due to mega threads like Wall Observer, if we exclude this, I'm sure percentage will be much higher on opening post.
