The Merit History seen on any user profile is limited to the las 120 days. All previous merit transactions are not shown, thus giving the impression to some that there is no historical record for transactions over 120 days old. On Meta there are at least seven methods that I’m aware of that have been published, and that give you access to the complete merit transaction history. These methods are updated regularly on the weekends:

Some of the systems are easier and quicker to use than others, while the scope and depth of analytical capabilities varies amongst them, as do the skills necessary to operate them. The good thing is that there are enough methods for everyone to take their pick based on their needs.

Also Vod 's BPIP project lets you trace user profile information, merit, trust, activity, posts, etc., updating the data within a very short time spam from the update on the Bitcointalk website.

So I noticed it says unused Merit can be decayed at some point in the future - What's the point of this?  Is it just to keep people from stagnating their Merit and not using it?

Also, what are your thoughts on people here using their numerous alt accounts to abuse the Merit system?  Granted, there's not much to "abuse", but someone who has a dozen alt accounts, say one of them gets selected as a Merit source, couldn't that have a negative impact on the system?

EDIT (wanted to add): Are you worried about people paying for Merit just to rank up?

I'm not complaining by any means, I like the new stuff.  Just wanted to ask a few questions.

Merit is the mirror of your knowledge about Crypto world. Post or share some Good Content, achieve trust from other valuable member. We most of the people want to be celebrity but they never search that they have any kind of telnet or not. We most of us loves to live in dream, because dream's make his path depend on our demand, actually what you thought all day long. So don't make a palace in your dream , Just make a hootch in real life. Find real you and write your invention, thought, idea and share you dream to all. If people like your idea, if you touch there feelings they will give you reward, or justify or give some honor of your dream that's called Merit.


Rank is not power of member, its indicate how long he is belongs to this site. If anyone stay with this site one day he will be a boss of crypto Knowledge.
Rank represent depth of know about Crypto Market all though Crypto World.

Of course is promoting,advertising, lets say bounty hunting some kind of job.You are doing that for rewards,tokens,coins,money.Someone will say a hobby for that..but come on,you still get that coins.I play golf in my free time,it´s my hobby, but i also play tournaments to win some journey and not just for fun.

Are you bugging other golf players while you play tournaments? Cause that's what spamming on this forum does to other users.

Someone calling a spammer just for doing his job/hobby is wrong in my oppinion.There are lot of them.Not everyone has skills to make 10-30 informative and constructive  posts in a week.Thats why your rank is legendery and his Jr.

Seems like this would be the problem of the new folks joining and seeking knowledge here and only those people who were here first would benefit.But as i am new here i cant judge the people as i dont know anything about these requirements.I am looking forward to a less spam threads so that we can all enjoy learning,trading or anything related to cryptocurrencies.

Actually regarding bitcoin future, bitcoin need to be adopted by many merchants. Many companies are signed to Bitcoin adoption so future growth of this coin is infinite. May be some peoples are wrongly understand the Crypto platform not all the companies are create the own currency.

The merit system can work
I went from 0 to 100 merit in ~ six month.
No particular skill or anything, just lot of curiosity and trying my best to share what i end up knowing

As Speculatoross has shown, people that come here for the right reasons are having no problem in getting enough Merit to rank up. It might be a bit slower than it was before but the system is working in allowing them to progress and stopping those that only came here to get paid for posting from gaining rank. The rules will not be adjusted to be more favourable for all because they were designed to be favourable to those that deserve it and not those that don't.

Merit system treats all users equally, especially newcomers.
They all have the same start, and someone who can join discussions better via higher constructive efforts can rank up faster.

As Speculatoross has shown, people that come here for the right reasons are having no problem in getting enough Merit to rank up.

Slower but finally, constructive users will rank up to their next ranks for sure.
And they deserve with ranking-up rewards for their continuous constructive works.

I would like to see the rules of forum become much stricter because more and more spammers, bounty hunters, cheateres come every day.

I barely know anything technical about Bitcoin, and even I managed to get some merits here and there. Try to be constructive, try to help, do not ignore conversation that's been going on in threads, and don't spam when there is nothing else to say. You will see, at some point you will get merits if you resonate with what people are thinking, it is not that difficult. Don't get discouraged! =)

There is no need to be a technical expert to help others and earn merits as rewards for your help.
There are lots of different ways to help other members in the forum.

I barely know anything technical about Bitcoin, and even I managed to get some merits here and there.

Sounds well! You should keep up your good attitude to help others!

Try to be constructive, try to help, do not ignore conversation that's been going on in threads, and don't spam when there is nothing else to say. You will see, at some point you will get merits if you resonate with what people are thinking, it is not that difficult. Don't get discouraged! =)

Although the avatar restriction was originally introduced because of concern about a security vulnerability in SMF the forum has changed a lot since then. If Jr. Members had avatars the tens of thousands of shitposting spammers and spambots would all be getting paid to have a sponsored avatar. Getting 10 Merit isn't that hard if you put a bit of effort into your posts and get involved in interesting discussions.

I just remembered it is Full Member level so 100 Merit for an avatar, that is a bit tougher.
