Did you close the command box that appears when you log with un-compiled version using files from githhub? Thats the only time I've experienced the program closing like that. Try checking the log files that I think it creates or make a shortcut to it and look for how to make a log file on google or your preferred search engine.

I would have thought it was going to be you missing a file or something else. The closing like that I've only seen like I said when you close the boxes that open with the uncompiled version from Kiv on github.
If you don't have too many workers setup you could delete the poclbm.ini file and see if its catching on anything by letting it save again if you have one. Last couple times I've had problems it was that.
The package on guiminer.org works so maybe you just clear the current use off and run that. I think the newer one so far that I've seen only has extra support for butterfly labs devices and a longer server list.

When I try to start mining, I get "Connection problems" in the speed section. Then, it starts but I don't get any score with my server. I don't know where I have to check if my bitcoin.conf contains the correct username and password. I am using: GUIMiner version: v2012-12-03 Operating system: Windows 7 SP1 X64 Miner backend: Video card: ATI 6870 Server: Slush's pool

Just fyi btc guild has blocked guiMiner. They had alot of denial of service attacks and for whatever it was noted they blocked guiminer. My guiMiner would mine at least eclipseMC but I never got into the details of how to set up a config file to make cg miner work through it without filling out the fields and with newer equipment. Just at least if your using cgminer through it , get the newest version and direct it to that one and not the old one that may be included. At least cgminer has been updated in the last 12 months.

Can you use ASIC USBs with GUIMiner?
I've seen the answer both ways here and elsewhere.
If yes, then can anyone share a "how-to"?
If no, is this a planned new feature for the future?
Thanks, D

I finally got this to recognize my 6950 and it is hashing around half the rate of the CPU, I thought GPU's were meant to be faster for mining? GPU - 240Kh/s CPU - 540Kh/s Is there anything I can do to make the GPU faster short of overclocking the card?

I've run into this problem, the app crashes because you have a problem with your Driver/opencl. Simply uninstall opencl package, then driver package, then run driverfusion to sweep leftovers(very important). Reboot. Reinstall drivers, then opencl, Should launch now. If you are not talking about app crash, but no visible window, thats different. In win 7 simply hover over the app in taskbar right click and maximize, then pull down the top bar to relocate the app on screen. waltsmith
