To get 1 merit this is really very difficult in this forum.
Wrong. If you're here for the right reasons, it's hard not to get merit. You have zero merits because the system was implemented specifically to weed out people like yourself. ...have join in this forum for 4 months, i take an active part in this forum but it's too difficult for me to get merit. pls kindly help me Merits are not to reward activity, but quality. Your entire activity is limited to posting proofs for bounty campaigns. Feel free to reply with links to few constructive/helpful posts of yours and I'll consider sending you one. Can you take a look at some of my post if it does not fit the rules of the system? - that some tips for new players can earn some extra money with the effort they have worked. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3559411.0https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4417367.0Hard to get a merit hard. Most of people keeping their merits as a golden. The real point is we were not at the right topics so far. However i support this Merit system based Rank system. These kind of things necessary for high quality forums as Btt.

Wtf is this? Why did you went to a megathread where all people do is report plagiarism, and made a one-liner post about how "80% of icos are fraud"? And the worst part of all is you coming here, saying that this is a "positive comment" and asking for merit. You guys should be studied.
Are bounties all you can think about when you come to this forum?

I’m gonna give you a shot. Take a look at your post history. Do you really think you ever helped someone or contributed with anything to the forum? What changed with your posts? Be honest.

As you may know, most of us are newbie in this field. So we don't have too much experience to create some quality posts. We will try to contribute to the forum in our capacity. Wish you simphethise!
Try to grow. Because people can all.Nothing can be done, without not effort.LoyceV, JayJuanGee, SFR10, they also had a small member one day.But they are trying hard. So they got bigger members today. You also try it,I hope you get Merit too. I totally agreed with you. This new revision will make this environment more better. Merit system will encourage new members to contribute positive post in this forum.

The signature didn't play a role for the merit I got at all. In the very beginning I joined a project which turned out to be scam and of course I didn't got paid, lost a few months and decided not to join any campaigns as they were waste or time and the merit system came in the meantime. Then I was wearing no paid signature for a couple of weeks then joined one project of Tokensuite as I thought they were reliable, but unfortunately another disappointment. Finally found a campaign by izanagi narukami, which was only two or three weeks but I finally got paid. During all that time I was receiving merit without any problems. So the conclusion: no matter if you are with paid signature for altcoins/bitcoins or without signature at all the merit are coming because of the content you are posting.
Actually, I still do not see why some people eager to upgrade to higher ranking member. To me, as long as I can read and can make a post, merit wouldn't make any different in anyway.

Actually, I still do not see why some people eager to upgrade to higher ranking member. To me, as long as I can read and can make a post, merit wouldn't make any different in anyway. Higher Ranking Member is indeed helpful. For instance, a Newbie rank member can't embed a link of an Image in their Topic/Post, i mean they when they paste a link of an image via. Insert Image, the link would be shown as it is, instead of displaying the image itself, whereas a member rank starting from Jr. Member can embed image link to their Topic/Post which would be visible to others within their Topic/Post. This feature of Inserting Image is required by some Sellers. Merit and Rank could be also helpful sometimes to trust a Seller, when your looking to avail a service from some XYZ person here. Last but not the least, Member Rank starting from Jr. Member get a feature of Signature, that's again a highlight. I hope you understand, what i mean.. Concluding Statement, you will lack the following features, if your Rank / Merit doesn't increase, 1.) You cannot send PM to any Member in this forum, who has opted for the option ( Do not allow PM from Newbie), this option is selected by default for all members 2.) As a newbie, you can't insert images to your Topic/Post 3.) As a newbie, you won't have an option of Signature In short, Member Rank as well as Merit both has it's very own Advantages in this Forum. We need to achieve it with Quality Post..

I'm not bothered that I've been demoted, and I hope I'll make my way to some rank someday.
What bothers me that some of the higher ranked members like you who got into the game early when there was no restrictions and now selling their accounts for money.( I'm not saying you're selling though.) I hope they'll implement something to stop this too.
Why are you bothered about this? How does this make you more or less of a spammer? Start worrying about making real useful posts instead of disguised shitposts and not about other people trying to bypass the merit limitations. I may have “gotten to the game early”, but that’s because I joined this forum cuz of Bitcoin and not to join bounties and make money. Actually, I’ve already received more than 250 merits since the system was introduced, which doesn’t make me better than anyone, but someone who actually has a brain and tries to do something instead of complaining all day while writing a lot of bs. Actually, you are correct TryNinja in regards to the ability to make at least decent posts is not as difficult as some of no merit folks (like no coiners, no?) are making out the system to be "so difficult." There are ways to engage in threads, and to post on substantive topics, and bitcoin happens to be my favorite topic, too (even though from time to time, recently, I have come out to meta, and even though from time to time, I might meander into looking at some alt coin thread that might have some possible connection to bitcoin - or perhaps some other possible redeeming substantive value). Another point is that sometimes any of us might mistakenly give out merits to members who really don't deserve such merit because we get tricked into thinking that they have made a substantive contribution, including just giving them the benefit of the doubt. So sometimes, it does pay off to browse through their prior post history which could even shed light that the current post does not deserve merit because it does not add as much value as first impression might have caused such erroneous merit conclusion. Certainly, there are going to be some scammers and spammers that still end up receiving merits, and I don't really find any problem with that as long as spamming and scamming in this forum are disincentivized overall (which seems to be happening with some of the new innovations a) the implementation of the merit system and b) the most recent requirement that newbies need at least one merit to rank up to Jr. Member). I'm not bothered that I've been demoted, and I hope I'll make my way to some rank someday.

So I can't voice my concern! Is that what you're trying to tell me? you're more concerned about how disguised shit post mine are but not a bit about the people selling accounts and scamming people. You seem to be attempting to place words into the mouth of TryNinja, and also creating irrelevant nonsensical strawman arguments. There is no all or nothing playing going on in the forum, and theymos and other forum mods and administrators likely realize that there are gradients in any problems, and some problems are more important to address than others. Seems to me that there are a lot of forum members and even members of the public (who are not forum members) who can and have benefitted stupendously from the substantive exchanges in bitcoin information through this forum, and the ability to glean valuable information from forum threads is likely enhanced by attempting various efforts to weed out the lower hanging fruit which is the newer troll, shill, scammer, spammer accounts, and if you are not a troll, shill, scammer or spammer, then you are likely to still rank up (even if it might take longer than it would have taken under prior forum rules).

1) Self-Custody is a right. There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted." 2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized. 3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

Just want to make sure I understand this stat.
Are these people who sent the most merit to users who eventually were banned(autobanned)?
Edit: If so I'm assuming that it is a cumulative total across 1 or more members
Thanks for the reply Cyrus.

This gives us an interesting overview. Out of top 50 accounts, 14 are banned (10 autobans and a few likely compromised locked accounts) and 7 have negative feedback mainly related to Merit abuse/account farming. I think it should be expected that part of the list of most generous users (when it comes to sending Merit) overlaps with a list of selfish people with hidden agendas that abuse the community. Are these people who sent the most merit to users who eventually were banned(autobanned)
If you would currently give a total of >13 Merit to autobanned users you would be in that list.

this is good news, I see many people always asking questions that have been submitted, maybe it aims to increase the number of posts or activities, this will reduce some of the questions asked repeatedly, and will make them think more to make posts that are more interesting and weighted . This will make the forum more interesting.

To get Merit point is not easy, but what if someone has a different alt account and one of it's account become Merit source? it is not fair or i think it can have negative impact of the system? is there something in the system that can track the merit source? if what are they doing? just asking

I have a question and if anybody here in this forum knew the answer then please answer me. Im a bit confused and im sorry if i have trouble understanding this new system. How would i know if i have "sendable merits" (smerits)? For example i have a 100 merits because im a full member, how many sendable merits i have in a 100? Do i already have 50 or half of 100 or i could only give 1 merit? Please enlighten me. Thank you very much.

I have only one problem with this Merit system.. I understand it has to raise the overall quality of the forum and I have no problem with that. But who decides what is a quality itself? What is useful to one may be junk to others. It is pretty subjective. Basically if i want to fish out some Merits, i have to think how others might think or want, not what i really do

But who decides what is a quality itself? What is useful to one may be junk to others. It is pretty subjective. How do you decide what is quality or not? How do you decide whether you like something or not? Of course it is subjective, but the idea is people will get merit for posts that have clearly had some effort put into them, and those writing exclusively mindless drivel or just claiming bounties won't get any or very little, and that's how it should be. Basically if i want to fish out some Merits, i have to think how others might think or want, not what i really do How about you just make posts as normal without even thinking about merit?

i have to think how others might think or want, not what i really do If you're not thinking about how other people will interpret what you have to say, then you're not having a conversation with them, which is the whole purpose of a forum. Instead you're just talking to yourself at best, and interrupting other people's conversations at worst, and everyone else is sick of dealing with it at this point.
