I've seen some good discussion on FB that what if those two will jump into another league? what's left for the PBA then? I guess if that time comes, the PBA will plead to those two that they should stay in the league and they're the ones needed for the league to survive. That was a good discussion that I've seen but I don't think that it will happen but it's a good point that there really is the possibility that it might happen in the near future as these people knows best about business and they've been there for a long time.
Business is their priorities and PBA is a good venue to advertise their products, for sure the best interest is to keep the league and support to whatever the needs to provide. It's far to happen as these two well-known personalities are always getting their demands to this association. They will keep the ball rolling and they will continue to use this channel to advertise and to keep attracting consumers to buy their products and support the team that they've owned. I'm just thinking of the worse outcome that can happen when they let go this venue for their products because there are other leagues that if they jump in, for sure it's going to blow out and will also become popular. Wherever the players are, fans and customers will follow so these two tycoons will be jumping in for whatever they like if they see it's no longer profitable and beneficial for them. But yeah, this is far from happening and we can just think of the worst possible thing to come but right now, as long as the league continues, everything's good.

We just need to hope for the best. Every institution is struggling with the pandemic and PBA is no excuse. Other countries are now slowly turning their sports events into normal and we can see a large audience now because they are all vaccinated even others don't want. There are lots of vaccine doses supplies now in our country but others are still hesitant.
That's the advice of WHO, without people having fully vaccinated, the large mass audiences are not encouraged. The number of big cases everyday is already usual to see and it can't be controlled but if only most people are vaccinated, it can reduce the risks of being a spreader.

Based on the article I read, PBA has lost 70 million pesos in the last bubble and they could no longer sustain another bubble, thankfully the captain ball of each team are willing to help with the expenses of this current bubble set up. If the situation of our country will not change after this season, I don't know if we will still see the PBA continue with a new season.
I've read that with the statement of Marcial, they're the ones to ask for favor and help from everyone's last bubble. And now, it's their players that have asked if they can help and of course he doesn't have to decline that approval for their help. That's a lot of money and I wonder if this pandemic won't have any clue to be seen close to its end, how this league will survive. I guess the business tycoons will step in and will give their help to the league just to sustain another season. PBA will survive, there's only two names that this league will rely on. Pangilinan and Cojuangco will not let this league to end up this way, even this virus still active hitting our country, there's still money that will flow to assist this sport. I see your point and that's really a huge amount of losses, but as long as the team owners are still there to take part, it will continue. Those teams have established businesses. Such amount of money is not that much with the exposures the business is getting with the PBA. Two possible scenarios that might happen if those 2 big names jumped into another league. 1. PBA might go down and another PH league will arise. 2. PBA will try to recover by adding more teams coming from different companies. Basketball here in our country is business lets face it and the league is revolving around 2 companies namely SMC and MVP companies and teams. Without the 2 of them, there will be no PBA and the league might crumble as well. These losses coming from the league isn't permanent and I believe that the league will recover from its losses. The only problem is that "how sustainable the league is during this pandemic". We already read that the league lost 70 Million with the bubble that they did last year. In the end, I believe that the Pangilinans and the Cojuangco's will not leave the league. They're businessmen and losses in a business is already normal for them. They are thinking long term and they believe that the league will recover once the pandemic has ended.

That's for sure, they'll keep the business as these two are the biggest businessman in the Philippines. They can advertise their product through the PBA, so it's stupid to stop it that they had already built through decades, it's not good for their reputation. They can always minimize the expenses if they want to just to ensure the league will continue to run and that includes reducing the salary of the players.

It's more easy to them to minimize their expenses during this pandemic season, to the extent of reducing manpower from their respective businesses. But thinking about leaving this league, that's far from reality, as if they really thinking about that for sure it's been long time that they already deal with it. They can easily build their own league if they don't see any help that PBA brought to their business, but look we still have PBA and they still staying.

The expenses we are talking is all about on running the bubble, they can reduce the salary of the PBA players because they have no option, but there's also a negative effect on the players especially those who are receiving big salaries as they might leave PBA and look for a better offer. We can't blame this to the PBA because they are just doing the best they can to continue the league and with lack of income, a reduction of salary which is the bigger expenses of the total expenses is necessary, maybe we can blame the government here for not managing our country properly in battling the covid-19 pandemic.

All possibilities are there and indeed, if they both don't see any advantages to their business, they can easily switch to other leagues. So far it's not what we are seeing and they are still enjoying whatever help the league is bringing to their businesses, and that's good for now since we will enjoy their help even in this time of pandemic season.

If they are not worried about the future of the PBA, I think announcing that they have incurred big losses during the last bubble does not help. I mean, it will not make the players confident of the future of the PBA since they know that one day it would affect their income while the pandemic is still here. As mentioned before, they'll find the opportunity to play abroad just like other Filipino superstars have done already, and more so now that the South Korea basketball league is also willing to accept Filipino players.

Good news for SMB fans. Terrence Romeo on pace for comeback in Pampanga games
Seeing Romeo playing with a healthy SMB, makes me believe that they might win the championship this conference. They have a lot of scorers and they are good in defense as well, CJ Perez and Romeo if they will play with good chemistry, I think they can carry the SMB to the championship, of course with the help of JMF.

Terrence Romeo is one of my favorite PBA players due to his style and moves on the court, and he impressed the fans more when he joined the FIBA world and showed his talent despite his size, so I would always love to see him play again.

Magnolia and TNT seemed to have improve already, but once they are in the elimination round, they will be challenged and a team that has enough experience and pride will win and that is the SMB.

Terrence Romeo is an explosive player and with that style, there is no assurance that he won't be injured again because that is part of the risk unless if he decided to tone down a bit so his body won't be affected but I guess he won't do that because the line-up of SMB now is laden with guards and for you to get that playing minutes you must show that you deserve it.

Not closing the book as even SMB has the upper and dominant roster compare to other teams, it's not the same as before that all their starters from the bench players are all solid and almost an All-Star to Superstar lineup. CJ Perez is still adjusting to the SMB system as his role here is far from his usual role on his former team where all the time, he is the option for their offense. Maybe 2-3 seasons, CJ Perez might be the face of SMB if he won't be traded or stay healthy.

PBA will soon rise. Guys, it's pandemic so expect there's a scenario of being down but not actually down as they are still here and looking for every option to start.
It won't also be left by top companies who are in PBA for several decades. It's understandable that they are dealing in losses since it's pandemic. The downfall will be if there's no pandemic and they are still at the bottom. That's more of a serious problem since it's now about the lack of support from the community.

I thought Kiefer Ravena will just start doing some activities related to his Japan B league stint once the current PBA conference is done. Just for a recap, he mentioned he will finish first his duty as part of the NLEX team. Kiefer is now starting to work on his requirements and on his way to Japan but like in any country, a 14-day quarantine is a must there for visitors. Going back to the Philippines, another 10 days quarantine is required. If the PBA will come back by either next week or two and teams and teams have around 6-7 games remaining, Kiefer won't make it to the eliminations since PBA will schedule their games 5 days a week and all games are triple-headers and possible back-to-back games by each team. Unless NLEX will reach semis, if lucky, Kiefer will be able to play. https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/08/25/21/pba-kiefer-likely-to-miss-rest-of-elimination-round

Players like Ross, Cabagnot, Perez, Romeo, Pessumal and has a reliable big players like Mo and JMF. TBH, for me they are my top pick for me to win the championship this year not because I'm a fan of them but because their roster is a championship caliber.

As long as they are raking the benefits of it whether the revenues are not the same as before, they'll stay in the league. Two possible scenarios that might happen if those 2 big names jumped into another league. 1. PBA might go down and another PH league will arise. 2. 1. There are already the other leagues that have been gaining traction but there's still a lack of support from most of the basketball fans. 2. This is the other way of their recovery at least for the players but will be hard for the PBA. ( https://www.spin.ph/basketball/kbl-opens-door-for-filipino-players-expands-asian-quota-a2437-20210826) I think the usual addition of more teams from different companies is really an option for them. But isn't there a rule that they're only limited to the current slot or they can expand as many as they can as long as they passed the requirements that the PBA has set?

I'm a SMB fan and I'm a little bit happy with this news. I just hope that he will not get re-injured again.
The roster of SMB as of this moment is full of shooters. Players like Ross, Cabagnot, Perez, Romeo, Pessumal and has a reliable big players like Mo and JMF. TBH, for me they are my top pick for me to win the championship this year not because I'm a fan of them but because their roster is a championship caliber.
Playing all healthy,? the chance of winning the title is really high for SMB. The power combo of Romeo and CJ with Fajardo and Mo' adding Santos to complete the power 5 for me personally. coming off the bench, there's still the big 3 of Lassiter, Cabagnot and Ross. Hope there's no more injuries to all the players while playing inside the bubble, thanks in advance PBA!

I have not seen CJ and and Romeo playing together, I guess when Romeo is back, CJ will be put in the 2nd unit. https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/cj-perez-is-a-spark-off-the-bench-for-san-miguel-a795-20210814Mo is a good reserve for Fajardo and I'm sure they will stick with the original starters while their 2nd unit looks like a starters for other teams, so that's their big advantage this season.
